‘I do not see myself as better’ – Kojo Bamba speaks after defeating 12 NPP heavyweights

Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as “Kojo Bamba“, the newly elected NPP 1st Vice Chairman, has broken his silence after defeating twelve party heavyweights.

According to Kojo Bamba, he does not see himself as better than anyone else, adding that his ambition is not driven by personal success but by a desire to represent the hopes, dreams and aspirations of the youth.

He disclosed that he sees himself as a voice for the youth and is committed to creating opportunities that will give the next generation a fair chance to succeed.

In a social media post on October 4, 2026, Kojo Bamba wrote, “I do not see myself as better than anyone else. I see myself as a voice for the youth, a representative of their hopes, dreams and aspirations”.

“My ambition goes beyond personal success; it is about creating opportunities and ensuring that the next generation has a fair chance to rise.”

He further reflected on the political stakes, noting that the future of many young people could be affected if the NPP fails to return to power.

“So many destinies risk remaining in the shadows if we fail to restore power in 2028. Our youth deserve opportunities, our people deserve hope, and our future deserves a renewed commitment to progress,” he claimed.

Kojo Bamba emerged victorious after beating off competition from 12 other candidates, including Dr Mustapha Abdul Hameed, Nana Akomea, Samuel Pyne, George Kwabena Abankwah Yeboah, Richard Ahiagba, Alhaji Masawudu Osman, Richard Oti Aboagye, Abena Pokua Boaitey Amoah, Yaa Amponsah Frimpong, Henry Nana Boakye, Horma Miez and Bright Esselfie Kumi.

Kojo Bamba was declared the winner of the 1st Vice Chairman position after securing 3,116 votes, with his immediate past National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, who obtained 3,061 votes, while Nana Akomea placed third with 2,987 votes.

Meanwhile, under the NPP’s arrangement, the top three candidates were selected for the vice-chairmanship positions; the remaining 10 contestants were eliminated.

His comment follows the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) on October 3, 2026, elected a new crop of national executives to oversee the party’s affairs following its National Delegates Conference.

Over  7,000 delegates from across the country participated in the conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

John Boadu – National Chairman

John Boadu emerged as the party’s new National Chairman after securing 2,888 votes.

Mr Boadu will lead the newly elected national executive team as the party begins preparations towards the 2028 general elections.

Justin Frimpong Kodua – General Secretary

Justin Frimpong Kodua retained his position as General Secretary after obtaining 4,486 votes.

Daniel Titus Glover – National Organiser

Daniel Titus Glover was elected National Organiser with 2,964 votes.

Alfred Kwajo Thompson – National Treasurer

Alfred Kwajo Thompson won the National Treasurer position with 2,243 votes.

National Vice Chairpersons

Three National Vice Chairpersons were elected from a field of 13 candidates.

Kojo Fosu was elected First Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye secured the Second Vice Chairman position, while Nana Akomea was elected Third Vice Chairman.

Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye – National Communications Director

Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye was elected National Communications Director unopposed.

Abanga Yakubu Fuseni – National Youth Organiser

Abanga Yakubu Fuseni emerged as the NPP’s National Youth Organiser.

Hawa Koomson – National Women’s Organiser

Former Awutu Senya East MP Hawa Koomson was elected National Women’s Organiser.

Mohammed Ali Suraj – National Nasara Organiser

Mohammed Ali Suraj won the National Nasara Organiser position.

He secured 372 votes, defeating Salim Mansuru Bamba, who obtained 311 votes, and Awal Mohammed, who polled 106 votes.

The election has produced a new national executive line-up that will be responsible for steering the NPP’s organisational and political activities as the party works towards the 2028 general elections.
