New details are emerging regarding the controversies surrounding Ghanaian fashion icon Nana Akua Addo and her husband, Harold Norman.
Reports suggest that Nana Akua Addo’s husband is being criticised on social media over allegations that he physically abused their 13-year-old daughter. he may not have been the only parent accused of physically assaulting their daughter.
A video cited on YouTube also alleges that Nana Akua Addo has also been accused of subjecting her daughter to trauma.
Reports suggest the incident dates back to February 2, 2016, when Nana Akua Addo allegedly physically abused their daughter, Jesusa Norman, who was three years old at the time.
Dr Ibrahim Bin Mohammed, in a medical report signed by the Medical Officer of the LEKMA Hospital, alleged that Nana Akua Addo allegedly assaulted her three-year-old daughter, who has special needs.
The doctor further disclosed that Nana Akua Addo showed no sign of remorse after allegedly subjecting her three-year-old daughter to a series of abuse.
Additionally, a series of phone chats between Jesusa and her father, Nana Akua Addo’s daughter, have surfaced were the daughter narrated how she had allegedly been subjected to constant abuse by her mother.
In the chats, Jesusa allegedly complained that she believed she was hated by her mother.
“I have never cried for mommy before, but today, I know she hates me and my sister,” Jesusa told her father.
Nana Akua Addo’s daughter in that same conversation was seen complaining to her father that she and her sister had allegedly been starved by their mother.
“Me and Katriel are going to die of hunger. She thinks we don’t have our phone.”
The father later asked Jesusa if she had eaten, when she stated, “No, but we have eaten in the morning, but evening, no. And tomorrow there’s no food there, and she said she does not care. She and the neighbours were insulting Katie and Katie”.
Meanwhile, in other footage, Jesusa, together with one of Nana Akua Addo’s children, was seen showing scars on their bodies to their father, Harold Norman.
The children in the video alleged that their mother had been beating them with wires.
“She mostly beat me with wires. Most of them were bruises, but they are gone. I heard she (Nana Akua Addo) was going to Nigeria”, they stated.
Meanwhile, The Ghana Police Service has disclosed that the husband of Nana Akua Addo, who was arrested over alleged physical, emotional and economic abuse and was expected to appear in court today, has reportedly been hospitalised.
According to the Police, the accused person, Harold Norman, was arrested on 27th August after his wife petitioned the CID over the alleged abuse.
The Police disclosed he was subsequently granted police enquiry bail with two sureties.
His lawyer informed the police that he had been admitted to hospital. DOVVSU officers have since visited the facility to verify the claim and will ensure his appearance after his discharge.
In a statement dated Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the Police stated, “
1. On 20th August 2026, the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) received a petition from Rosemond Akua Adobea alleging that her husband had subjected her to physical, emotional and economic abuse,
2. Preliminary investigations revealed that a case involving the couple had previously been handled by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Lakeside and Ministries Police Stations in July 2026.
3. Following receipt of the petition, the suspect, Harold Norman, was arrested on 27th August 2026 at his residence to assist with investigations. A caution statement was subsequently obtained from him, and on 29th August, 2026 he was granted a Police enquiry bail with two sureties while investigation continued,
4. The accused person, due to be put before court today, was, however, his lawyer notified Police that his client had been admitted at the hospital and was therefore unable to appear before the court as had been scheduled.
5. Investigators from DOVVSU have visited the said hospital to verify the claim and are monitoring the situation to ensure he is arraigned immediately upon discharge from the hospital,
6. The Criminal Investigation Department is working with the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection to ensure the provision of social welfare services for the victim and the children.
7. The Ghana Police Service remains committed to protecting victims of domestic violence and ensuring that complaints brought before the Service are investigated professionally and fairly”.
