The Sakumono District Police Command has picked up three individuals in connection with the Sakumono Celebrity Golf Club shooting.

The three suspects have been identified as Abubakar Mohammed, 28, Eric Asare, 23, and Felix Darko, 48.

On October 18, 2025, the three were apprehended following reports of gunfire at a construction site linked to one of the club’s executives.

A statement by the Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, Superintendent Juliana Obeng, revealed that the three suspects falsely claimed to be National Security operatives following preliminary investigations.

The three are said to have stormed the site and unlawfully discharged firearms damage to parts of the property.

According to the Police, the attack is linked to an ongoing land dispute involving individuals associated with the Nungua Traditional Council.

The three suspects are in police police custody and assisting investigations.

In related crime news, Isaac Arhin, a 27-year-old bus conductor, has confessed to the heinous crime of killing an innocent woman who could be described as a “good Samaritan” unprovoked in her own house.

The chilling details, as recounted by Isaac, have it that he used a pestle to hit the elderly woman’s neck and wrapped her face and head in black polythene after the helpless woman pleaded with him to spare her life.

“I hit her with a pestle, and blood started coming out of her nose. She was an elderly person who was very weak and helpless. She begged me to spare her life so she could give me whatever money I wanted. I cannot sleep now. I have nightmares of the woman begging me to spare her life. I also had dreams where the woman asked me to confess that my master (Evans) is innocent. I have confessed several times, but the police officers are not taking me seriously. I can’t sleep now. The CID officer asked me whether the woman had offended.” Isaac said.

“ I admit I killed the woman alone. I don’t even understand why I did that, because she was taking really good care of me. I wanted to steal some money. After killing her, I stole GHC1500. I knew her mobile money PIN code because she used to send me on errands.” He added, confessing to the Crime Check Foundation’s Ibrahim.

After Isaac was arrested by the Kasoa police and beaten to a pulp to confess who his accomplices were, he named his former master, Evans Mensah, who worked as a bus driver.

Apparently, Isaac implicated his former boss as a way of paying him back for how he manhandled him.

“I implicated Evans Mensah because of the way he treated me when we lived together. I was his bus conductor, and he used to slap me; that’s why I hated and implicated him. He insulted me and threw my belongings out. But he is innocent and has nothing to do with this; the woman has been haunting me in dreams to confess to Evans’ innocence.”
