Blakk Rasta, a Ghanaian reggae artiste and media personality, has bluntly stated that nothing will save NPP member Dennis Miracles Aboagye from joining Chairman Wontumi at the Nsawam Prison.
According to Blakk Rasta, Dennis Miracles Aboagye is in very deep trouble.
Blakk Rasta alleged that more things are coming up almost every day, with people calling investigators to blow the whistle on Dennis Miracles Aboagye.
Speaking on his show, The Black Pot, Blakk Rasta alleged, saying, “This is his mansion; he built this in less than six months. One of them was almost sold at the time that investigators started to freeze this via the court. This is Miracles Aboagye Adjiringanor’s mansion, and this is next to Jerry John Rawlings’ house.
It is a top-class area in Accra, three of them, and then on Spintex Road he has a modest one, which is not that modest; it is hot on the Spintex Road.
Politician: Two years in the office of the President in that outfit known as the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), he built this. As if this is not enough, he has a mansion sitting in his hometown in Larteh. If you look at it like this, you will not appreciate it too much. You know some of these people like to be on the hills and smell good air so they can look down on us who are the grassroots; they call us the grassroots not for fun, they know what it means”.
Blakk Rasta further went on to show the interior of Dennis Miracles Aboagye’s Larteh Mansion.
He further added, “Then you asked him, what kind of what has he really done to be able to get this? He has a few companies I do not want to go too much into, where I am not supposed to go. But we are told that contracts were given to family and friends for kickbacks. Money was siphoned left, right and centre. One of those contracts is what he allegedly went to tell the guy who took over from him: please take this out, don’t include it. Miracles Aboagye is in trouble.”
A government worker in a political office within two years has been able to build these houses and amass money; this is Miracles Aboagye. At one point, he was telling investigators This land my father gave it to me as it stands right now. Miracles Aboagye is in deep trouble, and I am happy that when the NPP were in power this were the people who behaved holier than though. People were pushing the old guys, and this is what the young guys are allegedly doing. Nothing will save this man from joining Wontumi; more things are coming up almost everyday people are calling investigators.
Meanwhile, Austin Brako Powers, a Private legal practitioner, has explained that the High Court freezing of Dennis Miracles Aboagye’s assets does not amount to a declaration that he has committed an offence.
The private legal practitioner argued that the freezing order only indicates that Miracles Aboagye is under investigation for possible infractions.
Brako Powers explained that under the law, investigative bodies such as EOCO can freeze properties, including bank accounts, but must obtain a confirmatory order from the High Court.
He further argued that Miracles Aboagye has the right to apply to the High Court to vary the order but must provide evidence showing that the funds or properties are not connected to the subject of investigation.
Speaking to Class News, Austin Brako Powers stated, “ It is not an indication that he has committed any crime, but it is an indication that he’s being investigated for the possible commission of some crimes against the Republic”.
“You must be able to prove certain things, the basis of which the High Court may look upon and rule in your favour,” he added.
He added that a freezing order is a preservation measure intended to protect the subject of an investigation and prevent interference while investigations continue.
His comment follows the High Court order freezing the assets of former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), Dennis Miracles Aboagye.
The High Court ordered the freezing of five bank accounts and four landed properties belonging to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, as part of an ongoing investigation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
On Monday, August 3, the High Court temporarily bars any transactions involving the identified bank accounts and prohibits the sale, transfer, mortgage or disposal of the four landed properties until further orders are made by the court.
Reports suggest the High Court directive forms part of EOCO’s efforts to preserve assets that may be relevant in its ongoing investigations into alleged financial and procurement-related irregularities by Miracles Aboagye.
A post by Accra-based TV3 on X stated, “High Court has confirmed an order by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to freeze the assets of Dennis Miracles Aboagye amid ongoing investigations”.
