Ken Agyapong, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, has appealed to party delegates to allow him to serve them as their presidential candidate for the 2028 general election.
According to Ken Agyapong, he stands for industrialisation, employment and jobs.
He argued that Ghanaian youths need employment, which will be his main goal when given the opportunity.
Speaking in a televised address to national delegates on Thursday, January 29, 2026, Ken Agyapong stated, “I do not believe in revenge politics, and I will not tolerate any attempt to shrink the party by threatening its grassroots. Be assured of this”.
“The NPP was built on courage and internal democracy. So, I say to you, stand firm,” he stated.
“I stand for industrialisation, and that’s all my message. I am also for employment and jobs. What we need in this country is employment for the youth. So please give me the opportunity to serve you, and I will not disappoint you,” he said.
Also, Ken Agyapong has already pledged to serve Ghana with his heart and honesty.
According to Ken Agyapong, he will arrest his own child if he steals state funds.
He highlighted that if he would arrest his own children who steal state funds, what of ministers who steal.
Ken Agyapong stressed that because of his principled nature, other NPP bigwigs are against his bid to lead the party.
Speaking to NPP delegates during his campaign runs, Kenned Agyapong stated, “If my own child steals state funds, I will arrest him; my children already know of my attitude, so they will not even come close to the state to become president son and come and disgrace me. I will arrest my own child.
So if I arrest my own son, when you are minister, and you make a mistake, what will I do to you? That is the reason why they do not want to vote for me. When that is not done, Ghana will never succeed.
When everyone comes, it’s his family and friends, and they come for their share, and they leave with the country left to go backwards. I am promising you, I kennedy Agyapong, I will serve this country with my heart and honesty”.
Meanwhile, Dr Evans Duah, a Researcher, financial economist and chartered accountant, has confidently projected that none of the five New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidates will cross the 50+1 to secure an outright victory
Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View on Wednesday, January 28, Dr Evans Duah, however, stressed that the race remains competitive, but data shows only Ken Agyapong can cross 50+1.
According to Dr Evans Duah, his judgment is informed not only by empirical data but also by recent engagements on the ground.
He further disclosed that he engaged the middle belt and other regions last week to gauge the mood within the party ahead of primaries.
Dr Evans Duah explained, “A lot of people are missing the strategy and, if you ask me confidently, none of the five candidates will cross that 50+1 on Saturday. And if anyone does, it will be Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong. I stand by this, and it is based on data”.
“What is happening on the ground is that, from a strategy and intelligence point of view, there is a lot of social media cosmetic campaigning going on,” he said
Additionally, Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, the General Overseer of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, has told those supporting Ken Agyapong in the NPP presidential race to start jubilating.
The man of God once again boldly declared that Ken Agyapong will be the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2028 elections.
According to Prophet Elbernard, nothing can change Ken Agyapong’s victory.
Speaking to his church delegation, Prophet Elbernard stated, “How many days do we have left until the 31st? I wish today is 31st. Those who are “Kenneth-ed” in the house should start jubilating, I am telling you by the grace of God, because nothing will change, the flagbearer of the NPP is Kennedy Agyapong”.
