Fire has gutted parts of Accra Central around the Makola area on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Reports suggest the fire has caused multiple shops to be engulfed by fire at Accra Central around the Makola area.

Viral videos from the scene of the incident showed traders and residents panicking and doing what they could to save their properties.

Also a video shared by the service showed some of the structures still ablaze as firefighters tried to bring the situation under control.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not immediately known as emergency response efforts continue.

Some eyewitnesses say the fire started on a small scale before it quickly escalated, leading to the situation witnessed at Tudu in Accra.

Another eyewitness attributed the escalation of the Tudu fire outbreak in Accra to what they describe as a slow response from emergency services.

In other news, Bishop Daniel Obinim, the Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, has said he was not surprised when fire gutted his building.

According to Obinim, he foresaw the recent fire outbreak that gutted parts of his guesthouse at Ashaley Botwe Junction in Accra, adding that it was simply the will of God.

“I wasn’t surprised when fire gutted my building, because between March and April I had received ten revelations foretelling exactly that. It was simply the will of God,” he stated.

“What I am saying is that if I am lying, then God should bring another fire outbreak. From March to April, God revealed to me more than ten times about the fire outbreak at my place. So, it was God’s will that the fire should come.”

“It is a three-storey building, and only the top rooms were burnt. The ground and middle floors were not affected. Imagine if someone had died, how would I have saved the person?” he added.

His comments follow, A multi-storey hotel property at Ashale Botwe, reportedly owned by Ghanaian man of God, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has caught fire.

Reports suggest the blaze started around 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, with the top floor of the building catching fire under unclear circumstances.
