A throwback video of Ken Agyapong has surfaced on social media, with the NPP presidential aspirant declaring he will drink poison and die if Ibrahim Mahama is not jailed.

In the throwback video, Ken Agyapong and now Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh appear in a panel discussion on Adom TV.

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh accused Ken Agyapong of disintegrating peoples intergrity.

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, in the video, stated, “The highest person on the land, why is he doing this to peoples intergrity, why is he not being fair to people, you gather photocopies and come and sit here and try to degrade people. If you think you have enough evidence, Omanhene cannot help you stop doing what you are doing; you are a big person in your party, so help yourself. If in the past you did dirty work for your party to come to power, clean yourself now.

Ken Agyapong, in a sharp rebuttal on the show, stated, “What he has said today, I swear to God, if Ibrahim Mahama is not jailed, I will drink poison and die because of what you told me. I challenge you, he will never get away with murder. I have the documents.

So if he says, I have come to lie, and I am digressing, I will put my life on the line and see who will go to jail”.

Back in 2017, then Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, had, for several weeks, alleged that Mr Mahama issued dud cheques to the Customs Division of the GRA.

He further led a media crusade, agitating that EOCO should investigate Mr Ibrahim.

Ibrahim Mahama was later ordered to pay approximately GH¢13 million in import duties and interest after issuing dud cheques.

According to reports, payments were made in May 2017, though the amount is often rounded to GH¢14 million.

In Ghanaian laws, it is an offence to issue a cheque, knowing very well that you do not have sufficient funds in your account.

Appearing in an exclusive interview on TV3 New Day, Kennedy Agyapong was asked why he had not jailed Ibrahim Mahama as he had promised to do.

According to Ken Agyapong, Mahama and his brother went behind the big Chiefs to beg him not to jail his brother.

He recounted that Ibrahim Mahama was not paying import duties on machines he was clearing from the port because his brother was president at the time.

Speaking on TV3 New Day, he explained, “He is a friend, but I always speak the truth; the level of dishonesty in our culture is why we have to change some of our culture.

I took Ibrahim to court, and he paid GHS14 million. Do you remember? You know he was not paying duties on machines that were being cleared from the port, even on Sundays, because his brother was the president.

I challenged him and gave evidence, and Ibrahim Mahama went to court to pay 14 million. So, what have I done to the nation, and he went out there begging, so I am surprised that President Mahama is saying that I have not been able to jail his brother when they went behind big chiefs to come and beg for him”.
