The Ghana Police Service have announced that five suspects who were accused of assaulting a teacher of Kade Senior High and Technical School (SHTS) have all been convicted.

According to the Police Service, the suspects were arrested from various hideouts and were arraigned before the Kade District Court.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, Felix Nana Danquah, Isaac ‘Dubai’ Okai, Edward ‘Missed Call’ Baah, Maxwell ‘Ozil’ Kwasi Antwi, and Richmond ‘Star Boy’ Yeboah were arraigned in court.

The five suspects were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, to wit assault, and assault.

All five suspects pleaded guilty and were convicted on their plea, with the court deferring sentencing to January 20, 2026.

Reports suggest the 2025 WASSCE students were arrested by the Cyber Security Unit of the Ghana Police Service and appeared in court today, January 7, 2026.

They were remanded into police custody pending a hearing on January 20, 2026.

In a viral video shared on X, five students were seen being transported out of the Kade Circuit Court after they were remanded into police custody.

Reports suggest the attack was allegedly carried out in retaliation for the teachers who prevented them from cheating during the 2025 WASSCE.

In a post on social media SIKAOFFICAL stated, “Five suspects have been remanded by the Kade Circuit Court in connection with the violent attack on Mr. Michael Quayson, a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School in the Eastern Region.

The suspects, arrested by the Cyber Security Unit of the Ghana Police Service, appeared in court today, January 7, 2026, and were remanded into police custody pending a hearing on January 20, 2026.

According to reports, the attack was allegedly carried out in retaliation for the teacher’s firm supervision during the 2025 WASSCE, which prevented examination malpractice”.

It will be recalled that last year October 2025, a viral video captured students reportedly attacking the teacher after he refused to allow them to cheat in exams.

Reports later surfaced that the parents of the students reached an out-of-court settlement with the teacher.
