Residents were encouraged to seek prompt medical care whenever they noticed abnormalities in their breasts. The educational session also allowed participants to ask questions and clarify misconceptions about the disease.

One woman raised a question about a belief she had heard, asking, “I heard that if your husband plays with your breasts, you won’t get breast cancer.”

The discussion provided an opportunity to address misconceptions and emphasise the importance of accurate information about breast cancer prevention and early detection.

Following the educational session, the women underwent breast ultrasound screenings and mammogram examinations as part of the free medical exercise.

The programme attracted a large number of residents, with women from across Obom Domeabra forming the majority of participants.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Hon. Emmanuel Nii Commey for organising the initiative, particularly for providing women with access to free breast cancer screening and health education.
