Obrachire SHS Student assaulted speaks

A student of Obrachire Senior High Technical School, who was assaulted during a district inter-schools athletics competition, broke his silence following the violent assault he suffered at the hands of students from the Agona Swedru School of Business.

According to the victim, he did not provoke them as he was just looking for a place to sit and to apply his medicine to his eyes.

In the video shared by TV3, the victim, identified as Fiadzigbe, was captured with a broken tooth and multiple facial injuries.

Speaking to TV3 Ghana, the victim recounted his ordeal, “They threw stones at me when I was looking for a place to sit so that I could use some medicine on my eye. It happened unexpectedly,” he said.

“I wasn’t looking. When I turned, I saw my colleagues running, but I didn’t know what was happening. By the time I realised, a stone came to hit me,” he shared.

He further called for the suspect to be arrested.

“I want them to be arrested, and anything that the government wants to do to them should be done,” the victim added.

Meanwhile, Dr Juliette Dufie Otami, the Central Regional Director of Education, has detailed that three persons have been arrested in connection with the attack on the  Obrachire SHS Student.

Speaking on the AM Show on JoyNews on Monday, February 23, 2026, Dr Juliette Dufie Otami stated, “About three people have been arrested as of yesterday. We are still investigating the matter.”

“They have been discharged, and they are okay, they have all been treated, and they have all been brought back to the schools, and they are okay now”, she stated.

Also, COP Lydia Donkor has given the Headmaster of the Swedru Business School, Justice Kojo Frimpong, a 24-hour deadline to produce suspects involved in the violent attack.

In a viral video shared on social media CID boss issued a strong warning to the headmaster and the other authorities of the school.

They were initially spotted in the video smiling, but suddenly changed after the CID boss issued her ultimatum to them to produce the students of the school who were captured in viral videos of the violence.

COP Lydia Donkor stated, “Somebody has worn your uniform to create such a scene or to conduct himself in such a manner; it is giving your school a bad name. So, I’m sure you are concerned that that is your school shirt.

That’s because I wanted you to control that it is your school shirt. So, if that is your school shirt, and somebody has worn it and is attacking a fellow human being in such a manner, as a school, you should be concerned to find out who wore that shirt and hand them over to the police, no?”.

“So, I am mentioning now that I’m giving you 24 hours to produce the people in that shirt who attacked the boy. The 24 hours starts now,” she said.

“If you fail to produce them, the means law enforcement employs to fish out suspects, we are going to adopt it, but because this is a school environment and there are other innocent students who were not part of the sports or were not part of that assault… The police will not do what I’ve asked you to do to produce them. You adopt means by which other people who are not concerned might be found wanting,” she warned.
