Apostle Lilian Owusu, the wife of the late former Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Dr John Kumah, has replied to her critics following her recent remarriage.
Speaking during a Thanksgiving service to her congregation on Sunday, December 21, 2025, Apostle Owusu boldly stated that, even if she were 60 years old, she would have remarried.
She boldly told her critics her journey is her journey, and not their journey, adding that they should allow her finish with her race.
Apostle Lilian Owusu stated, “My parents agreed that I am still young and vibrant, and it won’t be bad to remarry. Even if I were old and 60 years, I would have remarried. For me, I believe in living. Even if I have one day, let me live it. My journey is my journey; my journey is not your journey. Let me finish with my race”.
She added, “After I introduced the man to my parents, he acknowledged that there are several men who want me, so they should fast-track the process so that no one will come for her”.
“Even when I was at my late husband’s funeral, people kept texting me. I didn’t know I was still attractive and still in the market,” she stated.
Additionally, she further revealed that she fell in love with her new husband at the fight sight, saying, “When you are crying, sometimes he brings something to wipe your tears. I think over the years, if you know me, I believe in forward ever and backwards never. I have made up my mind to move forward at all costs.
“I will not allow pain to cage me. I have a lot to do. This is the culture of the family, no matter what comes, we look at the positive side, and we move forward, and by the grace of God… my prayers and my request, God carry a man to the house of God.
“They came for a business alliance, and it was love at first sight. As soon as he saw me, he pursued, and fortunately, it was just within the time I was ready, “she said.
She added, “We have been praying, and God has answered those prayers, has given us a calm man, and he is not a replacement; nobody has said we have gotten a replacement. “
“God knows your journey, and he brings in people at particular times to support your journey. I thank God for bringing such a visionary, courageous and confident man into my life. I am moved by boldness, hard work, and visionary men”.
Her remarks follow news of her remarrying Samuel Aryeequaye, a year after the deputy minister’s demise.
