A video has surfaced on social media showing the President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe battle Parkinson’s disease on live TV following his public revelation.
It will be recalled that the IMANI president, in a Facebook post on Thursday, January 8, 2026, recounted that he earlier told Ghanaians at the beginning of the year that he was living with a movement disorder.
Franklin Cudjoe further announced he has been living with Parkinson’s disease for the past eight years.
Franklin Cudjoe, in his post, wrote, “At the beginning of this year, I did mention that I was living with a movement disorder. Well, folks, it is Parkinsons. I had been living with it for the past eight years. My doctors in Ghana, neurologists in fact, ( And we have very few of them in Ghana ) have been very supportive .
Through the generous support of very close acquaintances, I have also been seeking medical care abroad. Parkinsons has no cure, but it won’t kill you. It can only be managed with expensive medication and lifestyle adjustment ( diet and physical exercises, especially). Many thanks to all who have shown concern”.
He further added, “I am determined to raise awareness and continue to support the Parkinson’s support group in Ghana.
Once again, please avoid prolonged exposure to chemicals, and please go for a clinical assessment once you notice changes in your physical movements. It may also be hereditary, although research shows that it is less than 10%
Keep well”.
In the viral video shared on X following his announcement, Franklin Cudjoe was captured in a video interview with TV3, battling Parkinson’s disease on live TV.
Some netizens reacting to the viral video wrote, “He’s a hypocrite, stomach direction critic and a clown”.
Another X user added, “I blame @tv3_ghana for showing the video instead of a phone call. There is a condition he finds himself in, which could happen to everyone. My take is purely on his situation now”.
“He needs to stay away from politics and the screens for a while. This is embarrassing! Speedy recovery”, a netizen suggested.
Additionallt an X user added, “He will never accept this with a good heart. I know my Uncle he knows most of the Npp bots here want him dead. Say that to your abusuapayin, he’s nearing his grave”.
Meanwhile, in related news, Franklin Cudjoe has praised the work done by GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi, Finance Minister Dr Ato Forson and BoG Governor Dr Asiama.
According to Franklin Cudjoe, Sammy Gyamfi, Ato Forson, and Dr Asiama are true patriots.
He highlighted that Sammy Gyamfi, who is leading Goldbod, has brought Ghana substantial reserves, which have helped Ghana service its debts.
Franklin Cudjoe further suggested that Ghana loan money to the IMF to help the less-endowed countries.
In a post on X, Franklin Cudjoe wrote, “But seriously, Sammy Gyamfi, Ato Forson and Dr Asiama are true patriots. The Goldbod has brought us substantial reserves, which have not only helped absorb the huge losses Ghana incurred through the G4O programme, but also helped with our debt service obligations”.
He further noted that Ato Forson has reduced Ghana’s debt to GDP from 61% of GDP to 45% in just a year.
“It is instructive to note that the Finance Minister has diligently reduced the debt of Ghana ftom 61% of GDP to 45% in a year!!
I think we should be loaning money to the IMF, so they can help other less-endowed countries”, he added.
