Some Ghanaians in Qatar have been gripped in fear following an Iranian missile and debris that fell near residential areas.
In a viral video, some Ghanaians resident in Qatar were seen outside in fear to sleep following the regional strikes tied to the Iran–US/Israel escalation.
Speaking in a viral video shared on X by CDR Africa, a Ghanaian residing in Qatar stated, “People are scared to sleep, it’s almost 12 am, and everyone is scared to sleep”.
Some Ghanaians reacting to the video stated, “If anything happens to any Ghanaian national in Qatar, Iran will not get it lightly from us. They’re gonna pay with severe force from our army, and it’s gonna be fast, vicious and sweet! We are watching closely with an eagle eye”.
“This is probably their first time seeing this, and they’ll certainly live in fear. Praying nothing bad happens to my countrymen”, a netizen added.
One more Ghanaian added, “I guess this is their first time.. I was asleep by 11 pm and awake by 4 am.. Nothing is going to happen, just stay indoors if you don’t have anywhere to be and if you really have somewhere to go, go.. There’s nothing to be scared of”.
Also, the Embassy of Ghana in Doha, Qatar, has issued an advisory warning to Ghanaian nationals in Qatar amid heightened tensions in the region.
Citizens resident in Doha and other cities in Qatar are urged to seek shelter, remain indoors and avoid areas in close proximity to military sites.
On February 28, 2026, in an official release, the Ghana Embassy in Doha cited a missile attack and its impact in Doha as the basis for the alert.
Part of the statement read, “Due to missile attack and its impact in Doha, please take shelter until further notice, obtain information from official sources”.
The Embassy, in its release, stressed that Ghanaians must stay away from military sites, remain indoors, and avoid crowded areas.
They further encourage Ghanian nationals to keep essential supplies, including medication and food, readily available.
The development follows the United States and Israel, who have attacked Iran.
Iran has reportedly launched retaliatory attacks on multiple American bases, including a Naval Base in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.
All scheduled flights to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have also reportedly been cancelled as the Gulf countries have closed their airspace in light of the attacks.
The BBC in a news report stated, “Explosions have been heard in cities across Iran, according to Iranian media.
The Fars news agency reports that explosions were heard in the cities of Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah.
The news agency has also reported that several missiles hit University Street and the Republic area of the Iranian capital Tehran.
Explosions were heard in two locations in Tehran, the Islamic Republic News Agency also reports. It says that smoke can be seen in the centre of the city”.
“Trump confirms US involved in attack on Iran
US President Donald Trump has posted an eight-minute video on his social media platform, Truth Social and confirms that the US was involved in the attack on Iran.
He said, “we sought repeatedly to make a deal. We tried.”
He added that “we are going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground. It will be totally… obliterated.”
Meanwhile, reports suggest Donald Trump has sent a message to the people of Iran amid US combat operations in the country:
President Trump is quoted to have said, “To the great, proud people of Iran, I say tonight that the hour of your freedom is at hand. Stay sheltered. Don’t leave your home. It’s very dangerous outside; bombs will be dropping everywhere. When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will probably be your only chance for generations. For many years, you have asked for America’s help, but you never got it… Now you have a president who is giving you what you want, so let’s see how you respond.
America is backing you with overwhelming strength and devastating force. Now is the time to seize control of your destiny and to unleash the prosperous and glorious future that is close within your reach. This is the moment for action. Do not let it pass.”
