Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, a controversial media personality, has signalled his plans for the future after pursuing a Master’s in Law at the University of Connecticut.
The Ghanaian media personality, who made his first appearance on his For the Records show after leaving Ghana for the United States to pursue a master’s in law, disclosed he has pledged to serve his people and country.
According to Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, after all he has learnt and accomplished, if his constituents do not benefit, what would he have gained?
Speaking on his show, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah stated, “Today, I stand here as a Bomfa Asanti Akyem resident, as you already know, whose grandmother nurtured him in Suame but who comes from Asanti Agona.
“The young child who was shaped by KNUST Primary and moulded by Mfantsipim is that child. My life has opened doors I never imagined I would access.
“I did my public relations at GIMPA and further earned a Master’s in Diplomacy and International Relations at the same institution. My desire to understand the law is what brought me to the US, where I am now pursuing a Master’s in Law at the University of Connecticut.”
He added, “My aim is to serve the country and my people. After all I have learned and accomplished, if my constituents do not benefit, what would I gain from all my education and knowledge? I have pledged to serve the people and the country.”
Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah has ignited a debate with many suggesting he plans to contest the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency seat to serve his community.
Meanwhile, on the show, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah demanded answers from the National Security.
He recounted the National Security led by Richard Jakpa. On February 9, 2025, National Security officers intercepted a massive stash of counterfeit US dollars and Ghanaian cedi notes.
Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah stressed that despite the government’s ongoing accountability series, it has failed to provide updates to Ghanaians on the gold bars and cash.
He questioned, “We were in this country when Jakpa led the National Security operations that seized gold bars and a stash of cash. Jakpa, where is the gold and the money? We want to know the true state of the nation.
Where is the gold? The government is talking about the state of the nation and accountability series, where is the gold?”
In related news, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah some months ago slammed Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area, over his recent comments on the Golden Stool.
Speaking on his For the Records show on August 19, 2025, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah quizzed the Dormaahene whether the Golden Stool is from the sky or not, then so what?
According to him, the Dormaahene had the perfect opportunity to talk about development, but chose to attack the Asantehene.
Afrifa-Mensah stated, “Nana Dormaahene, respectfully, if the Golden Stool is from the sky or not, then so what? The conversations you were having, what beneficial interest will that bring to the Bono people? There are a lot of pressing issues you could have addressed instead of talking about the Golden Stool.
“You had the perfect opportunity to talk about development and how to support the region, but what you did instead was driven by personal interest. What have you done for the people of Dormaa to show off?”
He continued, “Whether the Golden Stool came from the skies or not, it belongs to the Asantes and nothing else.
“You started this attack four years ago, but still, John Mahama continues to engage with the Asantes. Aren’t you tired, Nana Dormaahene? You did this for the NDC, and now that the NDC is in power, you are still attacking the Asantes.”
