NewsKen Agyapong gains huge momentum from 18% to 31%; Bawumia stands at 45% - Global Info Analytics

A latest poll by the Global Info Analytics in December 2025 has revealed that the former Assin Central legislator, Kennedy Agyapong, has gained huge momentum in the NPP presidential race.

According to the Global Info Analytics, Kennedy Agyapong has moved from 18 per cent to 31 per cent in the NPP race.

However, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President, remains in the lead with 45% in December.

The poll revealed that Bawumia led the race with 45 per cent, Ken Agyapong with 31 per cent, with 11 per cent undisclosed and 9 per cent undecided.

The survey, which was conducted through a random computer-assisted telephone interview of about 3000 delegates, revealed Ken Agyapong made 13% gains on his November output, while Dr Bawumia moved closer to the 50% by 2 per cent.

With a little over a month to the NPP primary, the former Vice President will require at least 6% of the undecided votes.

However, for Kennedy Agyapong to clinch victory, he will be required to secure nearly all the 19 plus percent undecided and undisclosed votes.

An earlier poll by Global Info Analytics revealed that Dr Bawumia secured 47 per cent of delegate support and is the clear front-runner ahead of the NPP’s primaries.

Dr Bawumia continues to enjoy the confidence of nearly half of the delegates surveyed.

Kennedy Agyapong, the former Assin Central legislator, emerged second with 17 per cent of delegates’ support.

Dr Bryan Acheampong secured only 3 per cent of delegates’ votes, while Dr Yaw Adutwum and Ing Kwabena Agyapong secured 1 per cent of delegates’ votes respectively.

However, the poll revealed that a significant number of delegates, 27 per cent, remain undecided.

Also, the poll revealed  57 per cent of Ghanaians prefer former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the next general election.

Meanwhile, Dr Bryan Acheampong, an aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has confidently stated he will win the party’s presidential election and nothing can change it.

The NPP flagbearer aspirant dismissed polls by Global InfoAnalytics ahead of the party’s presidential election.

According to Bryan Acheampong, his team’s own internal profiling shows he is far ahead in the race for the party’s presidential slot.

He revealed his campaign team has profiled 190,000 delegates out of the 209,000, showing he is far ahead in the flagbearer race.

Speaking on PM Express on Tuesday, the Abetifi MP stated, “We are doing military precision profiling, and we’ve profiled 190,000 delegates out of the 209,000”.

“We are miles ahead,” he said. We have profiled 190,000 delegates, and I’m way, way, way, way ahead. I think I’m close to 50%, and the second person is around about half of what I am profiling.”

He further fired shots at Global InfoAnalytics’ interest in the NPP’s flagbearer race, saying, “First of all, what is Global InfoAnalytics’ interest in this poll? Who pays them?” he asked. “I know what I know, but I’m saying…”

“Somebody must have an interest such that you do a nationwide poll and you give me 5%,” he said. “No, come on.”

He added, “It means he pulled 12 people out of 700 and then passes a judgment that of the 700, I will get 5%. In May, Dr Bawumia was polling 77% according to the same organisation.” He continued, “June, 77%, July, 70, August 55, September 52, October 47, November 42. By December, let’s say it comes to 35. In January, it comes to about 25.”

“From his own report, not to critique the report, he says that the undecided is huge, 30%,” he noted.

“Two candidates are in the race. The delegates have not changed. They voted for either Kennedy or Bawumia. All of a sudden, they are undecided. So people don’t want to tell you that you vote for Brian, because others are intimidating them.”

“The elections of January 31, 2026, will not change the results,” he said. “I’ll win. Nothing will change it. I’ve been in contact with 200,000 of the 209,000 people we profiled, 190,000 people. Nothing will change,” He added.
