News“Lilian committed no sin by remarrying” - Abusuapanin of late John Kumah's family tells crtics

The Abusuapanin and Otumfuo’s Chief Security, Nana Susu Bribi, popularly known as Arafat, has told critics of the former wife of the late John Kumah, Lilian Owusu Kumah, now known as Lilian Aryeequaye did not sin by remarrying.

He cited that God detailed that only death separates married couples, adding that Lilian has completed all the necessary traditional processes to remarry.

Nana Susu Bribi further told critics to mind their own business.

Speaking during church service at Lilian’s church on Sunday, December 28, 2025, Nana Susu Bribi stated, “I want the whole world to know that Lilian has committed no sin by remarrying. John Kumah is my junior sister’s son, and my elder son is 50 years old. I personally received the marriage for them in Obuasi. For John Kumah to become who he was, it was through me.

“Even God says only death separates married couples. After the one-year widowhood rites, she has completed all the necessary traditional processes to remarry. So, what sin has she committed?

“I encouraged her to remarry, so she has committed no sin against the family or against God. As former President John Atta Mills once said, Mondi mo fie asem’ everyone should mind their own business.”

Also, the brother of Dr John Kumah, Frank Kumah, has broken his silence concerning his brother’s widow, Apostle Lilian Owusu’s remarriage.

According to John Kumah’s brother, the family do no oppose Lilian Owusu’s marriage, but they believe she could have honoured the brother’s sacrifice.

He explained that he wished his brother would see what is happening after his death.

Speaking in an interview, Frank Kumah stated, “When you make it seem like you only remember someone when you are enjoying the benefits, I feel some way about such people”.

“If you look at the four families John Kumah built around him, two have already moved on so quickly. People were fasting and praying for her to get another man to marry, yet this is someone who struggled to build the church she worships in,” he stated.

He added, “If someone gives you such honour, at least give him that respect, whether he is alive or dead. I even wrote on my Facebook page that if there is a second chance, my brother should come and see what is happening behind him after his death”.

“I will always advise people to take care of themselves before anything else, even including their children,” he said.

Meanwhile, Apostle Lilian Owusu has said she believes in forward ever and backwards never.

She asserted that when one is crying, God brings something to wipe one’s tears, adding that his new husband is not a replacement.

Apostle Lilian Owusu revealed she met her new husband at a business alliance and fell in love with him at first sight.

Speaking during a Thanksgiving service to her congregation on Sunday, December 21, 2025, Apostle Owusu detailed, “When you are crying, sometimes he brings something to wipe your tears. I think over the years, if you know me, I believe in forward ever and backwards never. I have made up my mind to move forward at all costs.

“I will not allow pain to cage me. I have a lot to do. This is the culture of the family, no matter what comes, we look at the positive side, and we move forward, and by the grace of God… my prayers and my request, God carry a man to the house of God.

“They came for a business alliance, and it was love at first sight. As soon as he saw me, he pursued, and fortunately, it was just within the time I was ready, “she said.

She added, “We have been praying, and God has answered those prayers, has given us a calm man, and he is not a replacement; nobody has said we have gotten a replacement. “

“God knows your journey, and he brings in people at particular times to support your journey. I thank God for bringing such a visionary, courageous and confident man into my life. I am moved by boldness, hard work, and visionary men”.
