A video has surfaced on social media of a surreal moment of some female cooks taking photos with former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
In the video shared on X by The State News, Akufo-Addo paused for photo sessions with cooks in their traditional white apparel, flooded him with their phones.
Akufo-Addo was also spotted beaming with smiles as he posed for the evening pictures with the cooks.
While they were taking the selfies, one of the ladies turned to the right cheek of the former president and planted her kiss on it.
Some Ghanaians reacting to the video stated, “He was truly loved as an individual, but as a president he did worse… the appointees and his inner circles didn’t help him at all”.
One X user added, “At least that’s why I love being a Ghanaian
Regardless of our party colours, we always want to have pictures with very prominent people in society”.
A netizen stated, “They said he’s a wicked man, now I’m just realising it was just because he didn’t share the nation’s money with a few bloggers and influencers but rather used it to help all, especially the needy, so they demonised him and called the one that will give them money a good person”.
“There are things I see, and I thank God always for the LOVE that coexist between the majority of Ghanaians irrespective of the differences (religion, political, tribe, etc.) it is so beautiful that even though our leaders haven’t been fair to us (both), but we still have hope& love”, a netizen added.
An X user added, “I may not have liked certain actions or inactions on how he approached issues while in office, but that does not take away the fact that he has a solid personality and he is just a human. Even at 82, look at him. He is looking good”.
In related news, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has told the NDC-led John Mahama government that the stalled Agenda 111 hospitals must be completed.
According to Akufo-Addo, the completion and operationalisation of the stalled Agenda 111 hospitals will boost Ghana’s healthcare.
Akufo-Addo made this known while speaking over the weekend at the launch of the Kyebi Government Hospital’s centenary celebrations.
The event was organised by the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional State and the Kyebi Government Hospital.
Akufo-Addo stated, “We must also be honest, not every project was realised, not every project was completed. At some facilities, we reached advanced stages that could not be finished before our term ended.
Agenda 111 must be continued. Continuity, not disruption, is how health systems succeed,” he said.
It will be recalled that Agenda 111 was a flagship under the former Akufo-Addo government, which was designed to construct 111 hospitals nationwide to bridge gaps in access to medical care.
