A young man has reportedly died after allegedly stabbing himself during an attempt to demonstrate spiritual powers.
The deceased has been identified as Sheihu, in his early twenties
Reports suggest the tragic incident occurred in Salaga in the Savannah Region during the annual Fire Festival celebrations on June 24, 2026.
According to accounts from witnesses, the man appeared to be attempting to demonstrate what many perceived as extraordinary or supernatural powers in front of the crowd, but turn tragic.
Reports suggest a resident at the scene rushed to assist him before he was transported to the Salaga Government Hospital for emergency medical attention.
However, Sheihu was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The news shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on X read, “A young man known as Sheihu has reportedly died in the Savanna Region, after allegedly stabbing himself during an attempt to demonstrate spiritual powers at an event held as part of Salaga’s annual Fire Festival celebrations.
He reportedly sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the Salaga Government Hospital, but was later pronounced dead”.
In related news, some months ago, a mining town in the Central Region was mourning the death of their chief Mmratehene of Ayanfuri after he accidentally shot himself to death with a pump-action gun.
Reports suggest the traditional ruler lost his life after he accidentally shot himself while performing at a funeral ceremony.
In a viral video shared on X, the chief was dancing while holding the pump-action gun, and another man was spraying cash on him.
The chief later pointed the gun at his chest and could be seen occasionally pressing the trigger, but the gun did not fire.
He again pointed the gun at his shoulder, pulling the trigger; this time, the gun fired with the bullet hitting his chest, forcing him to the ground.
The video post shared by Ghana Chronicles was captioned, “ TRAGEDY: Nana Kwabena Okyere, Mmratehene of Ayanfuri, has reportedly died after accidentally shooting himself with a pump-action gun during a funeral ceremony.
He was rushed for treatment, but sadly did not survive”.
