A lawyer for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, Frank Davies, has fumed at private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu, over some claims he made against his client on live radio.

Frank Davies slammed Martin Kpebu for saying Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng should have gone to the airport, calling Ken Ofori-Atta a thief and arresting him.

According to Frank Davies, when Martin Kpebu talks, he wonders whether he is a lawyer, a carpenter, or even a bricklayer.

Frank Davies slammed Martin Kpebu for talking like a street boy and not a lawyer.

Speaking on JOYFM, Frank Davies stated, “When the likes of Martin Kpebu talk, you wonder whether they are lawyers. I am sorry to say this, but when he talks, you wonder whether they are lawyers or Carpenters or masons or a bricklayer.

Look at what he is saying. What does he understand by due process? He is talking like a street boy, that ‘thief thief’ is that how a lawyer talks? So, when the man has not been charged, what does Martin Kpebu expect him to do? When he was arrested by the Office of the Special Prosecutor, he was screaming that he had not been allowed to call his wife. This is the kind of person who is condemning Ken.

When people like him talk the way he is talking, then Lawyers are cut out for blame because he is not talking like a lawyer. I listened to Amanda Cliton, and we are all talking about due process and the rule of law, not Martin Kpebu’s jibberish.

How can a lawyer talk this way? Kissi Agyabeng should have gone to the airport to physically arrest Ken Ofori-Atta. I don’t want to use language that you normally use on your colleagues, but I have more honour and integrity. Next time, when you come on the radio and speak, stick to the script”.
