“Nobody can deport Ken to Ghana” – Lawyer for Ofori-Atta

News“Nobody can deport Ken to Ghana” – Lawyer for Ofori-Atta

A lawyer for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, Frank Davies, has boldly declared his client cannot be deported by anybody back to Ghana.

According to Frank Davies, Ken Ofori-Atta cannot be deported until his application for an adjustment of his immigration status is determined.

Speaking on Good Afternoon Ghana on Metro TV, Frank Davies stated, “I am telling you what you have to understand, but you are refusing to understand. Just as his visa was about to expire, he put in a petition for an adjustment of his immigration status. So far as that petition is pending and has not been determined, nobody can deport Ken to Ghana, and that process will be dealt with on the Januray 20.

When quizzed why Ken Ofori-Atta will not just return to Ghana, A fumed Frank Davis replied the host, “When some of you talk the way you are talking, you are a journalist, I become very sad, what do you mean he should just come back to Ghana. He should just get up and come to Ghana. He should come to Ghana and come and do what?

Do you know why Ken is still there? If you don’t know, then don’t ask me a question you are asking me, are you not in this country, don’t you know Ken went for surgery”

Also,  Frank Davies has said there is no such investigation being conducted by the Attorney General against his client.

According to Frank Davies, there is no such investigation to the best of his knowledge, adding that the Attorney General himself stated the probe was incomplete.

Frank Davies is quoted by myjoyonline.com to have said, “There is no such investigation to the best of my knowledge. And he himself is saying that it’s not complete. So if it’s not complete, what is this business of?,”

“If the Attorney General said he is investigating something, he should terminate the investigation and charge, and stop coming on the radio and doing what he’s doing. That is not the work of the Attorney General,” he argued.

Meanwhile, Eugene Boakye Antwi, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has launched a scathing attack against former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa TV on January 12, 2026, Eugene Boakye Antwi stressed that an image is being created in the minds of Ghanaians that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) members are thieves, with the continued absence of Ofori-Atta.

According to Eugene Boakye Antwi, Ken Ofori-Atta must return to Ghana to explain himself.

Eugene Boakye Antwi stated, “Have you ever seen a political party leave government, and its finance minister cannot be found? It has been one year since Kissi Agyebeng started mentioning Ken Ofori-Atta’s name.

Do you know the damage that has caused the party? They have implanted in the minds of Ghanaians that the NPP are thieves”.

“All the taxes we collect go into the Consolidated Fund, and those monies belong to Ghanaians. We are only custodians of the nation’s resources. So, if you are accused by the state of financial malpractice, why are you running away? Come back and explain yourself,” he added.
