Joshua Akamba, a former National Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has boldly stated that money is messing up the party today.
According to Joshua Akamba, the NDC youths are being destroyed by money.
He cited that during their time, they served the NDC with their lives, loyalty and dignity, but today the youths are full of money, money-conscious.
Joshua Akamba further advised TEIN UniMAC members not to sell their conscience to politicians, highlighting that when they do that, they are selling their future.
Speaking at the TEIN Unimac meeting, Joshua Akamba stated, “The thing that is messing up this party today is about money. It is about money. I remember when I was contesting as National Organiser, a group of 50 students came to me and said, ‘You will have to give us money, and then we will go and vote for you’.
I told them to walk away from me; that is what is destroying the youth, our future. You are full of money, money-conscious, which we never did. All we did was dedicate our lives to the NDC. I don’t have a position, but believe me, there is no country in this world that I enter that my name is not there. I don’t even waste my time at the airport”.
We serve with loyalty and dignity; we don’t sell your conscience”.
He further added, “This gentleman is contesting an election, then you expect him to pay you money, the next time you go to him looking for a job, you think he will give you the job? He paid for your conscience, and you sold your job and future to him”.
Joshua Akamba further narrated how he went to President Mahama’s home when he was broke, telling him he needed some money.
In related news, Joshua Akamba has said there is one particular Minister who is so arrogant.
The NDC man highlighted that 99 per cent of John Mahama’s ministers are humble, but this particular person is so arrogant.
According to Joshua Akamba, he wants to expose the minister when the person is in front of the President.
Speaking on Metro TV, Good Afternoon, Joshua Akamba stated, “There is one Minister who is so arrogant”.
When pushed by the host after mentioning the names of Ablakwa, Sam George, and the Lands Minister, Akamba responded, saying, “Those people cannot be arrogant”.
“There was something that came up that I said we should name and shame. That agenda will be triggered soon. If I mention the Ministry, then you will know the person”.
He further added, “Akandoh, that is a good guy, he is somebody you call, he sees your call and rushes to pick it. About 99 per cent of President Mahama’s appointees are humble. I will come up with it later. I am dealing with it in a way. I want to do the exposure of the person in front of the president when they are together, then the news will come out about it”.
Also, Joshua Akamba has called on President Mahama to reshuffle some arrogant ministers in government.
According to Joshua Akamba, some ministers need to be reshuffled to save the face of the Mahama government.
Joshua Akamba detailed that he has two ministers whom he thinks must be removed, but he, however, did not mention their names.
Speaking on Atinka TV, Joshua Akamba stated, “I am saying that check the people that you’ve appointed. Where we say we must allow our institutions to work. Let no Minister try to over-influence those institutions, and he has people checking that.
For me, there are two or three ministers I would love to see being shifted from their position,” he told Atinka TV in an interview.
He added, “It is arrogance of power, when it gets to the time…You know me, I’ve never been a coward. When it got to the time that everyone thought Nana Addo was a terrorist as a president, I spoke my mind in this country”.
