A viral video has surfaced on social media, capturing a disturbing incident at Nchiraa Senior High School (SHS) in the Bono Region of a senior student physically assaulting a junior student over an alleged missing mobile phone.
In the viral video, the confrontation took place in an open area near the school’s water tank.
The senior student was captured in the video repeatedly slapping the junior student, who was seated near a polytank, accusing him of having the phone in his possession.
The senior student continues to slap, kick, and punch the junior student, with other students seen standing nearby, watching the situation unfold without intervening.
The video also captured the junior student’s attempts to move away from the area.
However, the senior student followed him and continued the assault.
The senior student was also heard daring the victim to bring along any group or gang if he believes he has support.
The video shared by askghmedia was captioned, “A senior student of Nchiraa Senior High School in the Bono Region has been captured on camera assaulting a junior student over a missing mobile phone.
The confrontation reportedly stemmed from a disagreement about the phone, with the senior student bypassing school authorities and handling the matter personally”.
The viral video has sparked outrage online, with many social media users condemning the act, saying, “To be honest, if the guy he slapped were my younger brother, then next day anka bluud go flow brutaaa. People like this need to be properly disciplined because such behaviour can continue outside the school and lead to bigger problems. I’m just glad no one ever laid a hand on my brothers when they were in school”.
A netizen added, “This is totally wrong… Why should he slapped the innocent boy? This is serious”.

In other news, the Education Ministry has suspended graduation ceremonies across all Senior High Schools (SHS) over the recent excessive display of wealth.
According to the Education Ministry, schools are institutions for learning, discipline and character development, and graduation ceremonies should rather mirror modesty and dignity rather than luxury.
The education minister, Haruna Iddrisu, called for the GES to suspend all SHS graduation ceremonies with immediate effect, pending a review of existing guidelines.
In a statement issued by the education minister’s Press Secretary, Hashmin Mohammed, on June 20, 2026, read, “The Ministry strongly condemns any conduct by students, parents, guardians, or other stakeholders that promotes extravagance and detracts from the true purpose of school ceremonies”.
“Consequently, the Honourable Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has directed the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to suspend all Senior High School graduation ceremonies nationwide with immediate effect, pending a review of existing guidelines governing such events,” the release added.
