He, however, added that due to his other engagement, he sought permission from the party’s leadership to be excused.

Speaking in a video shared on social media on October 7, 2026, Kojo Bamba stated, “I had other engagements; that was why I couldn’t attend the meeting. I was aware of the meeting because I was informed.

“I asked for permission from the leadership, and I was permitted. So there is no bad blood between the leadership and me,” he said.

He further clarified that rumours suggesting there were attempts to exchange his position with Nana B after he won the election are untrue.

Kojo Bamba stressed that he has no issues with Nana B or any of the newly elected national executives, adding that they are all committed to working together for the good of the party.

He added, “Some of you are also saying that I have an issue with Nana B. I want you people to know that I don’t have any issue with Nana B. In fact, I have worked with him for about 10 years now, and we haven’t once argued.

“Before the delegate conference, we went our separate ways because we were all focused on campaigning, but after the conference, I called him and Nana Akomea… So there is no problem between us,” he added.

Meanwhile, it will be recalled that some netizens have raised questions on social media about the whereabouts of newly elected First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, after he was absent from the party’s first meeting following its national elections.

According to reports, the NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, explained while introducing the newly elected national executives to party supporters that Kojo Bamba was expected to attend but was unable to do so because he was travelling.

Kojo Bamba was also absent later in the day when the newly elected leadership met with the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Kojo Bamba’s absence has since sparked questions among some social media users, with several taking to X to seek clarity on his whereabouts.

One user wrote: “Eiii, where is Kojo Bamba? Has he been set aside? Hmm.”

Another user jokingly asked: “Where is Bamba? Or he is outside protecting the meeting 😂.”Kojo Bamba was elected NPP 1st Vice Chairman after defeating twelve party heavyweights.

Kojo Bamba emerged victorious after beating off competition from 12 other candidates, including Dr Mustapha Abdul Hameed, Nana Akomea, Samuel Pyne, George Kwabena Abankwah Yeboah, Richard Ahiagba, Alhaji Masawudu Osman, Richard Oti Aboagye, Abena Pokua Boaitey Amoah, Yaa Amponsah Frimpong, Henry Nana Boakye, Horma Miez and Bright Esselfie Kumi.

Kojo Bamba was declared the winner of the 1st Vice Chairman position after securing 3,116 votes, with his immediate past National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, who obtained 3,061 votes, while Nana Akomea placed third with 2,987 votes.

Kojo Bamba rose to prominence as a leader of the Delta Force, which was involved in a 2017 confrontation over the appointment of George Adjei as Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator.

Kojo Bamba later moved into the NPP’s formal structures and was appointed Deputy National Director of Operations of the party’s youth wing in 2018.

Meanwhile, Bernard Bediako, the Member of Parliament for Akwatia, has questioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over its decision to elect Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, as First Vice Chairman.

According to the Akwatia MP, he is so shocked that the NPP elected Kojo Bamba, a convict, as first vice chairman, arguing that he should not have been allowed to contest.

The Akwatia MP stressed that he was surprised that Kojo Bamba was able to pass the party’s vetting process despite the NPP Constitution’s position on people who have been convicted of certain offences.

He referred to Article 3(C)(iii) of the NPP Constitution, which he claims prevents members convicted of certain offences from holding positions or contesting elections within the party.
