Omanhene Kwabena Asante, a broadcast journalist with the Multimedia Group, has told the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prioritise building the party rather than walking on cocoa farms.

According to Omanhene, the NPP must focus on reorganising itself rather than focusing its energies on cocoa politics.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Omanhene Kwabena Asante stated, “It is only Ghanaians who will decide what is best for them and not politicians. They currently do not even have a go-to person; someone who can take responsibility when issues arise.”

“The leaders are excluding themselves and setting themselves up in other parties and activities,” he said.

Omanhene added, “They should prioritise building the party rather than walking on cocoa farms.”

“They should coordinate and make sure the bitterness and chaos within the party are sorted and controlled,” he added.

Omanhene Kwabena Asante further questioned the visibility and effectiveness of those managing Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, saying, “We do not see any work from those handling Dr Bawumia”.

Meanwhile, Sammi Awuku, the former Director-General of the National Lottery Authority and Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, has revealed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) plans to win the 2028 election.

According to Sammi Awuku, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will shift strategy to win the 2028 elections.

Sammi Awuku explained that the NPP will shift its strategy to prioritise deeper grassroots mobilisation, more structured communication, and sustained engagement with party members.

He detailed that the party intends to move closer to communities to better understand their challenges, making sure that their political policies and messaging reflect realities on the ground.

Sammi Awuku further revealed that the NPP is reviewing its previous campaign strategies to adopt new methods to enhance voter engagement efficiency.

Speaking on the AM Show on April 22, the former NPP National Organiser explained, “There will be a shift in strategy to win 2028”.

“Dr Bawumia is engaging with people to understand their problems and know how they are doing. The focus is to listen more, engage more, and organise better,” he said.

Also, Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Damongo and Ranking Member on Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, has revealed that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP will put a strong formula to win the confidence of Ghanaians.

According to Abu Jinapor, Dr Bawumia and the NPP will present a compelling policy platform to address key national concerns, like youth unemployment and rising living costs.

The Damongo MP labelled Mahamudu Bawumia as the most prepared and best-suited leader to guide Ghana beyond 2028.

Speaking on The Pulse on JoyNews, Abu  Jinapor explained, “By the grace of God, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP will be putting a strong formula, strategy and blueprint before the Ghanaian people… to ensure that we win the confidence of the Ghanaian people”.

He further disclosed that the NPP elected a solid and a very extraordinary man with experience in Ghanaian politics.

He added, “The NPP elected a very extraordinary man, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, a very solid personality in Ghanaian politics, with a lot of experience, a man of enormous integrity, clarity of thought, and with a clear vision for our country”.

“Dr Mahamudu Bawumia promised and committed to a flat tax rate at the port to ensure that the private sector thrives and that importers are given the opportunity to import with a tax regime which gives them predictability,” he stated.
