“Kpebu’s continued insults and obstructive behaviour led to his arrest” – OSP

0

Sammy Darko, the Director of Strategy, Communication, and Research at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), has clarified the issues surrounding the incident involving Martin Kpebu’s arrest.

According to Sammy Darko, Martin Kpebu, insults and obstructive behaviour led to his arrest, which had nothing to do with the ongoing inquiry into allegations Mr Kpebu has made against Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

Sammy Darko revealed that Martin Kpebu told OSP officials they are nobodies, even their boss, Kissi Agyebeng, is a nobody who will be removed soon.

In a Facebook post, Sammy Darko narrated, “

What Actually Happened at the OSP Premises

1. Events at the Gate

Upon arriving, Mr Kpebu parked his vehicle and stepped outside the gate to conduct an interview. He always does this, brings in media men to speak to them before entering and after exiting. Security personnel cautioned him to move away from the entrance, so he moved to the fried yam seller’s spot and continued speaking to the media. Afterwards, he entered the compound alone. The guards reminded him that photography and videography are not permitted around the premises.

2. Escalation and Arrest

He reacted angrily to the reminder and insulted the guards. They issued a formal warning about his conduct, but he insisted he could act as he pleased and threatened to report them. He told them they are nobodies, even their boss, the head of the agency, is a nobody and will be removed soon. His continued insults and obstructive behaviour led to his arrest for the offence of obstruction of officers in the performance of their duties. He was informed of his arrest on suspicion of obstruction, in accordance with the law. The arrest was executed without force, and there is no internal record of any assault or mistreatment.

Bail, Processing, and Conduct of Counsel

1. Bail Granted

Following the arrest, bail was granted according to standard administrative procedures. The conditions were explained to him and his counsel. However, one of the lawyers refused to leave the premises until Mr Kpebu was brought back. She insulted officers and caused a scene, all of which was recorded. Despite her behaviour, officers removed her gently and without force. Their professionalism deserves commendation.

2. Transfer to Holding Area

Mr Kpebu was transferred to a secured holding area as part of normal processing. Public concerns have been raised about the detention location, but internal records show that all transfers followed protocol. At no point was he denied access to counsel or due process.

No Trap — Just Accountability

Finally, the claim that the OSP “fell into a trap” is unfounded. The Office has not fallen for any trap. It has simply applied the law to protect its personnel and maintain order on its premises.

The message is clear: connections, public influence, or media prominence do not place anyone above the law. If this was intended as a trap, then the OSP passed—because it acted strictly within legal and procedural bounds.  Such unruly behaviour would result in an immediate arrest at any law enforcement facility. Could he attempt this at the Police Headquarters or the NIB Headquarters?

Mr Kpebu is expected to report this morning at 11 am after bail was granted last night for further investigations on the offence of obstruction of justice.

A different date will be announced for the continuation of the enquiry into his allegation of corruption”.

Meanwhile, Martin Kpebu, a Private legal practitioner, was released from the custody of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

According to reports, Lawyer Kpebu spent nearly five hours in the custody of the OSP.

The incident follows the ongoing back-and-forth between Martin Kpebu and the Special Prosecutor over his handling of corruption-related cases in the country.

“I have cursed NDC” – NPP’s Akua Afriyie

0

Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, a former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, has revealed she has cursed the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, she has put a curse on the NDC over their role in denying her victory in the Ablekuma North parliamentary election rerun.

Speaking to the media during the launch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) amended constitution on Tuesday, December 3, 2025, she stated, “I have cursed the NDC for what they did to me at Ablekuma. God is a just God, and I know they will pay for it.”

“I won the Ablekuma North elections, and I keep repeating I won with 414 votes, and the original pink sheet bears me out.

“I’m not in Parliament today only because my party is not in power, and someone thinks her party is in power, and so she would take the seat from me by force. We went to court, and the judge asked us to return to the EC, but because it wasn’t my party in power, they orchestrated for the EC to rerun the elections in 19 polling stations,” she alleged.

Some netizens reacting to her comments stated, “So after losing the seat, the strategy is curses now? Under the NPP, even election defeats turn into spiritual warfare. Maybe if they had focused this much energy on governance, they wouldn’t be relying on shrines for political comebacks”.

One more netizen stated, “She dey look like the curse”.

Another added, “Madam, please go to the Ofankor-Nsawam road construction site. The stone you are talking about has been crushed into chippings for the road. That’s what Mahama went there to inspect today”.

“Some of you talk as if you sat at the same desk with God. You?

You think you can pronounce curses anyhow? Ah well!”, one more X user added.

One X user added, “These people are just paid to talk and get something to eat, it’s hard in Ghana oo. The guy at the back there was in his previous interview. He couldn’t even explain the reason why they were at that conference, they made but just talking anyhow because for some jollof & small cash bi”

It will be recalled that a rerun was conducted by the Electoral Commission in 19 polling stations, which overturned Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie’s initial lead and ended the NPP’s 28-year dominance in the constituency.

Ewurabena Aubynn of the NDC won the Ablekuma North parliamentary seat, defeating the NPP candidate, Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, by a narrow margin of 209 votes.

“I will petition for Kissi Agyebeng’s removal; I have 15 allegations against him” – Lawyer Kpebu

0

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has echoed his resolve to petition President John Dramani Mahama for the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng from Office.

Martin Kpebu revealed he has fifteen allegations against Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

Speaking to TV3 shortly after his release, Lawyer Kpebu stated, “I know I have not done anything wrong, so I knew I would be released”.

He revealed that his arrest stemmed from a verbal confrontation with a military officer stationed at the OSP.

Mr Kpebu recounted, “Then the next thing, the soldier said I am stupid, so I also turned and said he is also stupid, and so we exchanged words”.

“I know I have not done anything wrong, so I knew I would be released,” he stated.

“Then a colleague of his, another soldier, shouted that next time I do that, I will see. In Ghanaian English, ‘you will see’ means he will cause me some harm, or there will be consequences, even if not physical.

So I turned and gave the same answer; he had no right. I’m not a suspect, and even if I was, could he do that? So I said he had no right”.

“Then the next thing I knew, he said I’m stupid. That’s what the soldier said. So I turned back and told him he is also stupid. We exchanged a few words, and then one of my lawyers pulled me so we could go in,” he added, stating he would never attack any officer who had done nothing to him.

He added that his arrest confirms that Kissi Agyebeng is incompetent.

“I will petition for his removal. I have 15 allegations against him,” he once again revealed.

Meanwhile, Mr Marcellinus Biah, one of the lawyers of Martin Kpebu, told News 360, the OSP officials charged Mr Kpebu with obstructing an officer of the Special Prosecutor.

He narrated, “ So, this afternoon at about two o’clock, we attended the invitation of the Office of the Special Prosecutor to assist them in investigations. So, while we were at the premises, Martin granted an interview outside the premises of the Office of the Special Prosecutor and returned. So, it appears that one of the officers, that is, the police officer at the gate, was not too happy with Martin granting an interview outside the premises of the Office of the Special Prosecutor. Martin actually told him that, no, there was nothing wrong with him granting an interview and subsequently attending to the inquiry.

He continued, “And so there was some amount of altercation between, verbal exchange between him and the officer. Thereafter, Martin proceeded to attend to the inquiry committee. So while we were, I mean, having discussions with the inquiry committee, in the course of that, they told Martin that he had actually obstructed an officer of the Special Prosecutor, and for that matter, he was going to be charged.

Meanwhile, let me be quick to add that when the altercation took place, Martin was the first to even request to make a complaint against the third officer. But we’re told that the complaint centre was not available to take our complaints. So, Martin proceeded to the inquiry board committee and presented a complaint before them.”

Mr Biah added that “He also insisted that the matter should be dealt with even before we could attend to the substantive matter. So we were quite surprised that in the course of the proceedings, the officers went down, up and down, came back and told us that Martin was under arrest because they had gone to investigate the matter that Martin was rather the one at fault. And for that matter, they were charging him with the offence of obstructing an officer of the Special Prosecutor.

That’s the charge. Yes. So eventually they said he was briefly admitted to bail. In addition to that, he was to present one surety. So, I quickly drove back to the office, which is just about 10 10-minute drive.

They whisked him away. As we speak now, we are unable to tell where Mr Kpebu is.”

“The military officer said I am stupid, I also said he is stupid” – Kpebu details reason behind his OSP detention

0

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has shared details of the events that led to his detention at the Office of the Special Prosecutor(OSP) on December 3, 2025.

According to Martin Kpebu, a military officer stationed at the OSP called him stupid, and he also replied by calling him stupid, which led to a heated exchange of words.

He asserted that his detention was needless.

Mr Kpebu echoed his resolve to petition President Mahama for the removal of Mr Kissi Agyebeng from Office.

“I will petition for his removal. I have 15 allegations against him,” he once again revealed.

This follows an earlier news report yesterday, December 3, 2025, that the Private legal practitioner had honoured an invitation to the OSP earlier that day to assist in investigations.

Berla Mundi, who shared details of the arrest in a post on X, stated, “Marcellinus Biah, one of the lawyers of Martin Kpebu, told News 360 that around 2 pm today, they honoured an invitation to the OSP to aid with some investigations.

Martin granted an interview outside the premises of the office of the Special Prosecutor and then went back into the building. One of the officers was not happy with the interview, but Martin challenged him, insisting there was nothing wrong. It led to an altercation after which Martin was arrested and charged with the offence of obstructing an officer of the OSP.

He was then given bail conditions which required him to provide documents showing a landed property in his personal name and one surety.

His lawyers proceeded to obtain the documents from their office,  only to return and find out that Martin had been whisked away to an unknown location”.

Lawyer Kpebu released from OSP detention after 5 hours in custody

Martin Kpebu, a Private legal practitioner, has been released from the custody of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

According to reports, Lawyer Kpebu spent nearly five hours in the custody of the OSP.

News broke yesterday, December 3, 2025, that the Private legal practitioner had honoured an invitation to the OSP earlier that day to assist in investigations.

Mr Marcellinus Biah, one of the lawyers of Martin Kpebu, told News 360, the OSP officials charged Mr Kpebu with obstructing an officer of the Special Prosecutor.

He narrated, “ So, this afternoon at about two o’clock, we attended the invitation of the Office of the Special Prosecutor to assist them in investigations. They whisked him away. As we speak now, we are unable to tell where Mr Kpebu is.”

Reports suggest Martin Kpebu could not be questioned by the OSP after he was arrested and remained in police custody.

The incident follows the ongoing back-and-forth between Martin Kpebu and the Special Prosecutor over his handling of corruption-related cases in the country.

Speaking to TV3 shortly after his release, Lawyer Kpebu stated, “I know I have not done anything wrong, so I knew I would be released”.

Former NSA boss Osei Assibey likely to spend Christmas in custody – Paul Yandoh

0

Paul Yandoh, the Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said the former Executive Director of the National Service Authority, Osei Assibey Antwi, is likely to spend Christmas in custody.

It will be recalled, Osei Assibey has been accused of authorising payments to over 60,000 non-existent national service personnel and misappropriating public funds.

The former NSS boss is facing multiple counts under sections “179A(1) and 124(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and section 1(2)(c) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2020 (Act 1044)”.

Prosecutors allege that the former NSA boss “willfully caused financial loss of GH¢500,861,744.02 to the Republic by authorising the payment of allowances to over 60,000 “ghost” service personnel between August 2021 and February 2025. Also facing six counts of stealing.

The theft includes, “GH¢3.6 million on August 22, 2023, GH¢516,000 each on September 11, October 26, and November 23, 2023, GH¢1.03 million on December 18, 2023, GH¢2.06 million on May 14, 2024.

He has also been accused of transferring GH¢8.26 into his personal account.

The charge sheet also cites “unauthorised withdrawals from the Kumawu Farm Project account (No. 1018631542212), amounting to GH¢74 million”.

Speaking on Ezra Adekyee, Paul Yandoh noted that Osei Assibey Antwi’s bail conditions are hefty.

He stated, “The allegations against him are grave. Considering the hefty bail conditions, I feel he will spend Christmas in custody.”

“It depends on the closeness of the relationship. But regardless, we would ensure we show up to express support for him,” he said.

Meanwhile, the High Court has reduced Osei Assibey Antwi, the former Executive Director of the National Service Authority’s bail condition from GHc800 million to GHc623 million.

The High Court bail variation, however, maintained all other bail conditions.

This follows Osei Assibey’s lawyers arguing in court that the original bail of GHc800 million was impossible to meet by their client.

According to his lawyers, the initial bail would require providing dozens of high-value properties in Accra and Kumasi, which makes it unrealistic.

Osei Assibey’s lawyers also noted that the main purpose of bail was preventing flight risk, which has been achieved by their client surrendering his passports and also being placed on a stop list.

Dufie Prempeh, representing the Attorney General’s office, opposed the variation, arguing that the original conditions were reasonable.

The court, in its ruling, accepted that a reduced bail of 623 million cedis is more realistic, but maintained all other conditions of his sureties and property pledges.

“I pray God gifts Richard Nii Armah Quaye as President of Ghana one day” – Prophet

0

Prophet Morris Idahosah has said he prays that God gifts Ghanaian business mogul and President of RNAQ Holdings, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, as President of Ghana one day.

The Prophet noted the Ghanaian business mogul’s remarkable efforts in setting up a food bank that feeds thousands of Ghanaians for free every day.

According to him, even the church alone cannot match this level of impact, stressing how a single entrepreneur is making a significant difference in the lives of many.

Speaking to his congregation, Prophet Morris Idahosah stated, “That guy Richard Nii Armah Quaye, I pray that God gifts him as President of Ghana one day, is my prayer for that guy.

He has been able to open a restaurant where he gives people food for free to eat, a food bank, and I even planned to open some if I get money. Since he started that, I have added him to my prayer list, I pray for him, if this man dies in his young age, people will go hungry”.

Meanwhile,  Richard Nii Armah Quaye has said he is not a politician and does not have any political ambition.

According to Richard Nii Armah Quaye, all he needs from the people he is providing free food and water to is their prayers for God to flourish his business to be able to bless more people.

Richard Nii Armah Quaye made this known to some Chiefs and people of Tamale Kore when he opened two more good bank centres in the region.

Speaking to them, the business mogul stated, “Let me stress this again, I am not a politician, I do not have a political ambition, and I don’t want anything in return for any of you, all I want is just pray for me for God to bless my hands, and when I get I can also bless the people.

He added that there are no strings attached to his provision of food and water for the people of Tamale.

My attentions are genuine, and there are no strings attached from today onwards as long as I am alive and have strengthened are breadth in me when I work and make money, I will ensure that I spend some of the to make sure there is food, water available for the people of Tamele”, he added.

Also, Richard Nii Armah Quaye has gained international recognition after being featured in Forbes for his groundbreaking contributions to business and community development in Ghana.

“Judges in Ghana now live in fear delivering justice” – Justin Kodua

0

Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said Judges in Ghana now live in fear, delivering justice.

The NPP’s General Secretary alleged that the judiciary, which is supposed to be the last vanguard, has been captured by the NDC government.

According to Justin Kodua, Judges in Ghana now fear delivering justice over fears of facing similar consequences as Justice Torkonoo.

Speaking on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, during the unveiling of the NPP’s amended constitution, Kodua stated, “We have witnessed escalating abuse of incumbency and state-sponsored intimidation of political opponents in the media”.

“We have seen the disturbing pattern of filing nolle prosequi to free their members who are standing trial for allegedly embezzling huge sums of money from the state. We have seen attempts to capture our institutions, including the judiciary, and efforts to take parliamentary seats we have won.”

Justin Kodua also accused the government of compromising the judiciary.

He referenced what he described as the controversial removal of former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo.

“Unfortunately, the judiciary, which is supposed to be the last vanguard of the rule of law, has sadly been captured by the executive”.

“Today, in Ghana, judges fear delivering justice according to the law because they fear they will also suffer the same consequences as Justice Torkonoo did”, he claimed.

Also, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader, has launched an attack on Ghana’s judiciary following the Tamale High Court’s decision to annul the 2024 parliamentary election in the Kpandai Constituency.

The minority leader addressing journalists described the court’s conduct as shameful, accusing the judges of serving the interests of their paymasters.

Speaking to journalists in Parliament on Wednesday, November 26, Mr Afenyo-Markin detailed, “The judiciary must know that their actions and inaction to serve the interests of whoever their paymaster is have the tendency of destroying our peaceful republic. We will not mince words. They can conspire to call us one by one for a so-called contempt of court.

“We are criticising their shameful conduct. We are not afraid. We are ready to be in Nsawam for their so-called contempt. The world will see their disgraceful conduct,” he said.

The minority leader added, “How can a judge who calls himself a judge sit in court and misconduct himself in such a manner and expect the country to be quiet? This order, with massive political, legal, and democratic consequences, was pronounced without a full written judgment.

“There were no written reasons, no factual findings, no legal analysis, just a naked directive issued into the public domain. And now the whole constituency is being told there must be a rerun.”

“I am a practising lawyer of experience at the bar. I understand that courts occasionally deliver rulings with reasons to follow. But such a practice is the exception, not the rule. And it is never acceptable when the stakes are this high.”

Meanwhile, Maurice Ampaw, a Legal practitioner, has issued a stern warning to the Tamele High Court Judge Justice Plange following his ruling for a rerun of the Kpandai parliamentary election.

According to Maurice Ampaw, Justice Plange’s decision could lead to potential repercussions as the NPP could mark him down.

The private legal practitioner cautioned the Tamele High Court Judge Justice Plange that the NPP can snub him when he is due for promotion or even deal with him.

Speaking in an interview on his Mmra No Se Sen show on Wontumi TV, Ampaw warned, “Judges can be marked down, and they can say they will deal with you like they did to Torkonoo. Don’t let the NPP mark you down, Justice Plange. If they do, who caused it? They can sit on your promotion or deal with you.

So, when you are making a ruling, think about the future,” he sad.

“Remember what Justice Baffoe-Bonnie said, that he was thinking about the future. So, they should ask him, if he were the Kpandai MP, would he be happy about the decision?”, he quizzed.

Lack of decent housing delays doctors posted to rural areas – GMA President

0

The President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr Ernest Yorke, has said the delay in doctors posted to rural areas is a result of of lack of decent housing.

Dr Ernest Yorke urged the government to invest in social amenities to attract doctors to underserved regions.

According to the GMA president, most doctors are middle-class and want the best for their kids when being posted.

He noted that Doctors want the best schools for their children, as well as social amenities and good roads, which are relatively not available in deprived communities.

Speaking on JoyFM’s Super Morning Show on Wednesday, December 3, he stated, “Remember also that social amenities, you know, that roads are relatively poorer, you may not get cable or satellite television sometimes, and accommodation may be a challenge.

Most doctors are also middle-class, so they want the best for their kids; they want the best schools. You may not have such opportunities in the rural areas,” he said.

“We need to take the bull by the horns and decide that as a nation, this is what we want, we want to put our money where the need is,” he added.

He further explained, “Sometimes, accommodation issues have delayed doctors and other health professionals from assuming duties even if they have accepted to be posted there, and it has become a back-and-forth process until one is secured. Other times [they] would have to look for their own accommodations, and you may have to be reimbursed, or it is at your own cost”.

“If you are lucky, you may be provided with accommodation. Some districts have accommodation earmarked for doctors, but this is not the case everywhere”, Dr Ernest Yorke stated.

His comments follow, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister of Health, issuing an ultimatum to the newly posted medical doctors who refuse to accept their posting.

According to Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, newly posted medical doctors have an additional week to report to their duty stations.

The health minister reported that newly posted medical doctors nationwide have refused to take up their posting.

Health Minister Akandoh revealed that seven out of every ten newly assigned doctors had failed to report.

He revealed that in the Upper West and Upper East regions, none of the newly posted medical doctors have reported as of Friday, November 29.

Speaking to journalists in Accra on Tuesday, December 2, the Health Minister stated, “We will give them an additional week to appeal to them to report to their various facilities where they have been posted. After that, we will do what we call validation.”

Health Minister Akandoh stressed that the postings would not be changed under any circumstances.

He further revealed that the government was also considering incentives to encourage compliance.

“We are engaging stakeholders in their respective districts—regional ministers, Members of Parliament, DCEs, chiefs—to facilitate their stay so they can give their best,” he said.

The Health Minister further revealed shocking statistics, noting that nearly half of the country’s medical doctors are concentrated in the Greater Accra Region,

He quizzed, “Is it not scary?, So at this point, the government has made a decision: let’s post these medical officers to where their services are needed most.”

Napo buys first copy of the NPP’s amended constitution for GHS 50,000

0

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the 2024 running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has purchased the party’s amended constitution for GHS 50,000.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) today launched a revised constitution following the party’s miserable 2024 election defeat.

In a viral video shared on X, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh was announced as the first person to buy the amended constitution for GHS 50,000.

According to the NPP, the amended constitution is to address the factors that contributed to the party’s loss.

The General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, attributed the party’s defeat to member neglect and a breakdown in communication strategy.

Speaking at the launch of the amended constitution on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Justin Kodua Frimpong stated, “Many of the issues that culminated in our loss in the 2024 election have been addressed in this amendment”.

We all know that one of the reasons why we did not get the needed vote to win the election was voter apathy, and it also stemmed from the fact that there were several former party executives who felt that they were neglected.

“But in our current constitution, we have expanded our electoral college to make room for our former executives at the district level and the national level to have a voting right. All of these are to address the issue of apathy in our party.”

He added, “Another reason why we lost is that many people criticised our party’s communication. We had done so much, but we were not communicating them, and there was no coordination among the various communication directors”.

Justin Kodua added that the amendments reflect lessons learned from the 2024 elections and aim at strengthening the party structures.

In related news, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh was captured sharing a moment with some school kids playing with them.

In the viral video, Napo was captured in a heartwarming moment with children at the Kumasi Children’s Home.

Reports suggest, the former lawmaker was there during a visit to donate essential items to the Kumasi Children’s Home.

Napo was surrounded by some little children of the Kumasi Children’s Home as he was seated.

The information gathered adds that Dr Prempeh has been doing philanthropic activities for over 2 decades now.

Within the period, he’s supported more than 20 homes.

Yesterday, November 27, 2025, Napo donated food items to support 3 homes in Kumasi, namely the Kumasi rehabilitation centre , Cheshire Home and the Kumasi children’s home.

It has also come to light that Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh supports the three homes three times within the year, with the donation yesterday a Christmas present and also the third time Napo is donating to the homes for the year 2025.

Meanwhile, Justin Kodua Frimpong made a bold declaration some months ago even before the party elects its presidential candidate for the 2028 elections.

According to Justin Kodua, the NPP come December 2028 will surely return to power.

He highlighted that the NPP will work out all their differences before the 2028 elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra, the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, boldly delcared, “We have more than two years to preach to Ghanaians, our record, to preach to Ghanaians what the NPP stand for, and I can assure you, issues of apathy, issues of reconciliation, all will be addressed, and InshaAllah, come December 7, 2028, the NPP will surely come back to power”.

In related NPP news, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority Leader in Parliament, has begged all NPP members to put their anger against the former Akufo-Addo government aside and work together to win power in 2028.

According to Afenyo-Markin, the NPP can take inspiration from the NDC, as no one thought President Mahama could ever become president again, adding that political comebacks are possible when the party members are united.

Afenyo-Markin noted that when the NDC was in disarray, it took Asiedu Nketiah, the Ahwois and others to put the NDC together, so there is hope for the NPP.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM on November 28, 2025, Afenyo-Markin stated, “Whoever thought John Mahama could be president again? Let us face the facts, it took Asiedu Nketiah to charge through the storm after Mahama lost by over one million votes in the 2016 elections. When the NDC was in disarray, when they had nobody, it took Asiedu Nketiah to put the party together”.

“NPP, don’t be sad. There is hope. Let us work together, and we can take inspiration from the NDC and win power”.

He added, “Look, I am pleading with every NPP member: even if the government was not fair to you, put all your anger somewhere and let us work together to win”.

“It took Asiedu Nketiah, the Ahwois and others to put the NDC together. So, NPP, there is hope.”

“Anyone who blames Free SHS for 2025 WASSCE failures is unintelligent” – Miracles Aboagye

0

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has said anyone who blames the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy for the 2025 WASSCE failures is unintelligent.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily on Wednesday, December 3, Dennis Miracles Aboagye called on stakeholders to focus on identifying the actual factors behind the poor performance.

According to him, the Free SHS policy cannot be blamed for the substantial decline in this year’s results.

Miracles Aboagye stated, “Anybody who says that Free SHS is the reason for these failures is not being intelligent. It is an ill-informed comment and does not hold water. We need to stop politicising this issue.

“Let us identify, technically, what caused the poor performance in these two subjects and find a solution. Let us identify, technically, what contributed to the poor performance and work towards fixing it,” he said.

Also, Hamza Suhuyini, a Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team, has said the decision by the University of Ghana (UG) not to increase its cut-off point is extremely unacceptable.

According to Hamza Suhuyini, the Universities need to show flexibility in light of the unusually poor performance recorded in this year’s 2025 WASSCE examinations.

He argued that the rigid cut-off points could prevent deserving students from accessing tertiary education, calling on the University of Ghana to consider adjusting thresholds in it courses.

Speaking on Channel One TV on December 3, Hamza Suhuyini stated, “The UG’s decision not to increase their cut-off point is extremely unacceptable. I think the universities need to be flexible. It is possible that this failure could be due to factors beyond the students themselves”.

“We need to understand that the UG’s decision not to raise the cut-off point will be problematic. For example, instead of maintaining an aggregate 8 in certain courses, UG should consider these figures and possibly move it from aggregate 8 to 10,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Kofi Asare, has said the 2025 WASSCE students did not adequately prepare for their exams.

Kofi Asare linked the massive decline in the 2025 WASSCE results to inadequate preparation and a mismatch between teaching methods.

According to Kofi Asare, the students met questions they weren’t prepared for.

Speaking on Metro TV, the Education Watch Executive Director stated, “It is great to have conversations around the performance of children in examinations. When results go wrong, we discuss them, and where there are gaps, we bring them out.”

“Many of our teachers believe the main contributing reason could have been poor preparation. One headmaster explained to me that the nature of the questions this year was applied, and many students are used to recall-type questions,” he stated.

“When you prepare for ABC, and you meet DF, it means you did not prepare adequately,” he noted.

“At least increase the size of Kenkey, if you will not reduce price” – NDC man begs

0

Abusuapanin Felix Kofi Munkoh, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) communicator, has appealed to Kenkey sellers to at least increase the size of Kenkey if they will not reduce the price.

The NDC communicator noted that the price of maize has dropped, but kenkey sellers still insist on maintaining their prices.

According to Abusuapanin Felix Kofi Munkoh, Kenkey sellers must at least increase the size of a ball of kenkey if they insist on maintaining the price.

Abusuapanin Felix Kofi Munkoh is quoted by UTV to have said, “I am appealing to kenkey sellers: if they will not lower prices despite the drop in maize costs, they should at least increase the size of kenkey”.

Also, the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has listed fufu and soup, along with kenkey and fried fish, among the top 20 contributors to inflation.

The GSS list top 20 contributors to inflation comprises “Herrings -Smoked, Plantain (Green), Cinema/Cultural Services, Cooked rice, Charcoal, Ginger, vegetable oil, Tomato Paste, electricity, Re-Sold Tap Water In Buckets/Barrels/Jerrycans, beef, Cassava – Kokonte/Dough, fish, Kenkey With Fried Fish, onions (Large), bread, accommodation (hotel), fufu and soup, yam, Public/Private Secondary School Fees (SSS)”.

Meanwhile, Eric Opoku, the Minister of Food and Agriculture, has said middlemen are to blame for the high food prices in urban areas.

According to the Agric Minister, middlemen between the farmers and the urban area buy cheaply from farmers and sell at ‘throat-cutting’ prices to the consumers.

Eric Opoku highlighted that farmers are currently selling food crops at lower prices than at the start of harvest season.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Eric Opoku explained, “When you go to the production point, the farmers are complaining that they were selling a truck of yams at GH¢7,000. When they started harvesting, it came down to GH¢4,000, and it is now hovering around GH¢3,000 and GH¢2,000 at the farm gate”.

Eric Opoku added, “We have some people also posing as middlemen between the farmers and urban areas, and they are engaging in profiteering, trying to enjoy abnormal profit. They buy cheaply from the farmers and sell at ‘throat-cutting’ prices to the consumers. The prices are better than before”.

“When you get to the mall, some of the food items are imported, and the prices cannot be compared to those in the local market now because the local ones are now cheaper than the imported ones,” he stressed.

He further added, “We, as a government, have decided to produce to feed Ghanaians; they must reciprocate our gesture by eating Ghana for us”.

“UG’s decision not to increase its cut-off point is extremely unacceptable” – Suhuyini

Hamza Suhuyini, a Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team, has said the decision by the University of Ghana (UG) not to increase its cut-off point is extremely unacceptable.

“We need to understand that the UG’s decision not to raise the cut-off point will be problematic. For example, instead of maintaining an aggregate 8 in certain courses, UG should consider these figures and possibly move it from aggregate 8 to 10,” he explained.

Hamza Suhuyini comes on the heels of the University of Ghana (UG) Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Gordon Awandare, who has said the institution’s admission requirements and cut-offs remain firm despite the poor performance of many candidates in the 2025 WASSCE.

According to Prof Awandare, the University of Ghana has already received WAEC results from students who purchased awaiting results forms.

He urged students who will not meet the cut-off points to consider re-sitting the WASSCE, adding that the admission requirements are firm to uphold academic standards.

Speaking to Citi News on Tuesday, December 2, UG’s Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gordon Awandare, stated, “At the University of Ghana, every year, we have many more students making the cut off but not getting the opportunity to be admitted because of the limited number of spaces.

“So, it is not likely that we will need to move the cut-off to get sufficient numbers for each programme. We will advise that if they really want to come to Legon, they should re-sit some of the papers and improve their aggregates and try again,” he stated.

The 2025 WASSCE result released by WAEC revealed 220,008 out of 461,736 failed Core Mathematics, marking the worst performance in the subject in seven years.

Also, “only 48.73% of candidates attained grades A1 to C6 in 2025. This represents a massive collapse from the 66.86% achieved in 2024. A total of 209,068 candidates passed with A1-C6, but 114,872 candidates (26.77%) failed the subject outright with an F9 grade.

Additionally, 131,097 students (30.27%) failed English Language, 161,606 students (39.87%) failed Integrated Science, and 196727 students (44%) failed Social Studies.

A total of 1,021 schools registered candidates for the examination, representing a slight 0.24% increase over 2024, while 5,821 candidates (1.26%) were absent”.

2025 WASSCE students did not prepare adequately – Eduwatch

0

The Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Kofi Asare, has said the 2025 WASSCE students did not adequately prepare for their exams.

Kofi Asare also highlighted teacher welfare concerns, “Payment of allowances for extra instructional hours has not been made since last year. It is important that GES prioritises paying teachers for the extra work done because it contributes to motivation,” he emphasised.

He further explained, “You want to first look at the chief examiner’s report and find out what challenges candidates had in answering the questions. WAEC has put out pointers, but they are just headline pointers”.

“We definitely need the detailed chief examiner’s report to understand what could have happened by looking at the text of the paper,” he stressed.

Kofi Asare further revealed that Eduwatch has launched an online survey on teachers to support a data-led review.

He revealed, “We launched an online survey on Sunday and are targeting about a thousand teachers. Early trends are emerging, but they cannot replace the official report”.

“There is some politicisation of the issues, but what matters is that the duty-bearers focus on the real issues and take action to ensure adequate remedies are deployed,” he said.

Meanwhile, wild allegations have been flying around claiming the John Mahama government deliberately failed the 2025 WASSCE students.

Rev. Dr Desmond Boakye-Yiadom, a theologian and educationist, has boldly alleged that the 2025 WASSCE results were manipulated by Ghanaian leaders.

According to the Educationist, the 2025 WASSCE candidates performed well, but the results were massaged before they were released.

He alleged that WAEC had planned to release the 2025 WASSCE results on the 15th of November, but Ghanaian leaders sat down and manipulated the results before releasing them on a Saturday evening, which has never happened before.

Also, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications team member, Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah, commonly known as Benghazi, has levelled shocking allegations against Ato Forson and Haruna Iddrisu.

According to Benghazi, the Finance Minister, Dr Ato Forson, and the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, deliberately failed WASSCE students.

The NPP’s communication team member boldly alleged that the two failed the 2025 WASSCE candidates due to the ruling government’s No Fees Stress Policy for first-year University students.

Benghazi is quoted by EDHUB, a social media news page, to have said, “Finance Minister Dr Ato Forson and Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, deliberately failed WASSCE students because of the No Fees Stress Policy.”

Speaking in an interview, he alleged, “Ato Forson and Ministry of Education monitored the statistics and realized the students going to university from SHS had quadrupled. So, if they pass all those children, it means government won’t get money to pay for the free fees for first-year students, so they deliberately failed the children”.

“They realised the government cannot pay for the no-fees stress, they cannot fund it,” he added.

“Mahama’s New Year’s gift to Ghanaians is an increased in tariffs” – Richard Ahiagbah

0

Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said President John Dramani Mahama’s new year gift to Ghanaians is a cost-of-living burden.

The NPP’s Director of Communications noted the PURC announcement of a multi-year tariff review process covering 2026 to 2030.

According to the PURC, electricity tariffs will rise by 9.86 per cent across all customer categories, and water tariffs will rise by 15.92 per cent.

The PURC noted that the adjustments were necessary to meet the investment requirements of utility providers and also to ensure industry competitiveness and consumer interests.

On electricity tariffs, they based their adjustment on the cedi–US dollar exchange rate and the cost of natural gas.

However, water tariffs were based on “projected production and sales volumes, non-revenue water levels, expected capital investment requirements, and prevailing macroeconomic conditions”.

They further added that “Residential consumers’ charges will rise across consumption bands. Non-residential, commercial, industrial and public institutions will also see higher rates. Service charges generally remain unchanged”.

Reacting to the news, Richard Ahiagbah took to social media and wrote, “The verdict of time…

President John Dramani Mahama’s New Year’s gift to Ghanaians is an increased cost-of-living burden, effective January 1, 2026.

Electricity rates will increase by 10%, while water tariffs will rise by 16%”.

He added that despite the soaring tariffs, the Mahama administration could only offer a measly 9% increase in minimum wage.

Mr Ahiagbah added, “Amid these soaring tariffs, the President could only offer a measly 9% increase in minimum wage.

Did we go or did we come?”

However, some Ghanaians have issued a sharp reply to Richard Ahiagbah’s verdict, saying, “Thankfully, we have been trained well by the NPP on living in extreme hardships and graduated with flying colours, so Mahama’s New Year’s gift seems like child’s play in comparison!!”.

“All over the world, wage negotiations are based on projected inflation. The question is whether BOG (authority for inflation targeting) is operationally independent? Let’s avoid using 2 items from the basket as a basis for questioning the credibility of the negotiated salaries”, a netizen added.

One more X user quizzed, “Where are you expecting him to get the money to treat the water your government and his cronies have destroyed for eight years?”

A netizen added, “Ghanaians will always remember your NPP party, the pains you have inflicted on them, if not because of democracy and cheap politics, where would I have been in Ghana today? Sometimes ask yourself this very question. Your NPP party is no longer attractive to the people of Ghana”.

Another Ghanaian added, “No wonder you’ve been relegated to the background in the NPP. This platform (X) is for discerning minds who are able to analyse, contextualise issues & conclude with elements of critical thinking. These increases are better in a B status economy than in a JUNK economy. Relax”.

One last X user added, “We experienced worse under your leadership. You won’t wait to see this government fail so badly. Under NPP, the dollar rose to 17, and fuel was around 15-16. You people don’t even have the moral right to comment on anything in this country, considering what you did”.

Growing appetite for petitions seeking dismissals disturbing – Edem Senanu

0

Edem Senanu, the Co-Chair of the Citizens Movement Against Corruption (CMaC), has said the growing appetite for petitions seeking dismissals of leaders of Independent bodies cannot become a routine.

According to Edem Senanu, the growing trend of petitions seeking dismissals of

He asserted that the growing number of petitions for high-level dismissals could lead to competent professionals refusing to accept roles in independent institutions.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, December 2, Edem Senanu stated, “We cannot continue on this path where demands for the removal of heads of independent bodies become routine”.

“Eventually, many capable individuals will shy away from taking up these offices because they may end up spending most of their tenure responding to petitions,” he added.

“Considering the challenges they face and the work they do, the OSP is vital in ensuring accountability among politically exposed persons,” he noted.

His comments follow,  President Mahama receiving 10 petitions for the removal of two heads of public institutions and two deputies appointed under Article 70 of the Constitution.

A news flyer by JoyNews, which was shared on social media, revealed that the two institutions are the Electoral Commission (EC) and the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

The Joynews flyer read, “President Mahama refers seven petitions seeking the removal of Jean Menas and her two deputies, and three petitions for the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng to the Chief Justice”.

Meanwhile, Dr Dickson Adomako Kissi, the former Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, has alleged that the Presidency is behind the ten petitions seeking the removal of Jean Mensa and the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

According to Kissi Adomako, the Mahama government orchestrated the 10 petitions.

The former MP highlighted that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in opposition promised to remove the Electoral Commission leadership, and they are keeping to their word.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily on Tuesday, December 2, Dr Adomako Kissi stated, “I must commend the NDC for keeping to their word; they are doing exactly as they promised that when they come, they will remove the EC”.

Dr Adomako Kissi also took a swipe at the Minister in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, accusing him of misleading the public.

“I have every right to tell Felix that he did well lying to Ghanaians that the Executive has nothing to do with the petition,” he remarked.

Dr Adomako Kissi’s comment follows Kwakye Ofosu, who refuted widespread claims that President John Mahama or the Presidency had engineered or influenced the petitions.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu noted that neither the content nor the initiation of the petitions originated from the presidency.

“Most doctors are middle-class and want the best for their kids” – GMA schools gov’t on how to attract doctors

0

The President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr Ernest Yorke, has urged the government to invest in social amenities to attract doctors to underserved regions.

“Apart from helping the poor create 10 Ghanaian billionaires” – Kofi Amoabeng tells Mahama

0

Retired Captain Prince Kofi Amoabeng, the founder of the defunct UT Bank, has told President John Mahama to create 10 Ghanaian billionaires.

Prince Kofi Amoabeng urged President Mahama to choose young, honest Ghanaians and support them by paying their taxes to allow their business to stand.

Addressing the President directly, at the Fourth First National Bank (FNB) Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament at the Achimota Golf Club last Friday, Prince Kofi Amoabeng stated, “My suggestion is that, apart from helping the poor people with the employment arrangement, we should try to create about at least 10 millionaires or billionaires in Ghana. Deliberately”.

“You can choose people, young people, who are honest and pay their taxes and have business to stand for, and intentionally, the government backs them up with grants, with contracts and things like that. To grow them so that you go across internationally and everything, and project the name of this country.”

“So, Mr President, identify, please, not only NDC, but genuine business people and push them, encourage them, so that they will become successful for our dear country,” he said.

Mr Amoabeng further detailed two major problems hindering Ghana’s economic acceleration.

He added, “One other thing which really freaks me is the proposed Accra commercial project. Every right-thinking person who spends about seven hours to go to Kumasi they only want to pay even 1,000 cedis so they can get there in time and conduct their business and come back.”

“I personally had a debt recovery which took eight years. And you ask yourself, somebody has come for your money, give you a collateral, it’s not paying, why should it take eight years?”

Also, President John Dramani Mahama and Captain Prince Kofi Amoabeng were captured in a ‘bromance’ moment during the 4th FNB Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament.

During the event, President Mahama and Kofi Amoabeng were captured seated while the Sports Minister Kofi Adams addressed the gathering.

Mahama and Kofi Amoabeng were captured in the background taking a selfie together and later having a light chat together.

Additionally, the 4th FNB Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament took place on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the iconic Achimota Golf Club.

The tournament was officially opened with a ceremonial tee-off by H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana.

The 2025 edition is themed “Giving Back To The Community Through Golf”.

Reports by CitiSports stated, “The Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament is a prestigious amateur golf event held annually under the distinguished patronage of the sitting President”.

It revealed, the 2025 edition will feature 120 golfers from clubs across Ghana and beyond.

“The event is proudly organised by Northwestern Solutions in partnership with the Ghana Golf Association, with First National Bank (FNB) serving as the headline sponsor.

“Additional sponsorship and support are being provided by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Aphro, La Villa Aphro, Mundus, SAP Gp, Danny List Foundation, Caveman Watches, The Luckiest, and Nguvu Mining Limited”

Akufo-Addo gov’t enabled widespread cheating in WASSCE to boost Free SHS – MP

0

Emmanuel Boam, the Member of Parliament for Pru East, has alleged that the erstwhile Akufo-Addo government deliberately allowed widespread cheating during the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to boost pass rates under the Free SHS.

According to the Pru East MP, under the Akufo-Addo administration, students paid “examination support levies” that facilitated cheating.

He revealed, WASSCE students were allowed to enter examination halls with mobile phones and further alleged that WASSCE performance figures were artificially inflated to create an impression that the Free SHS policy had delivered extraordinary results.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Emmanuel Boam stated, “There hasn’t been any organised and well-orchestrated examination malpractice than what we saw under the past government. It was properly coordinated between institutions that were compelled to align.”

The Pru East MP also questioned the former government’s policy of assessing headteachers solely on WASSCE outcomes.

He quizzed, “How do you tie the rating of schools to WASSCE results and threaten headteachers with removal when they lack the basic resources to run their institutions?”

“The system was so compromised that students were asked to pay money for examination support, and you had groups of teachers solving questions elsewhere and passing them on to invigilators,” he reiterated his allegations.

His comments follow the 2025 WASSCE result being released by WAEC, which revealed 220,008 out of 461,736 failed Core Mathematics, marking the worst performance in the subject in seven years.

However, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has said the 2025 WASSCE results accurately reflect student performance.

Part of the GES statement stated, “GES urges the public to disregard the statements made by the former Minister, Dr Adutwum, regarding the 2025 WASSCE results and treat them as an attempt to shift focus from his shortcomings in managing the examination process.

Management of GES views the 2025 WASSCE results as a true reflection of the academic performance of the candidates. The outcome is a credible representation of students’ abilities”.

“Finance Minister killing your ministries, and you sit here saying Ato is forcing” – Patrick Boamah

0

Patrick Yaw Boamah, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, has said Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson is killing the ministries under the Mahama government.

According to Patrick Yaw Boamah, ministers under the John Mahama government are unhappy with Ato Forson over the lack of funds being released to their ministries.

The Okaikwei Central during the Parliamentary debate on the 2025 sector budget estimate noted that the Ministry of Transport had received 43 million out of a 165 million allocation, which was just 26 per cent.

He further quizzed the Transport Minister, Joseph Nikpe Bukari, whether he was happy with the 26 per cent release in the 2025 budget and quizzed how the Transport Ministry survived.

Patrick Yaw Boamah further fired the NDC minister, accusing them of being unhappy with the poor release of funds to their ministries, but still insists the Finance Minister Ato is forcing.

Speaking on the floor of parliament, Patrick Yaw Boamah stated, “Mr Speaker, the committee noted that by September 2025, the Ministry of Transport had received 43 million out of a 165 million allocation. Representing a release rate of 26 per cent, and you sit here and say Ato is ‘forcing’? Forcing what? 26 per cent release, and you sit here and say he brought good news, is this the good news that has come?”

“Nikpe, Hon Nikpe, are you happy with a 26 per cent release? How were you able to survive the whole of 2025 on 26 per cent? Very sad and unfortunate, and you think Ato is forcing, how? You are not happy… He is collapsing your ministry. We know. The minister says you are not happy with the releases. You are not,” he quizzed.

He further added, Gizella Tetteh is not happy, Ampem is not happy himself, Trade Minister, you are not happy. You just walked in while we’ve been debating your report all day. Hon Acheampong, are you happy with the 26 per cent?”

Meanwhile, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has boldly stated that President John Dramani Mahama appointed him to get the job done and not to win popularity contests in ministries, departments, or agencies.

According to Ato Forson, his priority is to serve the masses and not to seek popularity.

He made these remarks while explaining his decision to cut non-essential spending like foreign travel, workshops, and luxury procurements.

Ato Forson further asserted that as finance minister, if one is popular among his colleagues, then there is something wrong.

Speaking during an interview on Joy NEWS after the 2026 budget reading, Dr Ato Forson stated, “If, as a finance minister, you are too popular, then there’s something wrong with it. Too popular within the group that you are talking about, then you are failing”.

“I want to be popular with the people of Ghana. Whatever I have to do to serve their needs and be able to save, to pay for school feeding, to pay for free SHS, to be able to put nurses in hospitals, to build hospitals, to give maternal care. Instead of somebody travelling, I will cut that expenditure and give it to someone who needs dialysis,” he indicated.

Ato Forson further revealed that President John Mahama read the entire 2026 Budget cover to cover, highlighting that the budget has the full backing of the president.

“The President read this budget cover to cover… This is his document, not my document. I read on his behalf… to Parliament and the people of Ghana,” he added.

“Jean Mensa misbehaved as EC chair, whether we like it or not” – Nana Yaa Jantuah

0

Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has launched a scathing attack on the Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Mensa following the seven petitions seeking her removal.

Nana Yaa Jantuah highlighted that Jean Mensa, as the EC Chairperson, misbehaved and sidelined political parties.

According to Nana Yaa Jantuah, whether Ghanaians like it or not, Jean Mensa misbehaved, and her conduct undermined the confidence in Ghana’s electoral process.

The Presidential Staffer noted that stakeholders expected professionalism and fairness when Jean Mensa took office from Charlotte Osei, but she turned into something else.

Speaking on the JoyNews AM Show on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Nana Yaa Jantuah stated, “Let’s be very truthful, Jean changed. I was in IPAC, and even though I wasn’t happy with Charlotte and how she was treated, I was okay when I heard Jean was going to take over because of IEA. So we saw her as maybe a very strict person, somebody who was astute and credible, but it turned out to be something else.”

“If you talk about misbehaviour, she misbehaved; Jean did not do well. We have so many examples. You can take a case to court; Jean doesn’t care. Issues that we as political parties are not happy about—we will take them to court, and Jean doesn’t even care. We want to have a discussion with her on matters pertaining to elections; she doesn’t care.”

“It’s not that I’m bringing her down, but that is the truth,” she said.

Mrs Jantuah added, “I used to make excuses for her. I even thought that she was being… she looked so afraid. I also thought that somebody was pushing her around. She had all these military men around her. I didn’t see that around Afari-Gyan; I didn’t see that with Charlotte. But in her case, she was always jittering, as if shaking.”

“In 2024, political parties had already announced their results, yet hers wasn’t out. I’m neither NPP nor NDC, but I commend former President Bawumia—he came out quickly. If he didn’t have the mechanism to get the results, how was he going to concede? Meanwhile, Jean took almost five days.”

“Jean has misbehaved, whether we like it or not. She’s done certain things. There were times that even the NPP in IPAC were not happy with her”, she added.

Meanwhile, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Government Communications Minister, has revealed that the petition to remove the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, her deputies and the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng now rests with the Chief Justice.

According to Kwakye Ofosu, the process has left the hands of President John Dramani Mahama, adding that he believes Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie will act in accordance with Ghanaian law.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu is quoted by Joy News to have said, “Every process that is needed to be done has been undertaken. The process for doing so is quite clear. At this stage, the process has left the hands of the president beyond conveying the petitions to the Chief Justice.

There’s little else that the president does in this particular instance. Everything now rests with the Chief Justice, who, I believe, will act in accordance with Ghanaian law”.

Additionally, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has debunked claims that the Presidency engineered the ten petitions seeking the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Jean Mensa and her deputies.

Kwakye Ofosu challenged critics who are suggesting the Mahama government in the involvement in the petitions to produce evidence.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu noted that neither the content nor the initiation of the petitions originated from the presidency.

Speaking on Eyewitness News with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Monday, 1 December 2025, he stated, “The critics would have to show evidence of the cooking and the eating [fabrication], wouldn’t they?”

“There’s no basis for manipulation, there’s no room for manoeuvring or any form of manipulation from the executive whatsoever. The committee will be formed by the Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, and not the President [John Dramani Mahama],” he said.

“In every rule there is an exception” – Kwakye Ofosu says as he defends IGP Yohuno’s two-year extension

0

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, has defended the two-year contract extension granted to Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno by President John Mahama.

According to Kwakye Ofosu, in every rule there is an exception, adding that the decision to extend the IGP’s contract was based on strong security considerations.

He asserted that although the government generally opposes contract renewals, the Yohuno case required special treatment.

Speaking to EIB Network’s Presidential Affairs Correspondent Kwakye Ofosu said, “As a general rule, the government believes that it helps if we do not have a general flat policy of these renewals, but I’m sure that to every rule there is an exception, and especially because this is a security sector-related appointment… surely a case can be made for allowing sufficient time for his policies to percolate, for his initiatives to come to fruition.”

“It is not a unilateral decision taken by the president,” he said.

He added, “The police council… examined the security challenges we have and also looked into what may be required to address them… and came to the conclusion that it will serve the interests of the country at this stage, to have this sort of extension.”

It will be recalled that the Mahama government in April 2025 in a statement released signed by Dr Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, announced that the government announced the suspension of all post-retirement contracts.

The letter stated, “The grant of post-retirement contract appointments to retired public service staff has been suspended with immediate effect”.

“All requests for such appointments will no longer be considered”, the letter added.

Meanwhile, Dr Joshua Jebuntie Zaato, a senior lecturer at the University of Ghana, has slammed the John Mahama government over Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohunu’s two-year contract extension.

Speaking on TV3 New Day, Dr Zaato described IGP’s Yohunu extension as “flip-flopping and hypocrisy in its policy implementations.”

Dr Zaato detailed, “Look, as a matter of principle, I think every president should be given the opportunity, especially when it comes to national security and security issues, to assemble his team. I think the president should be given a free hand when it comes to national security and as long as they are not breaching constitutional laws. They see things we don’t see, they hear things we don’t hear, (sic), and keeping the realm safe and secure is the number one responsibility of the president,” he said on TV3 on November 26, 2025.

“That’s why they are the commander-in-chief, so I believe that the president should not be faced with any challenges when it comes to assembling his national security team. The Inspector General of Police is the core, one of the biggest pillars of their national security, so a president should have that right.

The lecturer continued, “IGP Yohunu is a consummate policeman, law enforcement agent. He’s come inside the system, he’s handled the transition well, and he’s doing his utmost best for the police. I have absolutely no problem with him professionally or in person… The problem is, like everybody is saying, when you see this rampant and flagrant flip-flopping and hypocrisy.”

“… Nobody forced Callistus Mahama to issue that letter… because whenever the secretary of the president writes something and issues a statement, we should be able to take it to the bank. We should be able to know that it is a solid position, but today, when I ask my question, what is the government’s policy on post-retirement contracts?

“There should be policy clarity. It helps people to know because now, people can have the opportunity to read innuendos, read motives into these appointments, just precisely because of what you’ve done. There is [policy inconsistency]. You have two statements. So, what is this government’s policy on this? And this is not the first time we have had this policy inconsistency, and that’s what I’m talking about, the government flip-flopping,” he added.

Lumba’s eldest daughter speaks on her father’s burial slated for Dec 13

0

The eldest daughter of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, Denise Lady Ama Saah Fosu, has for the first time spoken about her father’s burial slated for December 13, 2025.

Denise Lady Ama Saah Fosu, speaking to Ghanaians in a viral video at the late musician’s East Legon residence, invited fans and the general public to her father’s funeral at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on 13th December 2025.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Denise Lady Ama Saah Fosu stated, “Hello, my name is Denise Lady Ama Saah Fosu, the eldest daughter of the late Charles Fosu, also known as Daddy Lumba. I’m here, representing my entire family today.

We’d like to kindly invite you to my father’s funeral, which will take place on the 13th December in Kumasi. We wish all well-wishers and mourners to join us to celebrate his life.”

However, the family of highlife icon Daddy Lumba, has said the late music icon’s funeral, slated for December 13, 2025, is unauthorised, misleading and does not reflect the family’s decision.

Lumba’s family, in their statement, further dismissed a widely circulated funeral date of December 13, 2025, adding that the date was unauthorised, misleading, and not reflective of any family determination.

The late Daddy Lumba’s family sighted that the proposed date was never agreed upon and is impracticable due to ongoing autopsy processes and investigations in Ghana and Germany, also Children abroad preparing for major examinations.

They further detailed that family members require adequate notice to apply for leave, with International mourners needing time to make travel arrangements.

The family further accused Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu of illegally withdrawing GHS 200,000 from a CalBank account.

In a statement issued on Monday, November 24, the family revealed that Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu had illegally withdrawn GHS 200,000 despite a court directive barring him from performing financial transactions.

It will be recalled, the final funeral rites of the late highlife musician Daddy Lumba was rescheduled to December 13 by the Manhyia Palace it was earlier slated for December 6.

Meanwhile, the Kumasi High Court has declared Akosua Serwaah Fosuh and Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, as the surviving spouses of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

The court presided over by Justice Dorinda Smith‑Arthur ruled that Akosua Serwaa cannot be declared the sole surviving spouse, as the evidence she provided did not affirm her claims.

During proceedings on Friday, November 28, evidence showed Odo Broni was customarily married to Daddy Lumba before his passing.

The court also highlighted that Akosua Serwaa was customarily married to Daddy Lumba, but rejected her alleged German marriage certificate presented as it was not an original certificate.

The court ruled that both Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni are recognised as surviving wives of Daddy Lumba and must be acknowledged by the Abusuapanyin in the performance of the widowhood rites.

The plaintiff, Akosua Serwaa Fosu, was seeking a court declaration that she is the only surviving wife of the late musician, allowing her to have exclusive authority to carry out all widowhood rituals.

She was also demanding that the court restrain Odo Broni from falsely claiming to be the late singer’s wife.

“2025 WASSCE results manipulated by our leaders” – Educationist alleges

0

Speaking on Atinka TV, Rev. Dr Desmond Boakye-Yiadom, a theologian and educationist, stated, “We don’t accept these results. These exams, the kids performed well, but our leaders sat down and massaged the results before releasing them”.

They wanted to release the result on the 15th of November, but what happened? Since when have you seen WASSCE results being released on a Saturday night? Why didn’t they release it on the 15?”

“I challenge GES and the management of WAEC, the wickedness is too much”, he added.

Their comments follow the 2025 WASSCE result being released by WAEC, which revealed 220,008 out of 461,736 failed Core Mathematics, marking the worst performance in the subject in seven years.

Ghanaians to pay 15.92%, 9.86% more for water and electricity, effective January 2026

0

The people of Ghana are expected to pay more for electricity and water, effective January 1, 2026.

The new tariff adjustments follow the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) announcement of its multi-year tariff review process covering 2026 to 2030.

The news comes following Dr Shafic Suleman, the Executive Secretary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), who some months ago revealed that the new utility tariffs will take effect in January 2026, following a stakeholder consultation.

The PURC Executive Secretary highlighted that the adjustment process is aimed at striking a balance between protecting consumers and enabling utility providers to sustain and improve their operations.

According to the PURC, the stakeholder consultations and public hearings would play a significant role in determining the final utility tariff adjustment.

Dr Shafic Suleman, speaking on the issue, stated, “Our objective is to ensure that consumers are not overburdened with high tariffs while at the same time allowing utility providers to invest in keeping the lights on”.

“Keeping the lights on is complex and expensive. But we are working to ensure that investments in utility infrastructure can continue without passing undue hardship onto consumers”, he added.

Also, Nana Yaa Jantuah, a Board Member of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), has highlighted that the Commission must balance the interests of both consumers and utilities.

According to Nana Yaa Jantuah, there must be a win-win situation in the PURC utility tariff adjustments.

Speaking on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, on a proposal from the ECG and GWL, Nana Yaa Jantuah stated, “The cost of energy is expensive, so we need to keep the lights on. We must ensure that energy is available for industry, for the economy to run, and to guarantee consumer comfort.

“The quality of service is key, but we also have a very difficult job—to ensure improved service delivery while keeping the utilities financially viable. Ultimately, we must find a win-win situation,” she said.

Families of El-Wak stampede victims to receive GH¢50,000 funeral support and GH¢100,000 compensation

0

Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Genfi has revealed that the Families of the El-Wak stampede victims to receive GH¢50,000 funeral support and GH¢100,000 compensation.

Brogya Genfi further revealed that the government pledges continued assistance for the Families of the El-Wak stampede victims.

It will be recalled, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has confirmed six people have died in the ongoing military recruitment at the El-Wak Stadium.

Reports suggest the chaos occurred around 6:20 a.m. when applicants breached security protocols.

According to GAF, 28 people were taken to the 37 Military Hospital.

They further revealed that six people have died, with five in the ICU and another 12 in critical condition.

Also, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has said all persons injured at the El-Wak Stadium stampede will receive a special recruitment package.

According to GAF, the November 12 stampede victims will receive free medical care at the 37 hospital until they are fully recovered and also receive a special recruitment package after recovery.

They further revealed that six people have died, with five in the ICU and another 12 in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Prophet Kofi Oduro, the General Overseer of Alabaster International Ministries, has boldly told the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to refund the 60,000 applicants’ money.

The man of God communicated displeasure in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) following the deaths of six young girls during the military recruitment.

According to Prophet Oduro, the Ghana Armed Forces knew they were looking for a thousand people and should have capped their system at ten thousand, arguing that GAF allowed sixty thousand Ghanaians to show up when they were only looking for four thousand.

Speaking to his congregants, Prophet Oduro stated, “The Armed Forces have given people the opportunity to blaspheme the institution. You are looking for four thousand people. So then the system should be capped at ten thousand.

We block the portal. Case closed. We allow sixty thousand to come in when we want only four thousand, he added.

Prophet Oduro boldly declared that the Ghana Armed Forces must refund the fees of all 60,000 applicants if they fail to recruit them.

According to him, the blood of the six victims who died during the El-Wak stampede would be on the hands of the Army if they fail to refund the 60,000 Ghanians.

“So then I stand on this altar, and I say to the Ghana Armed Forces, refund the money of all those 60,000 people. If you don’t enlist them… all the blood of these girls shall be on your head,” he added.

According to reports, the Bursar was arrested after foodstuffs meant for students were spotted packed into a pick-up truck while en route to her residence.

Reports suggest authorities have already begun an investigation into the matter.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the news stated, “This is widespread. Every school that stocks food must have undercover agents investigate them for at least 6 months and Ghana will be shocked by what will come out. They should start from Berekum College of Education. I know what I’m talking about”.

“So now bursars dey compete chop bar with students’ food. The boldness sef reach Olympic level. Next somebody go blame the system”, a netizen added.

In related news, Fedelia Kudaariwo, a bursar of the Northern School of Business Senior High School (NOBISCO), has been arrested.

The NOBISCO bursar was arrested after she was caught diverting food supplies meant for the school.

Reports revealed Fedelia Kudaariwo attempted to make away with nine bags of maize in the school’s minibus.

A team of volunteers who apprehended the drivers on Thursday, October 30, revealed some students had blown an alarm on the syndicate carrying food out of the stores at night, which prompted their attention to keep monitoring the activities.

The driver, who was busted, named the bursar of the school as the one who had asked him to haul the items to her house.

They later went to the school bursar’s house, where some food items were allegedly found, including bags of rice, cooking oil, and tins of mackerel.

However, reports suggest the bursar escaped before the team got to her house, but later turned herself in to the police.

Alhassan Dokurugu, the Headmaster of NOBISCO, has expressed his disappointment, adding that the school management was working hard to project the school’s image others were giving the school such a bad image.

He added that the school management will cooperate with the necessary investigation.

Ato Forson and Haruna Iddrisu deliberately failed WASSCE students – NPP’s Benghazi

0

A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications team member, Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah, commonly known as Benghazi, has levelled shocking allegations against Ato Forson and Haruna Iddrisu.

The NPP’s communicator’s comments have sparked debate on social media, with netizens saying, “Ah no be this guy wey he say if Mahama win the elections make them pour petrol on am then burn am?”.

“A very wild allegation. So when students refuse to learn and pass but rather stick to doing tic tac videos when they are supposed to learn, we do politics with it eii”, a netizen added.

An X user added, “The Budget quoted 537 million Cedis for No-Fees-Stress.  200k Students expected to receive their No-Fees-Stress Reimbursement so how can failing to blamed on No-Fees-Stress Policy”

One more netizen alleged, “They did the same thing to Nursing Students in 2013, failed almost 50 per cent during their licensure exams. It’s a deliberate attempt to reduce the numbers going into upstream education”

Another netizen stated, “Same way Addo Dee was also buying past questions for students to pass just to gain votes from parents by making them believe Free SHS was working”.

“Honestly, where does the New Patriotic Party recruit such communicators. It’s really serious how mediocre characters are the lead communicators of the opposition party”, one more X user added.

His comments follow the 2025 WASSCE result being released by WAEC, which revealed 220,008 out of 461,736 failed Core Mathematics, marking the worst performance in the subject in seven years.

A total of 1,021 schools registered candidates for the examination, representing a slight 0.24% increase over 2024, while 5,821 candidates (1.26%) were absent”.

Meanwhile, the University of Ghana (UG) Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gordon Awandare, has said the institution’s admission requirements and cut-offs remain firm despite the poor performance of many candidates in the 2025 WASSCE.

“Even if Akufo-Addo gov’t was unfair to you, put your anger somewhere” – Afenyo-Markin begs NPP members

0

Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority Leader in Parliament, has begged all NPP members to put their anger against the former Akufo-Addo government aside and work together to win power in 2028.

Also,  Afenyo-Markin has told his fellow New Patriotic Party (NPP) members that when they are united, no evil can touch them.

Afenyo-Markin made these remarks when he recounted how Nana B came to his home around 4 a.m. to urge him to go and represent Abronye in court.

Speaking on Movement TV, Afenyo-Markin stated, “At dawn, I was scrolling through social media, and around 4 am, Nana B called me. When I picked he told me he was at my gate. When he came inside, he told me they had taken Abronye to court”.

He further revealed that when they arrived, the judge was visibly shaken by the presence of numerous high-profile NPP figures who had turned up to support Abronye.

Afenyo-Markin further emphasised that the turnout was a clear demonstration of the strength of unity within the party, noting that if the NPP remains united, nothing can bring them down.

He added, “After a few. Days of public outcry, the Attorney General himself went for variation, so have you seen the power in unity? It was a wake-up call that when we are united, as a party, no evil can touch any of us.

Meanwhile, Francis Asenso Boakye, the Member of Parliament for Bantama and the former Roads and Highways Minister, has alleged that some New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters sponsored John Mahama to defeat Dr Bawumia in the 2024 election.

According to Francis Asenso‑Boakye, the NPP supporters, unhappy with Dr Bawumia leading the party as a flagbearer in the 2024 elections, sponsored John Mahama ahead of the December 2024 polls.

Presidency behind petitions against Jean Mensa and Kissi Agyebeng – Former NPP MP alleges

0

Dr Dickson Adomako Kissi, the former Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, has alleged that the Presidency is behind the ten petitions seeking the removal of Jean Mensa and the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

Speaking on Eyewitness News on Monday, 1 December 2025, Felix Kwakye Ofosu stated, “The critics would have to show evidence of the cooking and the eating [fabrication], wouldn’t they?”

“There’s no basis for manipulation, there’s no room for manoeuvring or any form of manipulation from the executive whatsoever. The committee will be formed by the Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, and not the President [John Dramani Mahama],” he said.

Also, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has revealed that the petition to remove the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, her deputies and the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng now rests with the Chief Justice.

The report revealed that President Mahama received 10 petitions for the removal of two heads of public institutions and two deputies appointed under Article 70 of the Constitution.

Team Bawumia wanted me to prophesy for DMB, but I told them Ken has already won – Prophet ElBernard

0

The General Overseer of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun, has said the former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team wanted him to prophesy for their candidate.

According to the man of God, he boldly told them Kennedy Agyapong had already won the NPP presidential primaries ahead of the 2026 elections.

Prophet ElBernard asserted that Akosua Manu, an NPP parliamentary candidate in the 2024 election, was the one asked to sway him to prophesy in favour of Dr Bawumia, adding that he declined a meeting with the former vice president.

The man of God is quoted as saying, “Team Bawumia wanted me to prophesy for DMB, but I told them that Ken has already won.  Akosua Manu was the one charged with leading talks to sway me to Dr Bawumia, but I stood firm and declined a meeting with Dr Bawumia.

Also, some months ago, Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun predicted that Kennedy Agyapong would be the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer.

In a Facebook post on May 3, 2025, Prophet ElBernard wrote, “I will see and hear a confidential discussion among the elite, prominent figures in politics and members of parliament… They will be deliberating, asking, “Can he lead our party? Does he have what it takes?” And many among them will say, “We will not support his candidacy.”

“I will see a group of passionate young people who have embraced the vision and message of Kennedy Agyapong. They will be energized, rallying others to join the movement. It will grow rapidly, with youth from all political backgrounds uniting around him. Some will even leave their former parties, seeing their future in his leadership,” he wrote.

He added, “In the conclusion of the vision, I will witness Kennedy Ohene Agyapong elected as the flagbearer of the party. A new movement will emerge, one that brings renewed strength, unity, and energy to the New Patriotic Party. I will marvel at how the choice of one man could revive the party and prepare it with vigor for the 2028 election”.

Also, Prophet Samuel Henry, popularly known as Prophet Roja, has dropped a prophecy ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) January 31 presidential elections.

The man of God declared that the NPP with Kennedy Ohene Agyapong will win the 2028 elections, but the party with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will lose the elections.

Speaking on Angel FM, Prophet Roja stated, “Kennedy first, Bawumia second, that is the win for 2028, but Bawumia first, Kennedy second, a loss for 2028, 100 per cent loss. When you say it like this, they do not listen because they do not regard you.

Prophet Roja had earlier stated that the NPP’s presidential primaries results would be different from the arrangements on the ballot paper positions.

He highlighted that the results will shock Ghanaians, as there is going to be a silent victory for one of the candidates.

Speaking in a viral video following the party’s balloting for the presidential primaries, Prophet Roja stated, “There would be rearrangements, definitely there would be rearrangements. Whether we like it or not, the results would be different from the arrangements on the ballot paper positions – the number two position would certainly change, you can record what I’m saying, save it somewhere”.

“It is going to shock people; it will be a silent win. There will be issues. The person leading has already won, but before the announcement, things will change. I have said this before, and I’m just reiterating.

Prophet Roja further noted that the NPP’s presidential primaries will be a tough one.

“The race is going to be very hot, and one person will be in pole position to win, but results from a few places will change everything”.

He added, “It is only four regions that would turn the election, and they are the Greater Accra Region, the Central Region, the Ashanti Region and the Eastern Region”.

Watch Ken Agyapong receive rousing ‘jama’ from supporters on Volta Lake

0

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspirant, has received a rousing ‘jama’ from supporters on Volta Lake.

In the viral video shared on social media, there was a rousing jama from supporters as Kennedy Agyapong joined the ferry to some parts of the Oti Region for his campaign.

Mr Agyapong was spotted in his usual Lacoste top and jeans as he acknowledged the rousing Jama performance.

Reports suggest Mr Agyapong was on a journey across the Volta Lake to campaign in some parts of the Oti Region.

In related news, Kennedy Agyapong has said, Samuel Atta Akyea, the former Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, used filthy words against Akufo-Addo.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, Atta-Akyea insulted Akufo-Addo and told him that Akufo-Addo was not fit to be president.

Speaking on Skyy FM, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “Atta-Akyea, I could have responded to him, but I am not going to respond to him because, even President Akufo-Addo, he insulted him. he told me at Heathrow Airport that he is not fit to be president at that time Akufo-Addo won.

So, I was surprised when Akufo-Addo appointed him as minister; he accepted it, before I would have replied to him. The filthy words he says when I go to the UN…”

Kennedy Agyapong reiterated, “The filthy words he used to describe Akufo-Addo at the London Heathrow Airport were scary. So if he can criticise someone coming from his own hometown, when he does it to me, I am nobody, so I am not going to respond. But he should remember the things he told me at Heathrow Airport, it was so nasty.

If I had told Akufo-Addo, he would never have made him a minister, but I was quiet; I am not responding to anybody, I am just staying focused. These are distractions because they do not have a message, so they go about saying Kennedy Agyapong is not presidential material”.

Additionally, the General Overseer of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun, has said the former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team wanted him to prophesy for their candidate.

According to the man of God, he boldly told them Kennedy Agyapong had already won the NPP presidential primaries ahead of the 2026 elections.

Vehicle Embossers petition Transport Ministry to halt 2026 number plate change

0

Reports suggest that the Vehicle Embossers Association of Ghana has petitioned the Transport Ministry to halt the 2026 number plate change planned by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority.

The Vehicle Embossers cited a lack of consultation and claim there will be a looming disruption if DVLA proceed with plans to introduce the new number plate.

According to TV3, they stated, “Vehicle Embossers Association of Ghana petitions Transport Ministry to halt January 2026 number plate changeover, cites lack of consultation and looming disruption”.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, Julius Neequaye Kotey, has revealed he rejected a GHS4 million bribe to stop implementing the new DP plate.

The DVLA boss was quoted by Angel TV Ghana to have stated, “ I rejected GHS4 m bribery cash to stop implementing the new DP plate policy”.

The DVLA is introducing number plates embedded with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips.

According to the DVLA boss, the  RFID chips would enhance security and curb vehicle-related criminality.

The DVLA boss explained that the RFID-enabled plates would make it very difficult for external entities to tamper with or replicate vehicle information.

Julius Neequaye Kotey and the technical team have outlined the upcoming nationwide vehicle registration reforms, aimed at modernising the system, enhancing security, and addressing longstanding issues like plate abuse and data inaccuracies.

The DVLA Justifications for the New System include,

Database Cleanup: Builds a credible, updated vehicle registry to tackle stolen/unaccustomed vehicles and fraud (e.g., easy plate duplication from garages).

State-Controlled Printing: Plates will be produced in-house by DVLA (not private entities) after verification, reducing unauthorised access.

Owner Identification: Links plates to verified owners to boost public safety, crime prevention (e.g., vehicles in crimes), road enforcement, and regional harmonisation (e.g., ECOWAS integration).

Best Practices: Aligns with global standards for reliable data and anti-fraud measures.

UG admission cut-off points remain firm – UG’s Pro Vice Chancellor

0

The University of Ghana (UG) Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Gordon Awandare, has said the institution’s admission requirements and cut-offs remain firm despite the poor performance of many candidates in the 2025 WASSCE.

His comments follow the 2025 WASSCE result being released by WAEC, which revealed 220,008 out of 461,736 failed Core Mathematics, marking the worst performance in the subject in seven years.

Meanwhile, Prof Stephen Adei, a renowned educationist, has said stricter invigilation prevented cheating that could have inflated scores in the 2025 WASSCE results.

The renowned educationist asserted that the decline exposed the long-standing weaknesses in Ghana’s education system.

According to him, stronger exam supervision by WAEC has limited the extensive cheating that often increases results.

Prof Adei further noted that Ghana’s results depend not so much on the students’ performance, but also on how many people get away with murder.

Speaking on the Joy FM Super Morning Show, Prof Adei detailed, “The reality could be that invigilation and vigilance were better during the last examination, because examination malpractice is so widespread that a lot of them, even the passes we see, so it depends whether WAEC has been a bit more vigilant and put in a better system.”

“The decline may not be actually worse performance, but much better supervision of the examination,” he added.

The professor added, “First of all, this is not something that is happening today. It has been with us for a long time. Some of us have been talking about it after the examination. Everybody thought we heard it, and it goes quiet.”

“The main source of the problem happens at the basic school level before the secondary school. The foundation we have in the public schools is what the World Bank describes as ‘schooling without learning’.”

“Generally, we don’t have the right material for about half of them. It’s almost like a wholesale promotion. Unless we tackle a fundamental issue of almost producing illiterate people at the basic level, in fact, these results will be the best we can hope for.”

Details of three petitions seeking the removal of Special Prosecutor surface

0

Details have emerged of the three petitions seeking the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

It will be recalled, news broke that President John Dramani Mahama has forwarded three petitions seeking the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng to the Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie.

According to the report, President Mahama received 10 petitions for the removal of two heads of public institutions and two deputies appointed under Article 70 of the Constitution.

A news flyer by JoyNews, which was shared on social media, revealed that the two institutions are the Electoral Commission (EC) and the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

In one of the petitions filed by the Coalition for Integrity in Governance (COFIIG) accused Kissi Agyebeng of incompetence, financial mismanagement, conflict of interest, and negligence of duty.

Executive Chairman of COFIIG, Simon Yaw Awadzi, called on President Mahama to initiate removal proceedings under Section 15 of the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 and Article 146 of Ghana’s constitution.

The group alleged that Kissi Agyebeng mismanaged public funds allocated to the Office of the Special Prosecutor since 2021, highlighting that over GHS364 million in budgetary allocations were made without any publicly available audited financial statements.

The group also accuses the Special Prosecutor of poor performance, pointing to the absence of major corruption convictions or significant asset recoveries despite the resources at his disposal.

COFIIG petition further references alleged misbehaviour, noting claims that the Special Prosecutor withheld investigative dockets from the Attorney-General, delaying the extradition process of former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

They further raised concerns of conflict-of-interest concerns, claiming that Mr Agyebeng’s nomination was influenced by a senior figure of the Akufo-Addo government, which creates uncertainty about his neutrality, calling for a forensic audit of the OSP’s accounts.

A second petition received by Shamima Muslim, the Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, on behalf of President Mahama, filed by Apostle Abraham Lincoln Larbi of the Agro Ne Fom’ protestors, alleged that Kissi Agyebeng connived with Ken Ofori-Atta to help him evade accountability and accused him of refusing to submit the docket needed for the extradition of Ken Ofori-Atta to the Office of the Attorney General.

According to reports, the third petition also focuses entirely on the SML matter, alleging that the Special Prosecutor allowed Ken Ofori-Atta to flee, failed to use his police powers to arrest him.

The petition also accused the Special Prosecutor of lying about attempts to seek support from security agencies.

Meanwhile, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister for Government Communications, has debunked claims that the Presidency engineered the ten petitions seeking the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Jean Mensa and her deputies.

Also, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has revealed that the petition to remove the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, her deputies and the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng now rests with the Chief Justice.

Meanwhile, Dr Dickson Adomako Kissi, the former Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, has alleged that the Presidency is against the ten petitions seeking the removal of Jean Mensa and the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

A man has been spotted in a viral video allegedly altering the WASSCE results of a Senior High School graduate.

In the viral video shared on social media, the man was spotted busily forging the provisional result generated by the WAEC portal after the candidate had checked his or her results.

The video has been met with some netizens calling for the arrest of the man, and others noting that the result can only be altered to fool the candidate’s family, as it cannot be used to apply to any university.

A netizen stated, “That result will be for the candidate’s family. That cannot be used to apply to any university!!”

Instead of leveraging the computer to help you study adequately to pass your examination, you are using it to skillfully change the results, allegedly?

Oh, this generation is cooked. We have a long way to go if there’s any redemption.

The question is, how long can you fake your results mpo. Oh AMA Ghana”.

A netizen added, “The background statement says Have you heard of tiffs? They are very talented and creative, you will see them on their special day of creating them, their blood will be filled with crimin@l blood”.

“Edon cast for this job, be that. Somebody’s work is about to be closed down”, one more X user added.

The video comes amid WAEC revealing 220,008 out of 461,736 failed Core Mathematics, marking the worst performance in the subject in seven years.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has said the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results accurately reflect student performance.

According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), the claims by Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum, the past Education Minister, attributing the failure to unsupportive management practices are baseless.

They revealed that the GES has cancelled any allowances due to teachers, as claimed by Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum.

“No wonder you were told not to be silly” – Netizens fire Annoh Dompreh after calling Mahama a ‘dead sheep’

0

Netizens on social media have fired shots at the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh, after he labelled President John Mahama a ‘dead sheep’.

Frank Annoh Dompreh had boldly stated he strongly believes the former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will return to lead Ghana.

According to Frank Annoh Dompreh, if the so-called ‘dead sheep’ (John Mahama) could return to power after losing power, he firmly believes in God’s name, Dr Bawumia will also return to lead Ghana as president.

Speaking to NPP delegates during Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour in the Eastern Region, Annoh Dompreh, stated, “If the so-called ‘dead sheep’ could return and become president, and if Mahama could lose power and come back to lead again, then I believe former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia can also return and become president”.

His comment has led to social media users firing shots at him following his remarks.

According to one X user, it is no wonder Annoh Dompreh was told not to be silly by Emefa Hardcastle, the Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission.

The netizen stated, “No wonder he was told ‘not to be silly’ by Emefa Hardcastle. How on earth would a person of his pedigree make such a pronouncement on a sitting President? Can we continue to go on that tangent in our political discourse?”

Another X user added, “What’s really wrong, Dr Bawumia and his communicators/campaign team?, K T Hammond, Wontumi,Abrony3,KoKa,Ata Kyea, Ano Dompre… Reserve team is Afia Swar, Ghana Jollof and Fante comedy, eiii what a solid team”.

“NPP people don’t know what hit them. Mahama’s case is completely different. Bawumia was supposed to be the economic Wizkid. What is he going to campaign on again, yahoo boy?”, a netizen added.

Another Ghanaian added, “My greatest fear for the future of NPP is that if Dr. Bawumia becomes president now, they will never allow him to perform to his full potential because too many high-ranking officials are involved with their own personal agendas. It will be the worst Ghana has ever recorded”.

“Heheheeei… someone should tell him to stop this foolishness. What has the resurrection power of Jesus done in this….if they have now turned into preachers, they can now build a cathedral in opposition and start preaching. Sia!”, One X user added.

One netizen stated, “If I were an NPP delegate, I would be worried. The way these people talk to the NPP delegates says a lot about the lenses through which they view them, and how much of a premium they put on people’s intelligence”.

Additionally, a netizen added, “Basically, you cannot compare His Excellency John Mahama to Dr Bawumia. The President had a good record. Let me refresh your mind with some of his achievements when he was President. Note that we don’t vote for people because of sympathy or because they were born in the party”.

One more X user added, “Honourable, that’s a very careless statement. These small communication mistakes will only harm your party. Ghanaians are already against the NPP, and the NDC has done its part in handling the economy so well so far”.

“The delegates are not even impressed, kwasia lie sei”, a netizen added.

He further claimed his employer had failed to pay an agreed GH¢700 salary, and he had to support two children as well.

The information gathered suggests, the incident happened on October 30 when the accused took 21 cattle out to graze and never returned.

Kwame Obeng later sold 17 cattle for GH¢96,000, receiving an initial payment of GH¢30,000.

“A student with an aggregate 14 could not write her name” – Ahantaman Girls’ SHS Headmistress laments

0

The Headmistress of Ahantaman Girls’ Senior High School, Madam Ernestina Kankam, has recounted how a student came into the school with an aggregate of 14 but could not write her name.

Her revelations come amid the reports of exam malpractice in schools during final exams and the mass failure of the 2025 WASSCE candidates.

According to the headmistress of Ahantaman Girls’ SHS, the student who scored an aggregate of 14 in the BECE could not even write her own name upon admission and later admitted that a teacher had taken the exam on her behalf.

Speaking during an interview, the headmistress of Ahantaman Girls’ SHS stated, “ I have a particular example, just those who wrote the exams, a student came in with an aggregate of 14 and could not write her name. I mean those who just finished.

I was here when the economics teacher brought me her exam paper, and when he came in with the academic assistant, they told me they could not solve the problem. They handed over the paper to me, she had scribbled, she couldn’t write a single sentence correctly, but she had aggregated 14. When we delved into it, I think the teacher wrote it for her because she could not have written it herself, and she confessed that Teacher Takyi helped her.

I wanted to follow up, but could not; it was serious”. She added.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the news stated, “A whole student with an aggregate 14 but couldn’t even write her own name… that one weak me.

This is exactly how exam malpractice comes back to disgrace everyone later.

We can’t be “importing” results and expect miracles at WASSCE”.

“That revelation is deeply worrying. If teachers are writing BECE papers for students, we are setting them up for failure at the SHS level and beyond. This isn’t just about poor WASSCE performance; it’s a systemic integrity crisis that demands urgent investigation and corrective action”, a netizen added.

One more Ghanaian added, “These were real issues happening under Akufo-Addo. Quality education was sacrificed at the expense of political power. They only want us to say FSHS, and we still have the highest pass rates – the very people who are getting good grades struggle to cope when they get admitted to the universities. Quality education did not only affect schools under the Education Service, but the TVET Institutions were also sacrificed under it.  It’s my hope that this government will do all the right things and restore Ghana’s education to the highest level”.

“Sadly, this is true, but if you live in the “big cities and towns”,  you’ll find this hard to believe that someone who’s sat for BECE wouldn’t be able to write their name, but it’s very real. There’s real trouble in some schools in some places, and until I experienced it, I never believed”, an X user added.

Also, Prof Stephen Adei, a renowned educationist, has said stricter invigilation prevented cheating that could have inflated scores in the 2025 WASSCE results.

“No, it’s not dead” – David Adjaye breaks silence on National Cathedral project

0

David Adjaye, the internationally acclaimed architect and designer of the National Cathedral, has broken his silence regarding the stalled project.

According to Architect David Adjaye, the National Cathedral project is not dead, although he feels the John Mahama administration might just want to trash it.

He asserted that the Mahama administration wants to understand the National Cathedral project through a forensic examination, so it is just on pause.

Speaking during a podcast interview with renowned British journalist Tim Abrahams, David Adjaye detailed, “No, it’s not dead. It is funny. I keep thinking this administration might just want to trash it, but I think there was a lot of misunderstanding in the beginning. Because the process was private in a way — it was government, but it was private. So I think there’s a sense with this administration of really understanding what is going on. It may not be a priority, but it is certainly …

“It is definitely a national project. Love or hate it, there’s something about this project which activates a sense of urgency about the infrastructure that’s required,” he added.

David Adjaye added, “We know this administration is careful, making sure that they have done their forensic examination. So that they can say whether they think there were bad practices or good practices.

“So far, it has passed its tests, but we know they’re still carrying on with forensic testing. But in the meantime, it’s on pause. It is just on pause,” he reiterated.

Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has told the Christian Council it is excessive at this time to spend 400 million dollars on a National cathedral.

According to John Mahama, the 400 million cost for the National Cathedral is excessive, citing that Nigeria built an ecumenical centre at $40 million.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Christian Council of Ghana to the Jubilee House on November 18, 2025, John Mahama stated, “I believe that at this time and age, with all the problems we have, $400 million to build a cathedral is excessive. I know Nigeria have built an ecumenical centre and I’ve been there.

It’s a decent, beautiful place, and they built it for $40 million. And so, maybe some of the things are excessive, you know. Let’s find somewhere, all of us, on the National Day of Thanksgiving and worship. We can all go there and worship God and thank him for what he has done for us,” he said.

President John Mahama further added that after the forensic audit into the National Cathedral, he will engage the Christian community to see how Ghana can build a place that is decent for worship.

“When that forensic audit is over, our intention is to have a broad-based consultation with the Christian community to see how we can build a place that is decent for us to worship. But apart from that, make it a centre where people can come and, I mean, look at its architecture and all that and find that Christ, you know, has a place in our hearts, in our nation. And so, when the time comes, we’ll do that consultation and we’ll decide together how we want to go forward,” he added.

Additionally, Veteran broadcaster Kwesi Pratt has boldly told President John Dramani Mahama that the government of Ghana has no business building a place of worship.

Mr Pratt made this known when he lashed out over the Christian Council of Ghana’s plea to President John Mahama to complete the stalled National Cathedral project.

According to Kwesi Pratt, the people of Ghana did not elect President Mahama to pray for them but to use the country’s resources to ensure that resources are used sensibly to resolve their concrete problems.

He boldly asserted that Ghanaians can pray for themselves in their numerous religious centres.

Kwesi Pratt expressed his disappointment with the  Christian Council, which admitted that the people of Ghana are going through excruciating hardship, but asked the President to continue building the National Cathedral.

Decline in 2025 WASSCE results due to tighter exam supervision – Prof Adei

0

Prof Stephen Adei, a renowned educationist, has said stricter invigilation prevented cheating that could have inflated scores in the 2025 WASSCE results.

He further cited his own experience, “In fact, in the branch of our school in my village, when they come from public schools, we spend one full year for them to meet the normal JHS standard before they proceed to the senior secondary school.”

In a statement on Monday, 1 December 2025, the GES stated, “The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken note of public discussions following the release of the 2025 WASSCE results. Management provides clarity to aid a balanced national conversation.

Management takes note of attempts by Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum, immediate past Minister of Education, to attribute the performance of students in the 2025 WASSCE to unsupportive management practices of GES.

It is not true that the GES has cancelled any allowances due to teachers, as claimed by Dr Adutwum in his engagement with some media houses. Indeed, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has publicly clarified reasons for the non-payment of the November allowances for teachers”.

It further added, “GES urges the public to disregard the statements made by the former Minister, Dr Adutwum, regarding the 2025 WASSCE results and treat them as an attempt to shift focus from his shortcomings in managing the examination process.

Management of GES views the 2025 WASSCE results as a true reflection of the academic performance of the candidates. The outcome is a credible representation of students’ abilities”.

“Team Legal Wives …” – Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa, speaks for the first time

0

The late Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Madam Akosua Serwaa, has publicly spoken for the first time following the conclusion of the ‘Serwaa vs. Broni’ court case.

In a viral video shared on social media, Akosua Serwaa was captured dressed in black attire and thanked supporters both online and in real life.

She also appreciated the love shown to her by Team Legal Wives and the husbands of members of Team Legal Wives.

Speaking in the viral video, Akosua Serwaa stated, “I want to first thank God, and secondly, all social media platforms and every Ghanaian, Team Legal Wives and husbands of members of Team Legal Wives, Papa Shee… the list is endless. You have shown me love and stood by me in these trying times”.

“Let us continue to walk in love. The victory is for all of us. The Bible says that those who put their hope in the Lord will not be disappointed. May God be with us,” she added.

Akosua Serwaa’s statement follows, the Kumasi High Court declaring that Akosua Serwaa Fosuh and Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, as the surviving spouses of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

Meanwhile, the legal counsel for Akosua Serwaa, William Kusi, has revealed that her client has ordered him to appeal the Kumasi High Court decision.

According to William Kusi, as a learned professional, he cannot align himself with decisions he described as scandalous.

Speaking in an interview with Dadzie TV on November 28, 2025, William Kusi stated, “I am a learned person, and I can’t align myself with decisions which are scandalous, and I cannot defend. I just spoke with my client, and she said we should appeal against it, and I agree with her. We will prosecute and appeal”.

“She said Akosua Serwaa was unable to prove that she married Lumba in Germany. In fact, she said something like, ‘As for marriage in Germany, it is proven by documents, so if someone claims by just word of mouth that they got married in Germany, it’s not enough unless there is documentation.’ She added that the documents we brought to court cannot be accepted because Akosua Serwaa’s and Lumba’s signatures are not in them,” he explained.

He added, “The most scandalous part of her statement was that she said we only went to forge some documents to claim it is a certificate, which impugns our integrity as lawyers. To me, it’s scandalous”.

Zipline drones unnecessary – Manasseh Azure

0

Manasseh Azure Awuni, an Investigative journalist, has weighed in on the revelations made about the ‘take-or-pay’ sole-sourced Zipline contract costs the government $500,000 every month.

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Health Minister, speaking at the Government Accountability Series in December, detailed the cost implications of the former government Zipline contract.

He revealed, the 2018 ‘take-or-pay’ sole-sourced Zipline contract cost the government $500,000 every month.

According to the Health Minister, the government is obligated to pay Zipline more than $500,000 every month, regardless of how few medical supplies are delivered.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series on December 1, 2025, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh stated, “For every month, the government is supposed to pay $88,000 per centre. So with six centres, we are paying a little over $500,000 every month”.

He added that the sole-sourced contract effectively binds the government to continuous payments.

Audit also revealed that only 12% of areas served qualify as “hard-to-reach” and only 4% of deliveries can fall under “emergency” classification, raising significant value for money concerns.

Reacting to the Health Minister Accountability Series, Manasseh Azure noted that if the Zipline money is spent on supplying drugs to hospitals, there will be no need for emergency drones.

He wrote, “If we spent the Zipline money on supplying drugs to hospitals, we wouldn’t need emergency drones to drop critical drugs”.

Also, Mahama Ayariga, the Majority Leader in parliament, has boldly declared that the former government’s contract with Zipline for the drone delivery of essential medicines was a total waste of money.

According to Mahama Ayariga, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has the capacity to procure its own drones to deliver critical drugs to communities.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Mahama Ayariga stated, “It’s a total waste of money. The most expensive drones don’t even go beyond twenty thousand dollars. By now, we would have had drones for every district in this country managed by the Ghana Health Service. Let’s do a total calculation on how much money we have wasted on this Zipline contract.”

“I call for a cancellation of the contract. The contract should be cancelled. The Ghana Health Service should develop its own in-house capacity to deliver the blood through its own drones,” he added.

His remarks come on the back of Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority leader, calling on the Leader of Government Business to summon the Health Minister to parliament to update the house on Zipline operations following three centres being shut down due to the government’s GH₵175 million unpaid debt.

Meanwhile, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, the former Minister of Health, has warned the John Mahama-led government against the cancellation of the Zipline drone delivery system.

The former Minister of Health cautioned political actors against attempts to ridicule and undermine the Zipline.

According to Okoe Boye, politicising Zipline can endanger the lives of remote communities that depend on emergency medical deliveries.

The former Health Minister defended the Zipline drone delivery as one of the fastest lifelines for health facilities that lack critical medical supplies.

It will be recalled, the former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, launched the drones-for-medical-supplies initiative at Zipline’s first distribution centre at Omenako in the Eastern Region.

The $12.5 million contract was to enable the Ghana Health Service to fly blood and other essential medical supplies to deprived and hard-to-reach areas.

“If the so-called ‘dead sheep’ could return, Bawumia can become president” – Annoh Dompreh

0

The Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh, has boldly stated he strongly believes the former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will return to lead Ghana.

According to Frank Annoh Dompreh, if the so-called ‘dead sheep’ (John Mahama) could return to power after losing power, he firmly believes in God’s name, Dr Bawumia will also return to lead Ghana as president.

Speaking to NPP delegates during Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour in the Eastern Region, Annoh Dompreh, stated, “If the so-called ‘dead sheep’ could return and become president, and if Mahama could lose power and come back to lead again, then I believe former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia can also return and become president”.

Also, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority Leader in Parliament, has told his fellow New Patriotic Party (NPP) members to take inspiration from the NDC for the party to win back power in 2028.

Let us work together, and we can take inspiration from the NDC and win power,” he added.

Afenyo-Markin further begged all NPP members to put their anger against the former Akufo-Addo government aside and work together to win power.

He added, “Look, I am pleading with every NPP member: even if the government was not fair to you, put all your anger somewhere and let us work together to win”.

“It took Asiedu Nketiah, the Ahwois and others to put the NDC together. So, NPP, there is hope.”

Meanwhile, the Global InfoAnalytics latest poll has revealed that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and presidential candidate hopeful for the NPP, leads in thirteen out of the sixteen regions in Ghana.

The poll revealed Dr Bawumia continues to dominate the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

The Global InfoAnalytics revealed that the poll was conducted between 17th and 21st November 2025 among 3,500 delegates across all 16 regions.

The poll, however, shows that Dr Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong’s support has slightly declined since October.

Global InfoAnalytics’ likely voters’ model indicated that, “Dr Bawumia: 42.7%, Kennedy Agyapong: 17.7%, Dr Bryan Acheampong: 4.6%, Dr Yaw Adutwum: 0.3%, and Kwabena Adjei Agyapong: 0.3%”.

With 14.9% of delegates not disclosing their voting intentions, while 19.3% remain.

Also, committed voters, Dr Bawumia’s lead widens: “Dr Bawumia: 63.3%, Kennedy Agyapong: 28.6%, and Dr Acheampong: 6.9%”.

“Give me money to travel to China for importation, you’re saying university” – SHS graduate

0

A Senior High School graduate has thrown a wild question in response to her mother’s request for her to pursue higher education.

According to the SHS graduate, the mother wants her to go and check her WASSCE results following WAEC’s release of the 2025 provisional results.

The SHS graduate in the viral video boldly declared she has no intention of pursuing higher education as she prefers going to China to import goods into the country.

Speaking in a self-recorded video, the SHS graduate stated, “My mother, the results are in, she says I should go and check and buy University forms, give me money to travel to China for importation, you’re saying university, University for what?”

Her video has since ignited debate on social media, with some netizens saying, “She has a point. Everyone should pursue what they think is best, cos school nowadays no longer guarantees job security.

But it’s always nice to at least have some formal education first, though”.

A netizen added, “The plane flying to China is operated and maintained by engineers who, as you’d expect, went to university. This isn’t to diminish the work of traders, but if your passion doesn’t require a university degree, don’t look down on those whose professions do”.

One more netizen quizzed her, “You go the china there Wey them use Google translate to describe the items and features, ugo know say school dey need”.

Additionally, a Ghanaian added, “Who in their right senses would give money to this one to go to China? Nobody should come and tell me ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’, shit here”.

“University is very important, and Business is equally important. But the most important here is Basic education. As she has secured that, she can either grow a business and get a degree later or have her degree first and grow a business after. It works both ways, love”, one more netizen stated.

One more netizen added, “She is not wrong with what she is saying. Ghanaian parent still believe formal education is the only gateway for their kids to become successful in life. Things are changing, and it’s high time the country starts focusing on other areas that Ghanaians are naturally do at & institutionalise it”.

Meanwhile, the results released by WAEC reveal, 220,008 out of 461,736 failed Core Mathematics, marking the worst performance in the subject in seven years.

A total of 1,021 schools registered candidates for the examination, representing a slight 0.24% increase over 2024, while 5,821 candidates (1.26%) were absent”.
