A Ghanaian resident in Qatar recounts a tense moment after an Iranian missile landed close to his apartment complex, capturing the aftermath in a video.

According to the Ghanaian man, he was asleep at the time one of the missiles exploded near our apartment.

He detailed that fear gripped his neighbourhood as sirens and emergency alerts sounded.

In the viral video shared on X, on social media on Sunday, March 1, 2026, the Ghanaian man in Doha, “One of the missiles exploded near our apartment. It was very powerful, and I could hear the destruction. This happened due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, and more missiles are reportedly coming”.

Also, some Ghanaians in Qatar have been gripped in fear following an Iranian missile and debris that fell near residential areas.

In a viral video, some Ghanaians resident in Qatar were seen outside in fear to sleep following the regional strikes tied to the Iran–US/Israel escalation.

Speaking in a viral video shared on X by CDR Africa, a Ghanaian residing in Qatar stated, “People are scared to sleep, it’s almost 12 am, and everyone is scared to sleep”.

Additionally, Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu has shared a video showing himself stranded in Dubai after civilian airspace was closed following airstrikes involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

According to Kwaku Manu, he travelled to Dubai solely to purchase perfumes to stock his perfume shop, but was caught up in the travel disruption when flights were suspended.

Speaking in a self-recorded video, Kwaku Manu stated, “I came to buy perfumes, we were there, and we got a message, if you connect their Wifi they will give you this message. One of the bombs lost its way and came close to the building. But I know everything will be fine (Kwaku Manu almost broke down in tears). Nothing will happen because of God.

The message that they have sent, I have not gotten such a message before. I just came to buy something. My is not even painful, Zion came through transit whether he likes it or not, he is stuck in this country now”, he added.

The message received by Kwaku Manu read, “Due to current potential missile threats, seek immediate shelter in the closest secure building and steer away from windows, doors and open areas. Await further instructions (MOI)”.

Also, the Embassy of Ghana in Doha, Qatar, has issued an advisory warning to Ghanaian nationals in Qatar amid heightened tensions in the region.

Citizens resident in Doha and other cities in Qatar are urged to seek shelter, remain indoors and avoid areas in close proximity to military sites.

On February 28, 2026, in an official release, the Ghana Embassy in Doha cited a missile attack and its impact in Doha as the basis for the alert.

Part of the statement read, “Due to missile attack and its impact in Doha, please take shelter until further notice, obtain information from official sources”.

The Embassy, in its release, stressed that Ghanaians must stay away from military sites, remain indoors, and avoid crowded areas.

They further encourage Ghanian nationals to keep essential supplies, including medication and food, readily available.

The development follows the United States and Israel, who have attacked Iran.

Iran has reportedly launched retaliatory attacks on multiple American bases, including a Naval Base in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.

All scheduled flights to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have also reportedly been cancelled as the Gulf countries have closed their airspace in light of the attacks.

The BBC in a news report stated, “Explosions have been heard in cities across Iran, according to Iranian media.

The Fars news agency reports that explosions were heard in the cities of Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah.

The news agency has also reported that several missiles hit University Street and the Republic area of the Iranian capital Tehran.

Explosions were heard in two locations in Tehran, the Islamic Republic News Agency also reports. It says that smoke can be seen in the centre of the city”.
