The murder case at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija, involving the killing of a 54-year-old car dealer, Mohammed Rahman, has taken a twist with a gun stolen from Ghana international footballer Asamoah Gyan identified as the murder weapon.
According to a Crime Check TV report published on August 28, 2026, a pistol allegedly stolen from the residence of former Ghana international footballer Asamoah Gyan was used in the killing.
Two brothers, Adams Adder Almeida and Bala Bilyon, are currently standing trial in connection with the August 6, 2026 shooting.
The brothers are also facing separate proceedings over an alleged robbery at Asamoah Gyan’s residence.
According to the report, the suspects allegedly robbed the former Black Stars captain’s residence at gunpoint and made away with a pistol, jewellery and other valuables.
The pistol allegedly stolen during the robbery is believed to be the same weapon used in the shooting of Mohammed Rahman.
According to reports, Rahman died after sustaining gunshot wounds, while his 53-year-old wife, Christiana Fosu, was also shot and rushed to hospital for treatment.
The Police disclosed that Adams allegedly admitted during interrogation to shooting the couple.
Investigators claimed he was motivated by repeated comments allegedly made by Rahman, whom he accused of describing him as “lazy and useless.”
The Police stated, “According to the suspect, he was motivated by his perception that the deceased had repeatedly described him as lazy and useless, which he claimed had affected him mentally”.
Investigators further revealed that Adams allegedly led them to a room in Tuba, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was found beneath a wardrobe belonging to his brother, Bala.
Bala, who police said worked with the deceased, was subsequently arrested as investigations continued.
Police also said Adams claimed the pistol had been given to him by a friend identified only as Gideon, who is also reportedly standing trial in connection with the alleged robbery at Asamoah Gyan’s residence.
Meanwhile, the two brothers are therefore facing separate proceedings in connection with the alleged robbery at Asamoah Gyan’s residence and the murder of Mohammed Rahman, while investigations into the case continue.
In other news, the Western Regional Police Command has announced the arrest of five suspects in connection with the robbery and murder of a 40-year-old gold buyer at Agona Fie near Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region.
The deceased gold buyer has been identified as Seth Kobina, who was shot in the chest during an attack on his gold-buying shop on Thursday, August 20.
The Police disclosed that the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. when armed men attacked the shop and shot Mr Kobina.
The deceased was rushed to the Agona Nkwanta Hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.
