The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 enlistment exercise.
According to GAF, the application forms will officially go on sale from Thursday, September 3, 2026.
In a post shared on Facebook on Monday, August 31, the Ghana Armed Forces announced that the exercise is open to first-degree holders and applicants with higher qualifications.
They disclosed that prospective applicants can purchase the required E-Voucher for GH¢200 from any post office nationwide from Thursday, September 3.
Also, GAF urged applicants to rely only on information published through its verified social media platforms for details about the enlistment process, warning applicants to be cautious of scammers who may falsely claim to have links to the Armed Forces or offer to secure enlistment in exchange for money.
According to GAF, applicants are advised to verify all recruitment information through the GAF’s official platforms and avoid dealing with unauthorised individuals or sources.
They revealed that further information on the enlistment process should be obtained through its verified communication channels.
In related news, Former Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul has said persons living with HIV and Hepatitis B are not eligible for recruitment into the security services under existing recruitment protocols.
Speaking at Parliament’s Public Assurance Committee, the former Defence Minister stated, “If you are having HIV or Hepatitis B, you don’t qualify to join the security services, so they will disqualify you; it is part of their protocol.
With the military, they all do it in one hospital, 37; you come to 37 for your medicals; because of that, they will inform you, and you will go home knowing the reason why you were disqualified.
They will counsel you; they will do everything psychologically.
He added, “This 1300 some may not even know why they were disqualified; it can be multiple reasons, it can be just HIV alone, you can have HIV at the same time Hepatitis B”.
Also, an ex-Senior Warrant Officer and a 41-year-old ward assistant identified as Patience Mbaye have allegedly been fingered in a GH¢1.68m military recruitment scam.
Patience Mbaye is alleged to have duped 26 applicants of GH¢675,000 in a Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment scam.
Reports suggest Mbaye is alleged to have collected GH¢675,000 from 26 people under the pretext of securing their recruitment into the GAF.
In court, Inspector Frank Morgan Dorvi, prosecuting, told the court that Mbaye allegedly acted with Ex-Senior Warrant Officer Jeffery Naboung, who is on the run.
The prosecution told the court the Ex-Senior Warrant Officer collected GH¢1,005,000 from 47 persons under the same pretext.
They were both charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and three counts of defrauding by false pretences.
However, Patience Mbaye pleaded not guilty, and the court admitted her to bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with three justified sureties.
