“NPP bigger than all five candidates contesting” – Justin Kodua tells party members

News“NPP bigger than all five candidates contesting” – Justin Kodua tells party members

Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said the party is bigger than all five candidates contesting the flagbearership election.

The NPP General Secretary assured party members that the upcoming presidential primaries will be conducted freely, fairly, and transparently.

According to him, the NPP is bigger than all five candidates, and members must prioritise the long-term interests of the party.

Speaking in an interview with JoyNews, Justin Frimpong stated, “The most important thing that the rank and file of our party must understand is that the NPP is bigger than all those five people who are contesting. At the end of the day, just as we have had several party stakeholders who contested in the previous election, this is their time. They will come, they will go, but the NPP will remain the NPP”.

“At the end of the day, if I lose the election and the processes were not fair, then it gives me the reason to rock the boat. It gives me the reason to stay back and say, ‘Well, you have decided to skew the process to favour a particular person. So, you go and do your own campaign. We don’t want that situation,’” he explained.

“Our supreme interest is to make sure that we go into the election as a united front. Then after the election, we remain as a united front, rather than scheming the process for one particular person,” Mr Frimpong added.

Also, Justin Kodua has declared that the party will contest the upcoming Ayawaso East by-election.

The NPP General Secretary revealed the party has already begun the process of selecting a suitable candidate.

Speaking on JoyNews on Wednesday, January 7, Mr Kodua stated, “Why shouldn’t we contest?” he asked. “The New Patriotic Party will contest the Ayawaso East by-election, and as I speak to you, we are doing our own candidate search to get a very good, well-accepted candidate to contest.”

Justin Kodua extended condolences to the family of the late Member of Parliament and the NDC.

He stated, “First and foremost, let me send my deepest condolences to the family and the NDC as a party”.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspirant, has alleged his opponents are plotting to deploy 50 macho men to each constituency ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, he has the voice recording of the alleged plot.

He boldly declared that if his opponent tries to deploy their planned 50 macho men to each constituency, his team will meet the boot for boot.

Speaking to NPP delegates, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “They are planning to deploy 50 machomen for each constituency. I have the voice, we will meet you boot for boot. Their result, they know if we vote fairly, they are going to lose, so they are deploying Macho men.

I am going to play the voice for everybody to see and hear the bad ideas they have when they are done. They claim Kennedy Agyapong is the one looking for a fight. I don’t like fight I prefer fairness. They are bringing 50 men that day; they will be sorry. I swear to God that day they will be sorry in the Ashanti Region”.

He further added, “We have been intimidated for far too long…, we are one party or the insults that have been mounted on my head, do you think I have not heard them, but I have remained quiet”.

We are one party, it is not everyone who will say something that you are going to like, since I decided to contest, I have been insulted so many times since you advised me, have you heard me replying to them? The intimidation is too much”.
