Joana Quaye, the estranged wife of Ghanaian businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye (RNAQ), has made fresh allegations about their marriage, claiming she provided 90 per cent of the seed capital used to establish Quick Credit, a financial services company associated with her former husband.

In a soon-to-be-aired interview, Joana opened up about her alleged financial contribution to the business, as well as some of the difficulties she says she experienced during their marriage.

According to Joana Quaye, she played a significant role in financing the establishment of Quick Credit, insisting that the initial capital for the business largely came from her.

Speaking in the soon-to-be-aired interview, Joana Quaye spoke about her financial contribution to the establishment of Quick Credit and some of the experiences she had during her relationship with the businessman.

Joan Quaye stated, “90% of the seed capital for Quick Credit was my money”.

Beyond the financial claims, Joana also accused the businessman of physically abusing her during their marriage.

According to her, Richard Nii Armah Quaye allegedly used the metal hook of his belt to assault her.

“My ex-husband used to beat me with his belt hook,” she alleged.

Joana Quaye’s comments are expected to draw further attention to the ongoing marital dispute, particularly the competing issues surrounding the establishment of Quick Credit and her experiences during the relationship.

In related news, reports suggest RNAQ has failed to renew the rent for a house secured for his ex-wife, Joana Quaye, and their children, leaving them without accommodation.

According to reports, the children are reportedly receiving shelter support from philanthropists following the development.

The situation marks a fresh twist in the couple’s ongoing divorce dispute, with the rent on the house RNAQ was reportedly compelled by the court to secure for Joana during the divorce proceedings having expired.

In September, Joana Quaye’s lawyers, Dame and Partners, stated that their client had yet to take possession of several assets awarded to her, including access to one-third of the couple’s matrimonial home and a 2014-registered Jaguar saloon car.

The lawyers alleged that RNAQ had refused to grant her access to the property and the vehicle.

The seven-bedroom matrimonial home has reportedly been locked up for renovation, while Joana is yet to receive the car. She currently drives an old Daewoo Matiz, which she uses for school runs and her daily activities.

Meanwhile, Dame and Partners has filed an injunction application at the High Court seeking to prevent RNAQ from transferring, selling or otherwise dealing with assets acquired during the couple’s marriage between 2010 and 2025.

The assets covered by the application reportedly include houses, vehicles and other properties acquired during their marriage.

The dispute over the couple’s assets has also drawn attention to the origins of Bills Micro Credit. Evidence presented in court has reportedly indicated that Joana’s earnings contributed to the establishment of the business, which is now part of the wider disagreement over the division of assets acquired during their marriage.
