More chilling details have emerged of the stabbing of Gilda Nortey by her husband, former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, in the United States.
According to the Court affidavit details, Gilda Nortey arrived naked at the Pennsylvania State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Centre after sustaining stab wounds. This was confirmed by a staff member at the Pennsylvania State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Centre, who contacted the police around 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
The affidavit also stated that when police arrived at the crime scene, all five children, aged between 5 and 17 years, were still in the house.
The affidavit document further implicates the former NPP PC Nortey, who attempted to wash the blood off the knife after police responded to the scene.
Parts of the Court affidavit, as quoted by reports stated, “Staff at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Centre called Paxton police at about 9:15 a.m. Saturday, after a naked woman with stab wounds arrived at their emergency room”.
“According to the affidavit, Nortey admitted to Officer Logan Becker that he stabbed his wife at their home.”
“The couple’s five children, aged 5 to 17, were home at the time of the stabbing and were still there when Nortey went to the police department.
“After Nortey provided police with the front door code to the house, officers entered the residence and found a black Home Hero-brand knife in the kitchen sink, which they believe was used in the stabbing. The court document stated that the knife appeared to have been washed and had no visible blood on it.”
In the meantime, Judge Wendy Grella has adjourned the case to February 2, 2026, after Valentino Nii Noi Nortey’s appearance in court on January 26, 2026.
Meanwhile, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey was arrested in the United States for allegedly stabbing his wife.
According to reports, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey has been remanded into custody in Pennsylvania, USA.
Reports from Lower Paxton Township Police reveal the incident occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, along Mayfair Drive in Pennsylvania.
On Monday, a statement released by the police provided an update, saying, “The woman was taken to the hospital by first responders and is currently in stable condition,” police confirmed, further clarifying that the event was an isolated domestic incident and that “there was never any threat to the public.”
According to abc27.com, the stabbing was part of a domestic incident.
Valentino Nii Noi Nortey is facing charges such as Criminal Attempt – Homicide, Possessing an Instrument of Crime with Intent to Use and Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence.
Records show that the former NPP MP was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Judy and was denied bail due to the homicide charge and the circumstances of the arrest.
