Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said he will always apologise to President John Mahama.
According to Kennedy Agyapong, John Mahama is a good friend, and he does not want to lose his friendship.
He expressed guilt over his 2021 warning to President Mahama during post-election tensions after NPP supporters’ shops were attacked.
Mr Agyapong added that he regrets his words and values President Mahama’s friendship, revealing that his own party people have been ungrateful.
Speaking in a radio interview, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “I will always apologise to President Mahama. He is such a good friend. One thing that makes me guilty. In 2020, when we won the election, they were burning the NPP supporters’ shop at Kantamanto, and I warned President John Mahama that they were doing that because of him.
So if they dare burn any NPP member’s shop again, we are going to burn their house. NPP people see it as a sin, so I apologise today, and I still apologise to Mahama”.
He further cried out, “My people have been so ungrateful to me, and I will never lose a good friend like that. So this time I am quiet deal with your thing, now that I am quiet, he is an informant.”
In related news, Kwesi Botchwey Jnr, an aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has fired shots at NPP presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong.
According to Kwesi Botchwey Jnr, the NPP as a party needs someone with mental fortitude to be president, not someone who will require injections to chair cabinet meetings.
Speaking on Movement TV, Kwesi Botchwey Jnr stated, “We need a president who has the emotional and mental fortitude, who has a mental resilience even in the face of extreme provocation, he will not say this person is poor, so he should keep quiet.
That type of president, before you speak at a cabinet meeting unless you must bring your bank statement, because the president does not like poor people, he told Jennifer Queen and also told Abronye.
His presidency, if care is not taken before the cabinet meeting, if he is not injected, there will be no cabinet meeting”, Kwesi Botchwey Jnr stated.
