The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has told the former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Ken Agyapong, not to publicly criticise or undermine the NPP when he is upset.
Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin made this known while speaking to the NPP sympathisers in Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western North Region.
Speaking at a gathering of party sympathisers in Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western North Region on Saturday, June 20, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin stated, “If something is not going on well, don’t follow your anger; don’t let your anger control you to the extent that you will go to a radio station to criticise your own party or even speak about the party secrets in public.
We voted for Dr Bawumia on 31st January. He has not been sleeping. All the big party members that he needs to speak to for the party to be united, he is doing that.
Even if he is speaking with people, he does not threaten people with his power; he speaks with calmness, love and respect for everyone to come together”.
Afenyo-Makin’s comment comes on the heels of Ken Agyapong, who has vowed to take action against members of his own party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), starting in June or July 2027.
According to Ken Agyapong, the NPP thinks he is stupid to come and follow them again, warning that from July 2027, they will see action from him.
Speaking on Net 2 TV, the former NPP flagbearer aspirant, Ken Agyapong, stated, “It will not be long when you travel the way they respect you, then when you get here. Somebody like KOKA is saying my head has been operated on. He does not know what will happen to him. NPP people, are you ready? I am saying June, July 2027, me and you action in Ghana, you will be surprised, you think I am stupid.
You think I am stupid to come and follow you guys again. If you were to say ten sins of Ken Agyapong, you wait and see what will happen. I am not afraid of you, you wait and see. I have given you the time, June 2027, you will see action in this country”.
Meanwhile, Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady, a Ghanaian media personality, has fired shots at former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, following his recent outbursts against the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Vim Lady, Ken Agyapong’s recent remarks and interview were unnecessary at this point.
Vim Lady noted that Ken Agyapong’s public comments could potentially strengthen the position of his former presidential primary rival.
Afia Pokua, however, commended Ken Agyapong’s spokesperson, Kwesi Kwarteng, for the calm manner in which he has been handling the situation.
Speaking in a self-recorded video shared on X, Vim Lady stated, “Ken Agyapong must thank God for his spokesperson, Kwesi Kwarteng; he is a fantastic communication person. He is one of the best things that has happened to Ken Agyapong. He is an asset to Ken’s team. The way he has been able to manage the situation, he is solid; he knows how to apply wisdom and knowledge.”
“Kennedy Agyapong’s recent criticism wasn’t needed. He has kept quiet all this while, and I don’t know what provoked him to grant that interview. He has comported himself so well, but with this interview, Bryan Acheampong will have a comfortable lead because a lot of Ken Agyapong’s votes during the primaries went to Bryan Acheampong.
It wasn’t like there was something urgent that needed to be addressed, so that interview wasn’t necessary at all,” she said.
