Prophet Kofi Oduro, the Head Pastor of Alabaster International Ministry, has claimed that only stupidity will trigger anyone to come out and complain about dumsor.

According to Prophet Kofi  Oduro, those who initially expressed loud complaints during the erratic electricity supply have now gone quiet.

The man of God argued that the challenges surrounding the power crisis were linked to the Akosombo Dam, highlighting that the situation was beyond political blame games.

He stressed that Ghanaians should have understood the cuase of the crisis instead of constantly complaining.

Speaking to his congregation in a viral video shared on X, Prophet Kofi Oduro stated, “Fools. You see that after the light became stable, no one has said anything about it, it is only stupidity that will trigger anyone to come out and complain about dumsor”.

“Akosombo got burnt, and no one could say let’s pray, but they were complaining, why? It will take time for the problem to be fixed. So, problems shouldn’t be fixed because you voted? What sort of stupid mindset is that?” he insisted.

Prophet Kofi Oduro’s remarks have led to him facing a backlash over his dumsor.

A netizen stated, “ They are doing politicians’ job for them after they fuc up 😂 that’s the job of all major churches in Africa. Especially Ghana. How is this being defended? Because once u enter church, you lose 99.9 per cent of your brain 🧠 to reason and critically think “.

A netizen added, “Wei y3 Osofo. Nkwasea keka saaa. His hypocrisy is nauseating.

So Ghanaians shouldn’t complain about dumsor because the government is in power. Wei”.

“Thinking it’s stupid to talk about power outage and going to say we should pray for the wires and transfers at Akosombo to function properly is preposterous….the foolish sees himself as wise”, one X user added.

A netizen added, “Pastor this one I don’t agree with you. We live in a country where leaders underperform so if we don’t be on them, we won’t get important things like this done”.

Meanwhile, John Abdulai Jinapor, the Energy and Green Transition Minister, has announced the full restoration of all power generation units following the Akosombo Substation.

According to Dr Jinapor, the restoration effort was achieved after the emergency response teams worked around the clock in difficult circumstances.

In a Facebook post shared on Friday, May 1, the Minister wrote, “Mission accomplished. All generation units are now back in service.

In the face of a major system disruption, and against all odds, our engineers, technicians, and emergency teams worked around the clock to restore power and stabilise the grid.

Through their tireless work, discipline, and commitment to country, power has been restored and system stability secured.

I extend my sincere appreciation to the leadership and staff of GRIDCo, VRA, ECG, and all supporting agencies whose coordination made this possible.

This moment shows that even under pressure, Ghana can rely on the strength and skill of its people.

May God bless our engineers, our energy sector, and our nation”.
