Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD), a veteran Ghanaian broadcaster and Presidential Special Envoy to the Caribbean, has said fools will sleep with one’s future wives before them if they delay their marriage.
In an interview which has gone viral on X, KKD opened up about the reason he decided to settle down at a young age.
According to him, his uncle advised him during his younger years against delaying marriage.
Speaking in an interview, Kwesi Kyei Darkwah stated, “I hope everyone gets a good marriage. I got married early because my uncle gave me some advice. He told me that even though I had no money, ladies were still all over me.
“He added that when I eventually got money, even more women would come around. But if I delayed marriage for too long, fools would be with the woman who would later become my wife. And I realised there was some truth in what he said,” he stated.
Some Ghanaians reacting to the video argued, saying, “A fool thinks marriage prevents women from sleeping around”.
“First off, no one is a fool. Second, big 2026 eno matter if you marry early or not, Dem dey eat your wife already”, one X user added.
A netizen added, “He is part of the fools then, someone who has been arrested for a case of sexual assault”.
“He’s actually making an argument for teenage marriage and paedophilia. Catch them young, or someone will chop am before you…SMH”, one X user added.
In related news, a Methodist Church Elder has urged members of the church’s Men’s Fellowship to consider marrying early rather than delaying marriage.
He also advised men to have their children within shorter age gaps.
According to the Methodist Church elder, early marriage enables men to fulfil their parental responsibilities earlier in life instead of spending their old age raising young children.
Speaking to Church members, the Methodist Church elder stated, “Get married early and have your children very early. It is very beautiful when you are growing, and your children are almost the same height as you. It is so beautiful.
You don’t also use your pension pay, and then your child is at KG or class one by the time you die, your child has not attained anything, so change your mind.
By 30, you are married, and if you want to have children, have it quick”, he added.
