Islamic cleric, identified as Mallam Anas declared wanted

An Islamic cleric, identified as Mallam Anas, has been declared wanted over allegations of sexually abusing more than twenty(20) children.

Reports suggest the Takoradi-based Islamic cleric sexually abused more than twenty children between the ages of six and ten at his local mosque.

The information gathered suggests that Mallam Anas is a serial offender whose previous conduct in communities reportedly led to his eviction and banishment.

The post shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on X read, “A Takoradi-based Islamic cleric, identified as Mallam Anas, has been declared wanted over allegations of sexually abusing more than twenty(20) children between the ages of six(6) and ten(10) at his local mosque.

According to reports, the suspect is alleged to be a serial offender whose previous conduct in communities where he formerly resided reportedly led to his eviction and banishment, with some allegations said to date back to as far as 2008.

In a disturbing audio recording allegedly involving one of the victims, the suspect is heard admitting to the act and urging the child to remain silent about the incident.

Amid growing pressure from concerned residents for his arrest and a formal complaint, the middle-aged suspect reportedly fled the area and is currently at large”.

The news has ignited a debate on social media among Ghanaians. saying, “Very disturbing and unfortunate.

So, after doing this to her, you begin to gaslight her. And involve God in your filthy life.

More than 20 is less, I think there will be more if investigated further”.

One X user added, “What sort of barbaric behaviour is that? I wish they wouldn’t have abolished the death sentence because of such people”.

A netizen noted, “Most Muslims are sexual offenders.. Most of them are Gay too.

But quickly use their religion to cover it. Ohh Allah says this n that…

That’s Bullshit…. But they will be the ones to beat u or stone u when u do the same things they do.

When he’s caught needs to be jailed for 30 yrs”.

“Almost everyone here is generalising the issue to Islam. Forgetting that every religion has that imbecile that do anything except what the religion teaches. Hypocrites,”, a netizen noted.

One last netizen added, “I don’t understand how some of you think. A man has committed such despicable acts, and you all are saying ‘religion’. Do you honestly think the families of the victims (who are also Muslims) approve of these crimes? It’s like some of you have some innate hatred for Muslims”.

“Over 20 children between the ages of 6 and 10. Allegations going back to 2008, Evicted from multiple communities and still allowed to operate, this is a systemic failure, not just one man’s crime. Ghana Police must prioritise this arrest, no title or religious position protects a predator”, another X user added.
