An Immigration officer, Richard Kwabena Mensah Kwafo, has been accused of assaulting his alleged ex-girlfriend, Dorothy Laryea.
According to Dorothy Laryea, she has endured repeated abuse and threats during the relationship.
Reports suggest Dorothy Laryea ended the relationship for her own safety following physical abuse and threats.
The State News, which shared the news on their X page, wrote, “Immigration officer Richard Kwabena Mensah Kwafo has been accused of assaulting his alleged ex-girlfriend, Dorothy Laryea.
Dorothy alleges that she endured repeated abuse and threats during the relationship, forcing her to end it for her own safety.
She further claims that on 31 December 2025, after attending a service at the Church of Pentecost, Dr Wyatt Assembly, Kokomlemle, she encountered Richard on the church premises. According to her, he arrived in a blue-black Toyota Corolla without a number plate and demanded to speak with her privately”.
Some Ghanaians reacting to the viral video stated, “Any Man assaulting women, it shows you’re so weak and an attention seeker idiot who fears being alone. Strong Men just move on and find peace in being alone and chasing their purpose than women!!!”.

One more Ghanaian added, “@GhPoliceService any form of abuse against women shouldn’t and must not be tolerated. If your heart can love and be patient with a woman, please go your way. Aban look sharp. cc @MoGCSP_Ghana @joyce_bawah”
A netizen wrote, “fair question; since day one of abuse, why didn’t she walk away? Did she owe the man? It can’t be my sisters, and I can’t be the man either. The moment I notice any abusive words or actions i walk away as a man cus my retaliation may end me up where I shouldn’t be cus of you”.
In related news, AICO1 Ahmed Abdul Samad, an officer of the Ghana Immigration Service, has been busted by the Ghana Police Service.
The Immigration officer was arrested in connection with the transportation of over 2,000 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition and bulletproof vests intercepted in the Ashanti Region.
Reports suggest the Upper East Police requested the release of AICO1 Samad by the Immigration Service after its investigations fingered him as the main suspect.
The suspect, a native of Nalerigu, was stationed at the Paga Sector Command of the Ghana Immigration Service.
According to a Police statement, during interrogation, AICO1 Ahmed Abdul Samad denied knowledge of the ammunition.
Parts of the police statement read, “During interrogation, the suspect disclosed that he was a dispatch rider at the Tema Regional Immigration Head Office. That, in the month of June 2025, he was transferred to Paga Sector Command and left his body armour plate and old black long boots behind.
“On 26/12/2025, he asked one Isaac, also an Immigration officer at the main headquarters, Accra, to send the body armour to him. That Isaac agreed and parcelled body armour plate, long black boots, ballistic helmet, electric diffuser and disco bulb, and gave them to OA Bus with registration number GT 5771-18”.
It added, “The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects for unlawful possession of 2,600 AK-47 ammunition and related accoutrements at the Kantanso–Asankare Police Barrier in the Ashanti Region.
“The suspects, Kwame Afram, a bus driver, and Godfred Essel, a mate, were arrested on 26th December 2025 when police officers on duty intercepted a Kia Grand Bird bus with registration number GT 5771-18 at the Kantanso–Asankare Police Barrier while travelling from Accra towards Walewale en route to Paga”.
