Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, the woman popularly known as ‘Ghana Jollof‘ who has been accused of offensive and inciting comments as well as publishing false news likely to cause fear and alarm, has broken her silence after the Ghana Police Service declared her wanted.
Ghana Jollof has challenged the Ghanaian government to extradite her from the United Kingdom following her declaration as wanted by the Ghana Police Service.
According to her, she does not believe the government can secure her extradition.
Reacting to the Police wanted police notice for Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, the woman popularly known as ‘Ghana Jollof’ claimed that there is no way the UK government would extradite her to Ghana.
Speaking in an interview on Class News, Ghana Jollof stated, “I dare the government of Ghana that if they can use extradition to bring me from the country that I reside in to Ghana, they can’t,” she said.
“They can’t because there is no law that will allow them to extradite me.”
“Unless I decide to come myself because the laws that we use for extradition, they have destroyed it. And when it’s political persecution, no government will allow you”.
She further defended 40-year-old nurse Salomey Awiti Baffoe, who was arrested by the police for allegedly helping her circulate videos.
“They see her husband is an NPP communication director in Chicago, USA, and they want to just frustrate the wife,” she said.
The brouhaha follows a wanted-person notice issued by the Police; Ms Kodua is described as a woman of fair complexion who was last seen at the Accra International Airport on August 4, 2022.
According to the Police, Ghana Jollof may currently be hiding in the United Kingdom.
The Police is appealing to members of the public who may have information on her whereabouts to assist with her identification and arrest.
The Police disclosed that anyone with information on Barbara Asantewaa Kodua’s whereabouts is encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact the Police on 0500100010.
The police disclosed that they have been monitoring a TikTok account under the name “Ghana Jollof”, which the accused person used to issue offensive and inciting comments as well as publish false news likely to cause fear and alarm.
In one of her videos, shared by the police, she is heard claiming that there was an attempted coup d’état because President John Dramani Mahama has infuriated some soldiers with his actions.
Providing more updates, the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, Lydia Yaako Donkor, briefing the nation in a press conference on September 18, 2026, stated, “As part of continuous efforts to clamp down on illicit online activities, the Ghana Police Service has, for some time now, observed a TikTok account under the name Ghana Jollof which has been used to issue offensive and inciting comments as well as to publish false news which is likely to cause fear and alarm. Police intelligence revealed the identity of the account owner to be Babara Asantewaa Kodua, believed to be domiciled in the United Kingdom.
“Over a period of time, Babara Asantewaa Kodua has used her social media platform to produce and publish videos containing offensive and inciting statements with the potential to provoke violence… In one of the videos under investigation, the suspect, Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, falsely made the claim that there was a near coup d’état in the Jubilee House, amongst other things”.
