A 41-year-old accounts Clerk at Klo-Agogo Senior High School (SHS) in the Yilo Krobo Municipality, identified as Saviour Attor, has been detained by the police for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old female Junior High School (JHS) student.
Reports suggest the case was reported to the Obawale Police on September 15, 2026, by the victim’s grandfather, with assistance from the Assembly Member for the area.
After the report, the grandfather, the Assembly Member and police officers proceeded to the suspect’s residence, where he was arrested.
Saviour Attor was subsequently handed over to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) for further investigation.
The victim in her statement alleged that the suspect sent her to buy a sachet of water before forcibly having unprotected sexual intercourse with her at his residence.
The 15-year-old girl victim was subsequently referred for medical examination, with the findings forming part of the ongoing investigation.
According to the Police, Saviour Attor, in his cautioned statement, admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim at his residence.
Saviour Attor remains in police custody as investigations continue.
In related news, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School (BOGISS) are demanding a thorough and swift investigation into the 14-year-old student sexual abuse.
The BOGISS PTA condemned the alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year-old student with special needs.
According to the BOGISS PTA, the developments surrounding the case are of “deep concern”, and the PTA considered the allegations extremely disturbing.
The alleged incident involves two security personnel attached to the Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School.
In a statement dated Monday, August 24, the BOGISS PTA stated, “The PTA condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the alleged defilement of a student of this school. No child entrusted to the care of BOGISS should ever suffer any form of sexual abuse, exploitation, or harm, and we consider the allegations extremely disturbing.
We commend the swift arrest of the two suspects by the Ghana Police Service and their interdiction by the Ghana Education Service (GES), and we call for full, transparent, and expeditious investigations, with the harshest sanctions applied to anyone found culpable under the law.”
“The PTA further calls on GES, the Department of Social Welfare, and relevant child-protection agencies to ensure that the affected student receives the counselling, medical care, and protection she needs, and that her welfare, dignity, and educational future are safeguarded throughout the process”.
“Any decision affecting her status as a student should be guided first and foremost by her best interests, in line with standard child-protection practice.”
Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted two watchmen of the Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School (BOGISS) after a disturbing incident of alleged sexual assault involving a special needs student.
In a statement issued, the Ghana Education Service revealed the interdiction of the two watchmen accused in connection with the alleged assault.
According to the GES, the two suspects have been handed over to the Police to assist with investigations.
The GES said the student was on medication and suffered a relapse on the day of the alleged incident, requiring medical attention, with the alleged sexual assault occurring during that period.
The GES further assured the public that the matter is being treated with the seriousness it deserves.
Also, the Ministry of Education has ordered the immediate reinstatement of the boarding status of a 14-year-old student.
They further directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to investigate the incident and ensure that the student receives the necessary medical attention and counselling.
