Veteran Ghanaian broadcaster and Author, Oheneyere Gifty Anti, has advised young Ghanaian ladies against being pressured to get married.

According to Gifty Anti, before marriage, they insulted her, and after marriage, they still did.

She highlighted that today, some of those people who used to insult her are telling their loved ones that even Gifty Anti got married at the age of 45 and gave birth at the age of 47.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on April 23, 2026, when asked by the host to advise young girls who are 30 and not yet married, she advised, “Losten girl, it will happen when it has to happen, but in the meantime, keep preparing.

Before I got married, a lot of things were said about me. After I got married, a lot more was said.

But today, some of those same people tell their loved ones that even Gifty Anti married at the age of 45 and gave birth at the age of 47. Let your life be an example.”

She added, “Don’t stay at one place waiting for life to happen, keep going, what will happen will happen. My father used to tell me God has three answers: Yes, no, wait a while, until it happens, you don’t know. Of course, work on yourself, be on the lookout, but don’t put your life on hold”.

“Most of the time, those who hassle you to get married are in the worst marriages. Girls, don’t rush. If you are desperate for anything, you have to be desperate throughout”.

However, some Ghanaians reacting to her advised stated, “She misled a generation of gullible and low-IQ women with her man-hating theories. Today, most of the women she lead and single mothers and miserable side chicks. Men will never elect a weak or slow-minded man to lead the pack. Women will allow anyone to lead. Shameful”

A netizen added, “What at all has this Gifty anti contributed to Ogyakrom that every now and then mofos be sending us unsolicited bullshit advice?

Abeg madam, just shift and go do your thing”.

One X user added, “This woman has misled a lot of young women into the ditch while she went back to practice what she preached against. She is never a role model. She has a model against the marriage institution”.

“Same Gifty Anti? Today, this woman is preaching marriage? The likes of you have totally wrecked the marriage institution of Ghana. You were on the radio declaring levels and standards for men and women. We later heard you used a stick to chase away someone after your husband”, a netizen added.

A netizen added, “She is back again. LISTEN GIRL, IT WILL HAPPEN WHEN IT HAPPENS. I THOUGHT YOU SAID LADIES DON’T NEED A MAN OR MARRIAGE. ALL THESE ONES ADVICE PEOPLE. ASEM PAA”.

Also, the Veteran Ghanaian broadcaster also recounted how she had her first child at 47 after failed IVF attempts.

She disclosed, “I was scared to think of childbirth because I heard it’s impossible to have a child after 40, but I had my first child at 47.

“I remember my cousin wanted me to come to the U.S. to deliver my baby there. That’s because they had to put me on bed rest and all that. I was scared, but the doctor took me through,” she stated.

She shared, “I went through treatment, and I’ve written about it in my book. It didn’t happen naturally; I did IVF, and I had failed IVFs before this one worked. All the treatment I went through, I have the scars to show for it”.

“I wanted a child. I prayed and told God that if it doesn’t happen, I’m going to adopt a child. At a point, I met my doctor, and he told me that my womb is fine, so let’s try. We tried, and by the grace of God, it happened,” she added.
