Fidelity Bank has rewarded a man who returned money he found at the ATM with GH¢10,000.
The man has been identified as Emmanuel Appiah Boateng and was rewarded by the bank for his remarkable display of honesty and integrity.
According to the bank, Emmanuel Boateng discovered GH¢4,000 left behind at an ATM, but promptly returned the money by reaching out to the bank’s Customer Contact Centre.
In a statement on Facebook on June 2, 2026, Fidelity Bank wrote, “Fidelity Bank has rewarded Emmanuel Appiah Boateng with GHS 10,000 in recognition of an outstanding act of honesty and integrity.
Mr Boateng found GHS 4,000 at one of the Bank’s ATMs and immediately contacted our Customer Contact Centre, ensuring that the money was returned to its rightful owner.
At a time when integrity is often spoken about, his actions served as a powerful reminder of its value.
We congratulate Mr Boateng and celebrate the character and honesty he has demonstrated”.
Some Ghanaians reacting to the Bank post stated, “In a time when many might have chosen otherwise, you demonstrated remarkable character and responsibility. Your good deed is truly commendable and serves as an example to others. Thank you, Pastor Appiah, for your honesty and kindness. Very proud of you as my brother. May God continue to bless you richly.”
Another stated, “I remembered the first time withdrawn money using my atm card. After doing everything, the machine ejected my card, and I thought that the money would never upon all the noise the machine was making as it counted the money. I was going before something asked me to look at the machine again. A lo and behold, my money was on the floor”.
“Congratulations to Pastor Appiah Boateng of Redemption Assemblies of God, Suame, Kumasi. I have known him to be a Man of God with integrity. He is a hard-working pastor, and I’m proud of him. The 10,000 received from the bank was donated to help roof a temporary building used by Faith Life Assemblies of God church at Oyarefa in the Greater Accra Region. God bless you, and I’m honoured to have you as a son”, a netizen added.
“And 11,000 was wrongly transferred into my account. I came back, and the needful was done. And mine was thank you!! Okaaaay.. I didn’t expect anything. We all did our Nyame dwuma. Thank you, Fidelity Bank”, a Facebooker added.
A netizen added, “Well done, I have always know @Emmanuel Appiah Boateng to be such an honest man since my school days at IPMC Kumasi when he was my tutor, God bless you always. Emma”.
