News“I feared arrest, so I didn't hit her back” - Man beaten by girlfriend speaks

A man in a viral video who was beaten by a woman now identified as his girlfriend has broken his silence.

According to the physically assaulted man, he did not retaliate when his girlfriend was assaulting him because he feared being arrested.

The man is quoted by Metro TV to have stated, “I feared arrest, so I didn’t hit her back”.

Also speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Ezra TV, later shared on X, the man explained the genesis of the attack.

He revealed that the misunderstanding has to do with a phone she promised to get her girlfriend after she complained about her phone being spoiled.

The man explained, “I have lived with her for four months. About a week ago, she came to visit me and complained about her phone. I asked her to see a friend of mine who sells phones so she could get another one.

When she got there, my friend’s phone was off, so she thought I was lying to her. When she returned, some gentlemen were in my house, and they told her that I always buy phones for ladies. That’s why she got angry and started beating me”.

He further revealed the woman’s occupation, saying, “She cooks food for galamseyers at Tepa.”

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has busted a woman seen in a viral video assaulting a man.
