Ofosu Asamoah, the former Member of Parliament for Kade and campaign manager for Kwabena Agyepong, has publicly declared his support for the former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to the former Kwabena Agyapong’s campaign manager, in life, one must not embark on a journey that will take you nowhere.
Ofosu Asamoah made this announcement during a campaign event in the Eastern Region.
Speaking to NPP delegates on Monday, December 1, 2025, Ofosu Asamoah stated, “If you see me here, don’t be surprised. I am the same Ofosu Asamoah you know. My connection with Dr Bawumia isn’t new; I just chose not to back him earlier. But sometimes change is necessary”.
“In life, you don’t embark on a journey that is taking you nowhere. You need a clear vision to know where you are heading. I was a campaign manager in Kwabena Agyepong’s team, but after much assessment, I have decided to be part of this team,” he added.
Some Ghanaians reacting to the news stated, “Stomach direction”.
“He doesn’t even look healthy. He needs to work on that belly, else e go take him go oh yooo”, one more netizen added.
An X user added, “This can never be news because if you’re the campaign manager of Kwabena Adjei Agyepong, the man technically knows it will bear no fruit, so where for crossing a carpet”.
Meanwhile, Kwabena Agyepong, a NPP flagbearer candidate, has challenged his fellow presidential hopefuls to engage in a nationally televised debate.
According to Kwabena Agyepong, Ghanaians deserve the debate to be able to make an informed decision based on policies, priorities, character, and track record.
Kwabena Agyepong emphasised that leadership should go beyond popularity contests.
He noted that Ghana needs a leader who will have transformative ideas and has shown commitment to deliver results.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on the AM Show, Kwabena Agyepong stated, “And that’s why I have even challenged my other four colleagues that we should have a nationally public-sized debate.
Ghanaians and our party people deserve to make an informed choice. That informed choice will be based on our policy differences, our priorities, our character, and our record. That should be scrutinised.”
“We need somebody who’s got transformative ideas, somebody who has shown that he’s prepared to work for results,” he added.
Additionally, five candidates are vying for the NPP’s flagbearer position in the January 31 elections.
The two leading candidates are former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong; the former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the other three former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Bryan Acheampong; the former Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyepong.
