Jimmy Donaldson, known globally as MrBeast, has constructed a fully self-sustaining community in Ghana valued at nearly $10 million.
MrBeast’s initiative, named Abna Dakwa Village, was designed to break the cycle of poverty and illegal child labour in West Africa’s cocoa-farming regions.
The nearly $10 million project was built on previously undeveloped land over the course of eight months.
The project was aimed at giving hundreds of children a direct path from cocoa fields to classrooms.
It will be recalled that earlier this year, MrBeast announced plans to visit Ghana later this year to completely transform an entire village in Ghana.
Speaking at the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026, MrBeast revealed that there is a village in Ghana that desperately needs help.
He revealed that he has reached out to his colleagues who are also content creators and are going to participate in the project.
According to him, they are going to build a hospital, a well for the people to get quality water and also help with their education.
MrBeast at the Billion Followers Summit 2026, hosted in Dubai by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), stated, “We are going to Ghana later this year, and there is this village that desperately needs help. We will go there, build a hospital, wells, supply them with water and help them with education. Go there and completely transform the entire village, and we are all going to make content together and help inspire more people to do good.
“I reached out to some of my friends to help push the message even more and inspire others, and I invited 20 of the biggest creators I know,” he said.
Eight months later, in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel on September 19, 2026, MrBeast provided a step-by-step breakdown of how he built the village in Ghana.
The project began with the construction of a state-of-the-art school designed to accommodate more than 300 children.
To attract and retain qualified teachers, 10 fully furnished homes were built next to the school and made available to educators free of charge.
The development also included two large clean-water towers and an off-grid solar power system to provide the community with an independent supply of water and electricity.
A bridge connecting the community to the school was renovated to enable children to travel safely to class without the risk of drowning.
Beyond education and basic infrastructure, the project featured a dedicated medical clinic and a central marketplace to support local trade. Agricultural facilities and commercial fish tanks were also introduced to promote food production and generate income for the community.
Additionally, an ultra-modern washroom facility was constructed to improve sanitation.
Also, to encourage school attendance, MrBeast partnered with global philanthropic organisations, including The Rockefeller Foundation, to provide free daily meals to every student for the next five years.
