Nana Adjei, a New Patriotic Party(NPP) communicator, has boldly told the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) that their grassroots are bleeding and crying.

The NPP highlighted that the dissatisfaction and hardship within the country are affecting even supporters within the ruling party.

According to Nana Adjei, there is frustration within the NDC grassroots due to unmet expectations by the John Mahama government.

He further quizzed the John Mahama-led government on where their flagship 24-Hour Economy policy is.

The NPP man slammed the government over the implementation of its proposed 24-hour economy policy, highlighting that it has been all talk and no results.

He further quizzed why the 24-hour secretariat responsible for the policy operates within normal working hours despite promoting a 24-hour work system.

Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi, Nana Adjei stated, “The 24-hour economy secretariat works from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are preaching a 24-hour economy, then show it by example”.

“It has been 16 months, and they have done nothing. They promised Ghanaians this, and they have still not delivered,” he said.

Nana Adjei added, “The promise was not about building markets. There is no evidence yet for what they promised”.

He further questioned some initiatives and structures that the governing National Democratic Congress promised Ghanaians.

“The women’s bank, they promised, where is it?” he asked.

“Even within the NDC party, people are suffering. There are no jobs for anyone,” he alleged.

“Nothing is going well at that party. The grassroots are bleeding and crying,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu and Minister for Energy, has told disgruntled supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to exercise patience with the government.

The Yapei Kusawgu MP acknowledged growing expectations for jobs and economic support but urged supporters not to resort to violence.

Speaking to NDC party faithful during the NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah’s thank-you tour in the Savannah Region, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor stated, “I will plead with you to be patient with the government. We are barely two years in office. We know you need jobs, we know you need businesses”.

John Jinapor highlighted that the Mahama government has already begun implementing interventions to support farmers and improve livelihoods.

He stated, “This year, I have funded the purchase of 2,000 bags of fertiliser and 2,000 bags of weedicides to help farmers. So please exercise patience for the party”.

“If we are sharing while in office, it is just a matter of time, everybody will get some, but when we use violence, and it lands the party in opposition, it will be our loss,” he added.
