Bernard Mornah, the 2024 presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has called on National Security to arrest aspiring NPP National First Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye, to identify the alleged factories manufacturing cocaine in the country as part of investigations into the matter.
According to Bernard Mornah, the claims by Nana B are serious, adding that he believes Nana B would not have made such claims without evidence to support them.
Speaking on Power FM on September 23, 2026, Bernard Mornah stated, “I believe what Nana B said about having a factory that processes cocaine in Ghana. I believe him, and I believe he is part of it, hence his knowledge of where the factory is.
“If the National Security Coordinator, Abdul Razak Osman, is listening, they should arrest him so he can take them to where the factory is. He should only be made to show them the factory’s location and their activities, and after that, they should free him and protect his identity,” he said.
He warned, “If they don’t arrest Nana B, then it means they are protecting him and establishing the factory, producing and processing cocaine in the country. National Security must act swiftly. If he isn’t part of it, he wouldn’t have made such claims, so they should pick him up for investigations to proceed”.
“If he [Nana B] did not create the factory, he would not have known of its existence,” he added.
Also, Abdul-Fatawu Alhassan, the Member of Parliament for Yendi, has accused Henry Nana Boakye of exploiting the drug-trafficking controversy.
The Yendi MP alleged that Nana B is exploiting the drug-trafficking controversy as a springboard to boost his campaign ahead of the NPP’s National Delegates Conference.
According to the Yendi MP, Nana Boakye’s allegations of clandestine laboratories in Ghana are a calculated attempt to generate public attention as he campaigns for the position of First Vice Chairman of the NPP.
The Yendi MP argued that if Nana Boakye had credible information about such facilities, he should make the information available to the appropriate security and investigative agencies.
Speaking on Breakfast Daily on Channel One TV on Wednesday, September 23, Abdul-Fatawu Alhassan stated, “I see Nana B trying to use this issue as a springboard. In fact, my candid advice is that he should go and do his campaign and not try to use this cheap means”.
“We will not arrest him tomorrow, and then they will say, ‘Oh, Nana B has been arrested on this cocaine,’ and then his popularity soars, and then he goes to win. He should go and campaign. In fact, if anything at all, if they will even invite him, they should invite him after the elections when obviously he would have lost his position,” he said.
Their comments come on the heels of allegations made by Nana Boakye at an NPP press conference on Tuesday, September 22, where he alleged that drug traffickers had established laboratories in Ghana to process narcotics for export.
According to Nana B, the NPP’s intelligence gathered suggests drug traffickers have established clandestine laboratories in Ghana which are used to process narcotics for export.
