A viral video has surfaced of a 60-year-old father with a disability tying his teenage son to a quad motorbike and dragging him along a tarred road at North Legon in Accra.
Report suggest the teenager reportedly fell onto the tarred road and was dragged for several minutes before some residents intervened and stopped the suspect.
The 16-year-old sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
In a viral video shared by SIKAOFFICIAL, read, “A middle-aged person with a disability has been apprehended by concerned residents and handed over to police authorities at North Legon after tying his six-year-old stepson to a quad bike and dragging him along the ground.
The disturbing incident, triggered by repeated allegations that the child had been breaking into neighbouring homes to swim in their pools and steal metal items for sale as scrap, has left the boy with severe bodily injuries.
In a video clip taken during preliminary questioning by residents, the suspect admitted to the act, stating that persistent complaints from residents regarding the child’s conduct compelled him to take such action”.
Some Ghanaians reacting to the news stated, “@GhPoliceService kindly get this idiot of a disabled man and punish him. If he doesn’t see himself as disabled to comport himself but can do what an abled man won’t even think of, then he equally deserves a directly proportional punishment. Don’t let it slide. Teach him well”.
A netizen added, “As for this disabled man, the less said about him the better.
The sad thing is, it was done on the street where the police station is located”.
“This is downright scandalous and inhumane. Tying a 6-year-old to a quad bike and dragging him on the ground… You simply don’t do that. What a cowardly, disgusting stepfather.
Poor little boy. Hopefully, he gets help, and that man is severely punished. Child abuse is never okay”.
“What an idiot!! Wtf is wrong with people? Even with his disability, look at what he did to his own son… Jail straight!!”, a netizen added.
One x user quizzed, “Is this guy okay upstairs? Is that the kind of punishment you give to your child when he’s wrong? Whatever it is, this is sheer wickedness”.
Additionally, a netizen added, “Like how, you are disabled and wicked too, this life is not fair, man. I hope the police don’t pardon him because of his condition. They should give home a difficult punishment”.

What at all did the 16-year-old son do to deserve this kind of treatment. Tied to a motorcycle and pulled across an asphalt road.

But well we are in Ghana, a country where you can get away with anything so far as you are connected.
He was only arrested because the masses spoke… pic.twitter.com/fn1NZZCq0q
