“NDC made noise about ORAL without evidence” – Ellen Ama Daaku

News“NDC made noise about ORAL without evidence” - Ellen Ama Daaku

Ellen Ama Daaku, an aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has fired shots at the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to Ellen Ama Daaku, the ruling NDC government in opposition made so much noise about the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) without evidence.

She asserted that after a year, the NDC government has failed to deliver on their promise to Ghanaians.

The NPP woman is quoted by GHOne TV to have said, “NDC made noise about ORAL without any evidence, after a year, they’ve not been able to prove anything”.

It will be recalled that on February 10, 2025, the ORAL team submitted their final report to President John Mahama, who has since directed the Attorney General for further actions.

The chairman of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) and Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, revealed that with just 36 cases, Ghana can potentially recover $ 20.49 billion in stolen state resources.

Also, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, has said the Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine, started failing the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) the day he decided to file nolle prosequi to drop NDC cases.

According to Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the Attorney General’s selective accountability in handling corruption-related cases is failing ORAL.

He stressed that public office holders must be prepared to submit to full legal scrutiny, irrespective of political affiliation.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi News, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah stated, “If you decide to let one go and you prosecute the other simply because the person you let go belongs to the same political party, then of course, from that very day, you had failed”.

“I think that the Attorney General started failing the very day he filed the nolle prosequi in respect of members of the NDC who were standing trial prior to the government taking office. Because there is no discrimination in terms of public funds”.

“He started failing on ORAL (Operation Recover All Loots) because ORAL forms part of the NDC’s reset agenda. If you are going to fight corruption, then it should be a more comprehensive fight,” he stated.

Also, Daniel Domelevo, a former Auditor-General, has told the Attorney-General that Ghanaians are losing hope regarding the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative.

Domelevo stressed that the credibility of the anti-corruption fight now rests largely on how the Attorney-General.

According to him, the delays in high-profile cases submitted under the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative could deepen public cynicism.
