Popular Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam has said he does not know the Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, popularly known as Chairman Buga Buga.
The NPP Chairman has been accused of snatching the wife of popular Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam.
According to Chairman Buga Buga, the woman, who is now his second wife, was divorced before he married her.
Alhaji Masawudu clarified that the woman had been in a relationship with the musician Fancy Gadam and that they had been separated before he met her.
The NPP stressed that Fancy Gadam had publicly announced the end of his relationship with the woman before he became involved with her.
Speaking in an interview shared on social media, Alhaji Masawudu stated, “Fancy Gadam and I do not have any problem. I met him once in a restaurant in Accra. People are accusing me of being a wife snatcher, but that is not true. I do not know whether it is a crime to propose to a woman who was previously in a relationship that has ended. They were no longer together. Even Fancy Gadam publicly stated that he was no longer with the lady”.
Alhaji Masawudu also rejected claims that he had been dating the woman while she was still in a relationship with Fancy Gadam.
Chairman Buga Buga claimed he met the woman only about two months ago and subsequently married her through the appropriate traditional and legal processes.
“As a man of my status, I would not just date a woman casually. After knowing her for about two months, I married her, and she is now my second wife,” he claimed.
However, Fancy Gadam, speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, stated he has seen Chairman Buga Buga on social media; they have never met in person.
According to Fancy Gadam, he has no issue with Chairman Buga Buga marrying his ex-wife.
“I don’t know him. I’ve never met him. I’ve only seen him on social media as Buga Buga, and I don’t even know his real name. There’s nothing wrong with that. He’s not my enemy. Ebi normal,” Fancy Gadam stated.
According to Fancy Gadam, if he realises that the other person is not giving him the same level of energy invested in the relationship, he chooses to leave rather than remain in an unhappy situation.
Fancy Gadam, when asked whether, as a Muslim, he would consider marrying more than one wife, stated, “My father married four, so it wouldn’t be taboo if I also marry four, but when they say Muslims can marry four, it is not compulsory”.
