Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, a former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, has revealed she has cursed the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, she has put a curse on the NDC over their role in denying her victory in the Ablekuma North parliamentary election rerun.
Speaking to the media during the launch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) amended constitution on Tuesday, December 3, 2025, she stated, “I have cursed the NDC for what they did to me at Ablekuma. God is a just God, and I know they will pay for it.”
“I won the Ablekuma North elections, and I keep repeating I won with 414 votes, and the original pink sheet bears me out.
“I’m not in Parliament today only because my party is not in power, and someone thinks her party is in power, and so she would take the seat from me by force. We went to court, and the judge asked us to return to the EC, but because it wasn’t my party in power, they orchestrated for the EC to rerun the elections in 19 polling stations,” she alleged.
Some netizens reacting to her comments stated, “So after losing the seat, the strategy is curses now? Under the NPP, even election defeats turn into spiritual warfare. Maybe if they had focused this much energy on governance, they wouldn’t be relying on shrines for political comebacks”.
One more netizen stated, “She dey look like the curse”.
Another added, “Madam, please go to the Ofankor-Nsawam road construction site. The stone you are talking about has been crushed into chippings for the road. That’s what Mahama went there to inspect today”.
“Some of you talk as if you sat at the same desk with God. You?
You think you can pronounce curses anyhow? Ah well!”, one more X user added.
One X user added, “These people are just paid to talk and get something to eat, it’s hard in Ghana oo. The guy at the back there was in his previous interview. He couldn’t even explain the reason why they were at that conference, they made but just talking anyhow because for some jollof & small cash bi”
It will be recalled that a rerun was conducted by the Electoral Commission in 19 polling stations, which overturned Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie’s initial lead and ended the NPP’s 28-year dominance in the constituency.
Ewurabena Aubynn of the NDC won the Ablekuma North parliamentary seat, defeating the NPP candidate, Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, by a narrow margin of 209 votes.
